    Oh no. When I reload the flight, it's gone again. No map no menu bar.

    Ah. I did was was suggested and created a new flight and the map is back ! Don't know what happened there. Thanks guys/girls.

    I can't bring the map up anymore. There used to be the small 3 white buttons at the bottom left to access it, now they're not there. Checked key bindings and display map is "v" as it always was, but pressing "v" doesn't bring it up either. Any help would be appreciated.

    That happened to me but after a minute it settled down ok.

    Nah didn't work today. Lasted 12 minutes, but Yes Apollo 212, I just minimised it and didn't close it and so far after 75 minutes it's going ok !

    No that didn't work today LOL. Only lasted 12 minutes. BUT somebody somewhere suggested don't close the map. Just minimise it. So it's always running. So far 72 minutes in and it's working !

    This was beginning to seriously get on my nerves, then yesterday I opened the map within a few seconds of starting the flight, and I flew for 7 hours without a problem and used the map loads of times.

    Yesterday I opened the map about 10 seconds after starting a flight and flew for 7 hours without a problem. Maybe that's what solved it, maybe not. Just sayin'. Who knows what today will bring !

    So really, with no map and a lack of proper VOR navigation (no DME info) it's really just for flying around pretty cities isn't it.

    Nah. That didn't work. Worse in fact. Crashed after 8 mins when trying to see the map.

    Only happens if I've been flying for more than 30 mins. It's a bind. Does anyone else get this ?

    It does make some mistakes. It thinks Whitby Abbey is a hotel complex. And it thinks the oil storage tanks near LAX are large round apartment complexes lol !

    Yes. It's distance measuring I am lacking. Don't see a distance anywhere. Sad.

    I didn't get it from Steam. So doesn't seem to be on any panels.

    So why can't I get distance info on Pole Hill and Otringham ? I have been getting distance info from them for 30 years.

    All my life I've had distance readings from almost all VOR's.

    Well, on FSX I got distance readings from Pole Hill (112.1) and Otringham ((113.9). Now I don't.

    I don't know about benchmarks and clock speeds and such stuff, I just know that an RTX 2080 with a AMD Ryzen 9 3900X runs silky smooth with everything on Ultra. Runs smoother than FSX ever could.

    I fly the 172 (non glass) a lot. After days I have figured out how to tune the nav radios but where do I get to see distance information ? I can get the bearings ok, but it's a bit useless without distance (of course unless you use 2 VOR's and triangulate). But why should I have to do that ? Where can I see the distance please anyone ? I have a more basic problem with the glass cockpits of things like the Daher and Citation. I don't even know how to tune the nav radios in those, so I can't navigate at all in those. Got to go, I've got the Panama Canal coming into view ! Any help would be appreciated.

    I have also had problems with death dives to the right or left. Particularly with the King. I solve it by re-loading MSFS and then starting a new flight from scratch. I have just taken off in the 787 and it kept going violently nose up until I crashed. Just before impact I noticed that the aircraft had for some reason gone to full nose up trim. This has also happened with the Citation.

    Ah. I wondered why I couldn't see it. I could see the patch of land where it should be though. You live and learn.

    I have deleted FSX. This runs smoother than FSX (although it's true I have just spent £3,000 on a new PC). I know there are issues and frustrations with it, but when I look at it, I don't care. My Saitek X52 system only has about 25% functionality with it, again, don't care. This is the future alright.

    I regretted uninstalling FSX for a couple of days, but then I bought a PC that cost more than a car. Now I don't regret anything at all.

    Aaaah after 2 days trying I got it working. I downloaded and installed the Xbox App. Then it worked.
