No content manager since the program was installed, but why would the program install with only 2 of 8 training lessons. I didn't decline any options when installing.
There are a lot of questions regarding how things are installed/updated with this sim. You should be able to go to Profile/Content Manager and see the 8 training flights listed. Some of them are probably not installed yet and you can do it there.

Do you have Flight Model = Modern?

OP,
It appears that the CJ won't switch to using the the ILS for guidance if you have a GPS plan which heads to the airport. You can tell it to use VOR 1 with the ILS frequency entered and it shows you the lateral guidance bar, but it continues to follow the magenta line to the middle of the airport. I think I'm doing it correctly, but no joy.
I tried this on short flights from KSJC to KSFO 28L. It will use the ILS guidance if I don't enter a flight plan and just takeoff and head in the direction of SFO.
The FMS system in the Longitude is much easier and seems to work fine in this regard.

Have you tried whatever you have key bound to "Toggle Pushback"? I use "Shift P" for this and it's probably the default. I just tried that with a cold dark King Air and the tug first drove under the plane and then came back out and connected and moved me back.
-
Sometimes it takes a while for the tug to connect. He drives around for a while before connecting.

Thanks. I have tried pressing the ESC key but that only returns me to the OPTIONS screen where you can select GENERAL, ASSISTANCE and CONTROLS and if I press the ESC key again then it returns back to the screen displayed before pressing the ESC key for the first time.
When you are returned to the OPTIONS screen, move your mouse to the bottom and you’ll see something like “Return to Main Menuâ€. That’s where you want to go.
As Hobbit says, you can also turn on Developer Mode and change the aircraft there, but Dev Mode might bring on some other problems.
-
The ESC key should allow you to go back to the main menu without quitting the whole program.
-
Nope, you did not miss it.
That being said, did you engage the parking brake? I've found that I need to do that in order for the flight to register. Others have found that you need to shut the plane down as well (doesnt matter for me, but I do the parking brake just to be sure.
I would do a 1 hour flight around KJAX, land and the sim not record my flight.
Also, if you are in Developer mode, I don't think it will record your flights either.
I’ve had good results with the logbook and I always park and set the Parking Brake.

In your defense, one would expect the content that you purchased to download automatically. Some folks, like myself, had to download all but two planes - only the 152 and 930 were installed out of the box.
This game (sim...sorry) is a like a trophy wife. Very pretty, but a bit of an enigma, and sometimes temperamental.
I like comparing it to a trophy wife, but I think the same comparison can be made to the old lady.
-
Check the Content Manager. You probably have to download them.

I have CH Pro Yoke.
It's hard to control the aircraft. I've tried tweaking the control's.
I've been in fight sim since FS95 and have never had this problem.
A little more info on what you’ve tried would be helpful.
For starters, Flight Model = Modern is your friend.

It seems like the issue is the icing and that would be expected in a real plane like the 172 that is not certified for icing conditions. Ice builds up on the wings which reduces lift and adds weight.
You must have found the pitot heat switch or you would soon start seeing erroneous reading of airspeed as well.

Thanks for the tip, it is useful..
Unfortunately, it did not solve my dilemma :(
Can you post a pic of what the messed up plan comes out looking like and we can try to recreate it?
-
The MSFS flight planner can give weird results when adding waypoints. I’ve found it seems to work OK if I make sure to click on the line between the 2 points where I want to add a new waypoint. It highlights that leg and then adds the new point between them.
Give that a try and I hope it works for you.

Is it possible that you've got a Community Folder problem like the guy in this thread? He ended up with Community Folder in 2 different places.
-
I just completed a flight in the Longitude and the plan showed up fine. A few days ago someone had a similar problem in the CJ and they found it was fixed after restarting the sim.
Good luck.

You can start a flight from anywhere by clicking any spot on the map. It defaults to 5,000 feet, but you can change that by selecting a higher cruise altitude in the Nav Log in the to right.
-
Nice job in trying to trouble shoot this yourself. That's a lot of good info. You are in Modern flight model I assume. And you say that Assistance is OFF, that means under Options, not the one at the top of the screen when you're in the plane?
I just tried a circuit in the 787 at 5,000 ft. It is hard to get it to level off without pulling back the throttle quite a bit. Here is what I did:
Flaps 15 for takeoff. Disconnect Autothrottle. Left the AP off and didn't touch any other AP commands like ALT.
After takeoff, gear up, start bringing up flaps. Left them at 5 degrees for the circuit. Throttle back to N1=67. Stick forward to level off and a little trim down. Speed about 200kts onto downwind then start adding flaps, gear and slowing down.

I've seen some videos with the HUD in the 787 in color. For example the set speed in the top left shows in Magenta and the AP commands show in Green just like the PFD. What I don't know is if these are add-on planes or not.
My standard 787 HUD is 1980's monochrome green. Anybody have color on their standard 787 HUD?
Thanks.

There does seem to be a correlation between "negative MSFS issues" and throwing aftermarket add-ons onto a new and developing piece of software?
Just as there seems to be a relationship with running the sim at levels one's hardware easily supports and not experiencing 'negative MSFS issues"?
I could of course be easily mistaken.
I think from now on when I answer a question like this I will state "my version has no add-ons". :)

Can someone please tell me what the yellow * and ! markers indicate on the destination maps. Thnx
I think you mean these yellow items? The star is for higher quality airports, in this case KSFO. The ! is for a new point of interest, in this case Alcatraz. I think the ! goes away after you've visited there because I used to have severaly in Monument Valley, but they went away after I went through there.

Is the EGT gauge working with others. I am leaning the mixture but the gauge is not moving
It seems to be working for me. Here is what I tried:
Level at 6,000, full throttle, full mix. Exterior view shows RPM 2588. I set the red EGT bar where the EGT was.
80% mix = 2603 RPM and EGT moves up about 1 bar.
60% mix = 2620 and EGT up about 1.5 bars.
40% mix = only 2615 and EGT up about 5 bars.

1. On my first flight back in August, I saw 2 ships near the Golden Gate Bridge. Since then, I have not seen a single ship or boat on the ocean. Where are they?
2. ATC sends me typed messages, but no voice. There must be a setting somewhere in Options, right?
3. The MSFS Trailer shows impressive wave action. How do you get this? (Or maybe you can't.)
Thanks all,
Mac6737
I would try tis:
1. General/Traffic/Land and Sea Traffic. Increase it.
2. General/Sound/Text to Speech = Azure.
3. General/Graphics/Water Waves = High.
Hope that helps.
Where are the nameplates?
in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion

You might check for these settings, it's how I've got it set up and I see the nameplates and traffic:
Options/General/Traffic/Aircraft Traffic Type = "Real-Time Online"
In flight planner under Flight Conditions: Multiplayer = "Live Players". Air Traffic = "Live Traffic"
Does that help?
