  1. HAHAHA With the added benefit of a little dihydrogen monoxide.
  2. Something else you should consider doing is that with each stop look on Wikipedia and read about that airport if it has an entry, the state or town and check it out in Google Street View. This is what I do. There is even footage around the DPRK which is where I went once. But not Street View imagery, but small clickable dots showing a panorama view of that area. I gotta say, North and South Korea looks pretty nice. Even Taipei. I've even been to no man's land Mongolia, and there is Street View imagary there as well. LOL One thing I found funny was that I think it was Latvia where I saw a "New York style pizzeria." HAHAHA You may want to consider installing this add-on. poisusa.zip Then post all your post cards. Edit- Speaking of Perth. Did a little airshow over there once. My scenery isn't the best, but I do have ORBX global, Active Sky, and Active Sky Cloud Art. You hear my callsign as Lockheed Foxtrot 22, but I have since changed it to Mantis 77 thanks to EditvoicepackX. Just got tired of the mundane callsign I had and since I know how to make voice files for things I finally made up my own callsign. Did you know a Preying mantis can latch onto a small bird? And they will hiss at you if they feel threatened.
  3. I actually want to learn how to paint liveries because when I finally pull the thought of buying the PMDG 737NGX off the back burner and buy it, I want to paint it in a 'Where in the world is Carmen SanDiego" colors and scheme. Don't know if you or anyone else is familiar. But Where in the world is Carmen SanDiego was a DOS video game I played back in the 6th grade circa 1993 and was a TV game show with kids using their geography skills to win.
  4. Does not compute. :D Puerto Rico is an United States territory much like the Virgin Islands and the U.S' part of Samoa. I've flown around the world five times now. The first time being in a well modified Lear 45. I went from Denver Eastward with stops from Nova Scotia, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, down to London, over the channel to Europe, the Middle East, a bunch of *stans*, Nepal, South East Asia, Guam, Wake Island, Midway Island, Hawaii, and onto Los Angeles. From LA I went to Vegas and then back to Denver. The only time I had to cheat with fuel was going over the Pacific from Hawaii to Los Angeles. That was a long route! The rest of my round the world trips have been in my highly modified F-22 flying at an unrealistic cruise of mach 2.35 (about 1,500 MPH ground speed) at FL500. I have touched all seven continents and been to more countries then I can count. LOL
  5. Look here in the library for updated airports or airports that are missing. Someone may have created them.

  7. I only went to Job Corp and studied welding and got a GED then high school diploma. No college once so ever. HAHA Computers and what not are a hobby of mine. I guess when you have an interest in something you learn about it. I'm also a well-rounded sponge so to speak and remember quite a bit about what I read about. As to those folders, are they empty? il88pp, can one pull those folders from a P3D install disk or something and do a hash check comparing the install folders with the installation its self? Although, if ORBX is added to the mix that complicates things.
  8. What's an update? Oh, that lack of QC crap people seem to think they need never mind the fact I've only used a handful since Win 98se? Those updates? Never been hacked in my life and only got one virus back in my Win 98se days that crappy AVG didn't even stop. Since then I vowed never to be owned and tea bagged again and learned a whole hell of a lot about computer and cyber security. Now one might say, "you probably have malware and don't know it." Well, if my software of which are Sanity Check, Stream Armor, TDssKiller, ADwcleaner, SuperAntiSpyware, FreeFixer (not what you think), Ring3 Hook scanner or my use of Sandboxie for my browser doesn't show anything then I guess I'm good to go. Especially with my discipline of scanning any and all capable file downloads at Virus Total. I do run a tight ship, and I don't need lack of QC updates destroying MY computer. I've seen thread after thread on how an update totally messed up one's computer. And I'm like why do you even bother using updates in the first place? Just use the individual ones that you absolutely need for things like motherboard and/or software functionality. But each their own I guess. Now I realize you can't turn the crap off in 10. My answer to that is in the last paragraph of this post here: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?317916-HELP!-Weird-loss-of-airspace-access&p=2087339#post2087339 And nothing in life is free. Win 10 was "free" and I have to wonder why they pushed it so badly though an update.
  9. You may or may not like what I'm going to tell you, but I'm going to say it anyway. Those Windows power saving modes of sleep and hibernation have been a source of many issues for many people. I know because I'm a member of many computer forums and over 10 years of being on computer tech forums I have seen my fair share of threads of people with computer issues due to the fact they used a power saving mode like sleep of hibernation. You're far, far better off just powering off the computer and not using a power saving mode. Right now you are suffering from some sort of data corruption most likely due to the power saving mode. Especially since the Sim was paused and in essence still running so to speak. Now I don't run P3D, but if it's anything like FSX, it may have a repair install feature. That may be your only course of action at this point short of a complete reinstall. Now note that a repair install for FSX is carried out by first uninstalling SP1 and SP2 first. If P3D is like that and if P3D has service packs then I can only imagine the same procedure would have to be used. Besides the Sim, you may in fact have other data corruption on your computer you may not know about. If you find out that to be true you can first try sfc /scannow in an Admin elevated command prompt or just do a Windows repair install. To get help with that endeavor go to tenforums.com and ask about it. You will need a Win 10 disk and it can't be an OEM reinstall disk. Again, this only applies if you find other corruption on your computer. Something I would do is check the data integrity on the HDD. To do that run command prompt as Admin and enter the following command: chkdsk C: /f /r /x Something else I should mention is that I've also seen my fair share of threads where people's computer's got hosed due to a power outage. Your best solution for that is a good quality and reputable UPS. I own a Cyberpower model and it's meant for active PSUs. Many people may not even be aware that you can't just use any old UPS with their computer. It all depends on the PSU its self. Also, depending on the type of UPS, if they are plugged into a surge protector it can cause a fire due to the unclean sine wave if I can remember right. The specific version of UPS I have is not only meant for active PSUs which I own, but is pure sine wave. This is what I own here: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16842102131 I use the 850VA model and it gives me about 19 minutes to safely save and close applications and power the computer off normally. With this particular UPS I can also run a 10 watt LED bulb for close to three hours. See my post on my forum about that here: https://cyberpcforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=1677#p1677 Anyway, a little off track, but seen as how this is about power saving mode and I've seen that issue raised numerous times along with the power outage issue, I figured I should mention it. Good luck. :pilot: Off topic, but if you really want to control Win 10 telemetry, deploy a nettop with 4GB of RAM and install PFsense. Then block all outbound Microsoft ASNs in the firewall and also monitor SNMP for anything that shouldn't go between YOUR computer. You can get ASN lists here: https://bgp.he.net/ To get to a Microsoft IP you would then temp run a good, reputable, non-five eyes jurisdiction VPN such as Protonvpn or vpn.ac and punch through the firewall for temp Microsoft IP access. If you want to go that far, chime in on my website. LOL Anyway, Win 10 is an absolute abomination IMO. Gone are the days of actually owing your own damn computer. Redmond has turned the user into their own little cash cow in much the same way a smartphone turns the human drone into their cash cow.
  10. If you would like to voice chat with me personally, I'm available through Wire. https://wire.com/en/download/ Just send me a PM here and I'll relinquish my username so you can contact me.
  11. Hello folks. I have MegaScenery Earth Colorado that I bought about two years ago and never installed it and probably never will. I paid around $65 just for the disks. So if you buy this you will have a hard copy of disks rather than a bunch of massive files to deal with. I don't even recall if I got the charts or not. In total there are 12 disks. I have the unused product key as well. Asking $34 shipped to the lower 48. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii let me know so I can adjust the shipping price. No sales outside of the U.S., sorry. PayPal only. No bitcoin, checks, cash, etc. I don't have any heat reputation, but I have sold on here a TrackIR. Send me a private message if interested. First come first serve. See here for product information: https://www.megasceneryearth.com/colorado-v3-2017.html From the website: COMPATIBILITY: FSX/FSX:SE/P3D V1.X/P3D V2.X/P3D V3.X/P3D V4.X Not sure how this plays with ORBX stuff. This is photogen. You may need to ask in the FSX or P3D subforum. Apparently, the last DVD has resource literature.
  12. Read through this subforum. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/forumdisplay.php?53-Painter-s-Workshophttps://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/forumdisplay.php?53-Painter-s-Workshop
  13. Do you have the uiautomationcore.dll installed in the Sim? Also, FSUIPC helps with things as well. All you need is the free version.
  14. No, there is a difference between advertised HDD size and what is used by Windows, etc. Use this calculator. http://www.endmemo.com/data/diskcapacity.php 476 GB is what Windows uses. Again, this is not a reserved space for your SSD. You need to do that with the software I gave a link to.
  15. Then I suspect the GPU driver got updated. Read post #4 again.
  16. Could be an option being used in CloudFlare.
  17. Are you not able to still access that forum to contact that person? If so, try portable Firefox or portable Chrome. https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable
  18. Very interesting. Just found out my gaming desktop motherboard has a Thunderbolt add-in card connector. Not too sure what that is. I'm assuming that's the Thunderbolt connector right there that I can utilize? Edit- Looks like there is Thunderbolt 2 and 3. Are they backwards compatible?
  19. Interesting. Reason I ask is that I read it's a good idea to have an aviation two-way handheld if you go out into the back country and if you are lost and see a plane over head you could use that frequency (legally I guess) to signal your distress to the overhead plane so that you can get rescued. I read this at the radioreference.com website. I thought of buying a handheld for this specific purpose just in case, but I also thought about just buying a Sat phone and calling card on eBay as well.
  20. Good to hear. I confirmed it myself prior to uploading it.
  21. Yeah, with software or drivers I always chose to not auto update and do so on my own and in my control. That way if something messes up I know what happened. Looks like this link has an archive of older drivers. https://www.nvidia.com/drivers/beta
  22. Simple question: Do all commercial and/or GA aircraft actively monitor 121.5 MHz? Thanks.
