  1. I think he missed a step. His cals were based on cruise altitude where they should be cruise altitude minus landing field elevation. Not a problem if you are landing in Miami, Denver is a different story. Other than that it was well done.
  2. Try starting a flight at KDEN, then "go to" your new airport and see if they show up. I cannot remember if FSX geo-locks objects or not, I know FS9 does.
  3. The texture.cfg is only needed if you are storing textures for one livery in more than one folder. That way you can put common textures in one folder and not need a copy in each livery folder. Creating new textures will not work unless those texture names are called out in the .mdl file. If you have Model Converter X (and you should) you can open the .mdl file in MCX and see what all textures are called out by the .mdl. Bottom line, if the developer did not assign night textures to the model there is no way for you to add them. peace, the Bean
  4. Look in the main Texture folder for files named runwaynn_hw.bmp. HW=hard winter. peace, the Bean
  5. FTR, 24bit images have a color palette of >16 million colors, 8bit images have 256. When you converted to 8bit a lot of near-black pixels were converted to pure black, 0,0,0 RGB. FS treats pure black pixels on 2D panel bitmaps as transparent, basically so you can see out the window. 24bit images work OK as panel bitmaps. peace, the Bean
  6. That download calls for the FS9 Extra gauges which have a different file name than the FSX Extra gauges. Copy the FS9 gauges from FS9 to the panel folder in FSX and you should be good to go. peace, the Bean
  7. Is the starter switch in the 2D panel? I bet not.
  8. Actually it is using gauges that are included in the download. The panel.cfg calls them from a file named EXTRA.cab. This is not the default FSX Extra gauges. That said, the panel.cfg does call for a couple gauges that do not exist in that .cab file. gauge08=EXTRA!Starter, 189,507,67,64 ...and... gauge11=EXTRA!Low-Voltage-Light, 424,495,25,24 ...are not in EXTRA.cab. You could 'borrow' the starter switch from the default Extra if you wish. It does appear that A.F.Scrub 'borrowed' most of the gauges from the default Extra anyway. *cough* copyright violation *cough* peace, the Bean
  9. No they are not. Take a look at London City, EGLC. That said, 5 x groundspeed is a good guide for vertical speed until you lock on the glideslope. peace, the Bean [added]Also, in aviation glideslopes are referred to in degrees, not percents. Why complicate things by having to convert between the two?[/added]
  10. Did you know that you can access the Learning Center from outside the sim? Navigate to [your FSX installation]\FSWeb\LearningCenter and start clicking around. The LC is HTML so you can view it in your web browser of choice. peace, the Bean
  11. Where exactly, and how do you edit the FSX.cfg for scenery addon locations? Been doing this a long time and this is the first time I have ever heard this. peace, the Bean
  12. Does the Lear come standard in P3D? Not according to their website- http://prepar3d.com/vehicles/
  13. [quote=Mac6737;2088866...it looks like THIS: [models] normal=lear45 Is this the FSX LJ45 or the FS9 LJ45? peace, the Bean
