I think someone is editing/deleting posts to this thread without telling us.

He won’t benefit from an RTX30 series card without changing his PSU, CPU (& possibly motherboard) & ram.. new computer basically. Expensive!
Regards
Steve
Why is that?
-
If you hit windows-G it will bring up a game resourse monitor, so you can see exactly what your using. If anything is only half used, no point in upgrading it. I recommend a rtx 3080 graphics card.

how do u switch aircraft mid flight or is it possable...
The title of your post isn't very informative

The update deleted some key assignments. You just go into settings and reassign them. It's in camera/cockpit. Something like move cockpit view left/right. Move cockpit view up/down.
-
Hello all
Before the update, wen I use the arrow key in cockpit he slide to left, right, up or down.
Now does nothing.
Someone with the same issue?
Best regards
Yes, exact same thing. I reassigned them in settings and they work ok.
-
After the update, my arrows keys would no longer move around the cockpit. I reassigned them in settings and they're working ok.

Every question I've asked has been answered.
Here's a new question: I want to add a second monitor so that I can always have the cockpit view available. tomorrow lots of monitors go on sale.
I'm now using a GTX 1080 Ti video card which has one HDMI port and three display ports. I'm using the HDMI to feed my current monitor which is only HDMI. My MB chipset has an HDMI output that is unused.
How shall I go about this?
As far as I know, there's no way to have the cockpit view, and an external view, displayed at the same time, either on one screen, or on separate monitors. That's one thing I dislike the most about msfs 2200.

The title says it all. The only posts that have replies here are the ones that are either bashing MS or Asobo or comments to published articles. If you are a newbie ands ask any questions about the Sim, the post gets hundreds if not thousands of views, but nobody take the time to reply. I guess it goes back to an article that was published here a while back about the state of the community. We are not flying the friendly skies anymore.
If you know of a link to a good FS forum for newbies, just put it on the reply. Thank you!
I've looked at other forums, and, like it or not, this one seems to be the best.

The way it is now, if you try add ons, you have to expect trouble.

Just did an ILS landing with the a320 neo. It also uses nav1 for the ILS.
-
In real life, if there's not a glide slope on both radios, it'll normally be the number one NAV that has the glide slope on it. Not many Cubs have that capability, though there are a few.
Ok thanks. I didn't know that.
-
I've been trying to do a ils landing with the xcub for a while, but it hasn't been working. I haven't been getting the line on the display telling me which
Side of the runway I'm on. I set the nav2 frequency to the ils frequency, turn nav2 on and set the gps/vor switch to vor.
But then I noticed on the display,it was saying vor1.
So I set the nav1 frequency to the ils frequency and selected nav1, and then i got the line, so the ils landing worked! But i thought planes always use nav2 for the ils frequency?

I'm not sure you can avoid updates. Generally, they make it better anyway.

Anybody notice sometimes the yoke won't hide? It just happened to me on the tbm 930.

Silly survey as it keeps throwing you back to an early page when it seems to think you have given a contradictory answer. No indication how much % you have completed either.
I gave up and closed the Tab.
Same with me.

Are you in Legacy mode? If so, change it to Modern in Options/Flight Model. The Legacy mode will only be active in 'free flight', that's why you can still fly as normal in a mission/training flight, but it should only be used if flying an FSX imported plane.
I had one plane that was flying terrible in fsx mode, and I changed it to modern, and it worked fine. Then, I had another plane, that was flying terrible in modern mode, and I changed it to fsx mode, and it worked fine. They were both planes that came with fs2200.
-
FSX wasn't wrong as such, it was incomplete.
The complex FSX payware planes used autopilot code which already existed within FSX, but which wasn't fully used in the default FSX planes.
The default MSFS autopilots are on a par with the FSX Carenado payware autopilots, for example.
What I meant by wrong, is that you couldn't fly the real plane, they way it flew in fsx. So I guess that's true. I don't mind them changing it to a accurate model, but they should tell you how to fly it with documentation, rather than force you to learn it by trial and error, or reading forums, or watching YouTube videos.
-
Today - trying to set up an intercontinental flight in MSFS - I started thinking longingly of the Autopilots in the original FSX tubeliners. You set the desired altitude, heading, speed and rate of climb/descent, AND THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GOT - NO MORE - NO LESS. Remember that? The autopilot would not try to outsmart you or do other things on its own.
I am an old fuddydut for sure (and not aspiring to become a real pilot), but I don't understand the big push for complex, self-flying/thinking airplanes, self-driving cars, etc. What do we really gain by reducing our required skills and attention trusting computers more than people? Remember the 737 MAX disasters?
Sorry! just felt like venting.
I agree 100%! Except you didn't have to set the vs. It was set automatically to the default vs when you turn altitude on.
So was fsx so wrong, or is fs2200 wrong? Does anybody know that?

Three days ago we got hit by a typhoon, which knocked out my internet.
I wanted to see if msfs2200 would still run. I ran it, and it said "no internet
detected do you want to run in offline mode?". I said yes and I ran it.
I still wanted to get the bing scenery, so I flew from the same airport i
Had flown the day before. I thought the rolling cache would have the
Bing scenery. But it didn't have the good scenery, only the fsx type scenery.
I checked my settings, and the rolling cache was set to 0. I don't know how it
Got like that, maybe because I was offline.
Today still no Internet. I flew from an area that I had previously saved a
manual cache. I checked the settings, and it was still there. But when I flew,
still no bing scenery.
So what's the point of the cache? My wife lives where there is no Internet,
and I was hoping to take my laptop there, and have bing scenery, but it
Doesn't seem to work that way.

I'm flying the a320 after today's update. I'm on autopilot, altitude and speed. Speed was 303 knots. I was climbing but
The vs was only 500 fpm. I changed it to 1,800 fpm. So it increase the climb rate, but then it decreased the speed to 255
Even though it was only at 60% power. Then after it got to my altitude, it increased the speed back to 303, like it didn't,
Want to use full power. Why would it do that? It seems like on autothrottle, it doesn't want to go above 59% power.

Sure would be great if a developer could improve Oahu. Honolulu, Pearl Harbor, (USS Arizona, USS Missouri are missing - maybe even add an carrier we can land on like was done in the San Diego package - etc. sure could use improvement. I know I'd buy that addon.
The Arizona sank. It's still there but underwater.
-
Some can be used but they have to be modified first and don't work 100%. Do a google search to find programs that convert them.
-
ha it's Orbx scenery will look at that later, thanks for suggestion Tiger....
Even if it's a addon, it should still work ok. It's called backward compatibility. You can't expect vendors to have to change their addon's after every update. And it shouldn't crash the program. It's called error handling. Always blame the victim!
at last it's a new dawn in flightsim world
