  1. Not quite sure if I can be of help on all your issues, especially those dealing with the A310. Since Aug. 2022, after regaining some vision, I purchased MSFS2020 and have toyed with several aircraft along the way. Most of all, I've become glued to the stock B787-10, and, although not a perfect product, I've become attached to it. I've acquired much help along the way, mostly from this forum and a lot from it's member Tim Wright. It has taken a lot of trial and error along the learning curve, and I doubt if I'll ever master the beast. But I've come a long way. My advice to you is watch (as many as you can) youtubes about MSFS2020 and the A310 in particular. As Tim Wright pointed out to me, the more data you feed the FMC, the better the results. And I am of course still learning. I have tried LittleNavMap and SimBrief primarily for NAV help. I have since gone back to the DEFAULT Flgt Planner. When I file a plan (which is usually 2 or 3 hours long, and in reality not what the 787 was meant for), before I exit the DEPARTURE and ARRIVAL page, I take the Snipping Tool and capture a view of the WAYPOINTS, Rwys and SIDS (hold off on STARS until near destination). Except for KMCI & MABQ, these WAYPOINTS should show in this order on the LEGS page of the FMC. If any other entries such as "THEN, VECTORS or others are on the LEGS page, press the DELETE key below the keypad then click on the key adjacent to the erroneous entries. I'm not 100% certain that this is proper, but it seems to work. My flights become more satisfying each time I learn something new. Hope the above helps you out a bit.
  2. Oops! As 11 and 12 says, they ZOOM In and Out on both COCKPIT and EXTERNAL if you select for both.
  3. Back at you Colin. Don't know if this will help, but below is my HAT SWITCH setup. What, if anything, that 11 and 12 do is beyond me, but those selections are the same for COCKPIT and EXTERNAL views, except for Button 2 being selected in the EXTERNAL section. This works for me. Hope it helps for you.
  4. Toying around with this REVERSE THRUST issue, seems the default setting for this works also. It's the F2 key but, unlike with FSX, instead of a quick tap of the key, you have to hold it down about 3 seconds. Just tapping the F3 key will negate REVERSE THRUST. Quick taps on the F2 key also decreases the throttle. I've been wrong many times in my life so I'm not 100% certain, but in previous sims, I think that after touchdown, all you had to do is tap F2 to activate REVERSE THRUST. Hope this helps.
  5. My controller is also a HOTAS Thrustmaster X. In previous MS Flight Sims, there was a CONTROL OPTION command to TOGGLE REVERSE THRUST. Doesn't seem to be one in MSFS2020. A few months ago, Tim Wright passed this on to me and, although not as neat as toggling ON & OFF, it does the job. See screenshot below. If you want to back up at gate, release PARKING BRAKE and hold HOTAS Button 3 for a few seconds (3 or 4) and you'll see the reverse thrust units on engine cowling sliding back. Pretty much the same for landing. Upon touchdown depress Button 3 and reversers activate. Throttle in both cases must be pulled all the way back. Anything forward negates reverse thrust, which you must do to exit runway. Don't ask me how it works, but it does. And thank Tim Wright if it works for you.
  6. Landing weight...flap setting...speed, who knows. Lots of variables. All I can suggest is try some slight variations but first check out some specs on landing the 737. My bird is the 787-10 and for quite some time it would just float over the runway. I increased flap setting, lowered touchdown speed a little, and made sure landing weight was within reason.
  7. As I've started previous posts, this not a revelation or something that the Smithsonian cares about. But I think it will make MY navigating a bit less tedious. Attempting to use the mouse to adjust HEADING (which seems like the natural thing to do) at times becomes cumbersome, especially in some Instrument Panel views while the aircraft is banking. Being perturbed with using the mouse, I decided to give the Keyboard a chance. After toying around trying to find two good Key Commands, I felt I was blessed with coming up with the two in the screenshot below:
  8. Tried it on the default FNC and sure enough, with some weight stuff added, it worked.
  9. Hi Tim, as always, good to hear from you. And, as always, you're so dependable. Having ETA's makes for a more enjoyable flight. I do wonder if this weight added would have worked before the FLYBYWIRE addition. Maybe this afternoon (CDT) I'll remove FBW from COMMUNITY folder and see what happens. Thanks once more.
  10. Prior to the last big update (1.33.8.0) Waypoints on the B787-10 FMC were a gimme. The update seems to have stolen that. Since installing 1.33.8.0, I have installed the freebie program "FLYBYWIRE", which gives you some Real World airlines at your major terminals. Seems it has created a few new probs, such as failing to show TRAFFIC on the ND and less contrails through your area of display. But that is another issue. What I have discovered, and I'm not sure if FLYBYWIRE has anything to do with it, is, I can now get WAYPOINT ETA's on the FMC, but only after including some weight factors from the WEIGHT and BALANCE panel. Maybe I'm 100% wrong but would appreciate any comments, even negative. Thanks in advance.
  11. Guess I deserve the "Big Dummy Award" but at least it's a lesson learned. Most times when I start a flight (B787-10), I'm on the runway, ready to roll (default). Of course there are things that still need babysitting (FMC, EICAS preferences, etc.). Oh, and proper amount of fuel. In the past, I've just been using the CENTER, LEFT MAIN & RIGHT MAIN sliders to adjust fuel amounts. A few days ago, I decided to alter that routine a bit and move the FUEL slider full left to 0.00%, then work from there. After gassing up, I'd return to COCKPIT view only to find my engines shut down, then had to go do the engine start-up stuff. Well, you big dummy. when you moved FUEL slider to 0.00%, your engines were out of juice. so of course, they shut down. So, don't do dat! p.s. For those not familiar with "dat", it is how New Orleanian natives (moi included) and probably Brooklynites pronounce "that".
  12. This probably has nothing to do with a solution for your problem, but I just noticed my last few (make-believe) flights gave me the "slide show" routine when landing at a few high density terminals, such as Rome. Now, the only change I recall doing lately is activating a tool by IOBIT called "Smart Game Booster". I just tried departing Rome without "Smart Game Booster" and FPS real smooth as it used to be. Just my two cents.
  13. Wish it would have worked for you. Only thing else I can offer at the moment is emptying COMMUNITY FOLDER, but I'm sure you're a sharp enough cookie to have already tried that avenue.
  14. This may or may not help. In fact, so much time has passed that I'm not certain what my problem was (or if this fixed it), but it may be worth a try. I do recall having AP probs and may have even gleaned this info from someone else on this or some other forum. If my memory serves me right, I might have used it once with no need to use it since. You might want something simpler than a two key command such as mine. Like I said, it might help but don't get your hopes up.
  15. Please, correct me if I'm wrong. Unless a manual is updated, doesn't some info become obsolete with some updates?
  16. O.K. Maybe this isn't a revelation...but it works as a pause...kinda like the old days. You do have to depress the P key for maybe a second to get a PAUSE, but just a toggle on the P key gets things on the move again.
  17. Oh, how I miss that (save flight) jewel. Hi tiger. As for anything Xbox, this old man knows next to diddly. I think my wife has some Xbox component(s) on her TV setup. Her domain and (except for watching) I stay away from it.
  18. That make a little sense, but my goodness, "P" for PAUSE. It don't git no better'n dat.
  19. Thanks loki! Checked out the link above and most I was already aware of. From my early days of FS2020 (Aug 22) I wasn't copacetic with ACTIVE PAUSE, so I attempted to utilize the "tried and true" key command "P", only to find it wasn't a toggle and, as stated in that link...you need two keys for it to work. Let's face facts. FS2020 (especially in the scenery department) is so far advanced over FSX that we simmers should be most thankful. But in my humble opinion, some goodies such as the "P" toggle for pause, if possible, should have been carried over into FS2020. Hate to use this time-worn cliche, but don't fix what ain't broke. Thanks again! Have a good day and keep up the great work.
  20. Before I begin, I'm in a B787-10 Oh! She is a beauty. Now, I've given all a few days break from "my" flgt sim issues, primarily my REVERSE THRUST prob. But here is what I think is a new one... Usually, when I PAUSE a flight, it isn't a very long pause. You know, a gotta go moment (not wearing diapers yet), and then back to the big sky. But a few hours ago, a neighbor dropped by while I was (in my world) flying from CYQB (Quebec, Canada) to KPHL (Philadelphia, PA). Before starting my flight, I had ample jet juice plus some reserve to get me to "the City of Brotherly Love ", with KEWR as an alternate. After jawing with my neighbor for an hour (give or take), I released PAUSE and got back to the skies near Island Pond, Vermont. Lo and behold (whatever that means), my petrol is nearly history. I surmise that while on PAUSE, the turbines decided they didn't need to take a break and kept drinking kerosene. Thanks for INSTANT REFUEL, I didn't kill anyone. In the past, maybe someone else has noticed this drain on fuel while PAUSED, but I don't recall seeing it. And one more thing, is this a great forum or what. I get nearly as much joy out of this sounding board as I do aviating my imaginary PAX. Being long retired, I'm checking in all day long. Thanks to all of you. And a special thanks to Nels.
  21. B I N G O! Tiger, you've done it again. F2 assigned as above did the trick. Would you be my Guru? A GREAT BIG THANKS! Don't know where you go from Super Grand Master but you deserve it. Maybe an oak leaf cluster?
  22. Where's my white flag? I hate surrendering, but perhaps the time has come. Except for the A320 neo, I cannot get the external view to indicate reverse thrust is activated. Left screenshot shows the Airbus 320 neo with engine cowling indicating reverse thrust. Out of the four default airliner types (2 Airbuses & 2 Boeings), the neo is the only bird that will show this feature on my puter. Right screenshot shows the F2 key is assigned to TOGGLE THROTTLE REVERSE THRUST and the F10 key is assigned to HOLD THROTTLE REVERSE THRUST. Both do function as a braking tool. Of course, the F10 key must remain depressed to function.
