There can be big waves with no wind at all in real life because they come from far away. Another asobo screw up.

I don't see any problem with that. I download from steam too, but just kept the default directory. As long as it runs ok should be good.

I've had altitude and vs off, with autopilot on, and somebody is still moving the trim.

Hi gtox. I tried it with the extra, and it didn't change the view at all. I made all 3 numbers significantly different. The only thing it did, was make the menu system inaccessible. I had to restore the cfg file to the original to restore the menu. Maybe you can try it yourself, and see if you can get it working. Steve

I changed to eyepoint in camera.cfg and it only changed the eyepoint in cockpit view, so now my cockpit view is outside the plane.

I found out the changing autopilot heading keys aren't in autopilot settings, but in flight instruments. So I changed them to keys I have and they work good. Still having problems with altitude in autopilot though.

Is it possible to open more than one view to enable instruments to be dragged into a separate screen?

 

If so could you explain how to do it please.

Pretty stupid that you can't have the cockpit view on a separate screen!

The problem is, that's a 49 minute video!

It's not like fsx where you can select a altitude, and it will choose the default rate of climb, and go there. You have to set rate of climb or it won't do anything.

Sounds silly, I know. But the Welcome screen has no ESC option! As far as I can tell, the only way to open a saved flight is to create a new one and load it; only then does the sim give you an ESC option, so you can search for and load the flight you wanted to begin with.

 

It takes me about 5 minutes from boot-up to flight, and the extra step takes another three minutes.

 

Am I missing something? Or are the people who designed this thing really that obtuse?

 

BTW, in both FSX and P3D the opening screen had a "Load" tab, permitting you to go straight to any saved scenario. Given that this bright idea has been in MS FlightSim for at least 20 years, I have to wonder what kind of perverse mind would decide to eliminate it in the new product. But, as I say, I may be missing something.

try shift + ctrl + insert or delete as needed.

Going to add using the mouse would be a bit easier I think.

 

Ctrl delete made heading rotate counterclockwise. Shift ctrl delete did nothing. Insert and delete are the same key on my laptop. Delete is above insert on the key. Any ideas. I just got this computer. Steve

Ctrl+shift+1 gives you a fixed external view behind the aircraft, if that's what you're thinking of. You can edit the camera position and angle in the cameras.cfg file in the folder of each aircraft.

 

I found the camera.cfg file but it doesn't have position or angle. It has eyepoint, is that what you mean. It has 22 camera definitions for this plane. I don't want to make changes without knowing for sure. Thanks steve

I sent microsoft support a question on how to display the autopilot panel in external or showcase view. They said they were changing it from a question, to a request for a new feature, so apparently it can't be done now.

I've been trying spotlight view but the horizon keeps tilting. I wonder if there's any way to keep the horizon level automatically in spotlight view.

I bought a new computer just for fs2200. I'm just mad about all the things wrong with it. I don't think myself,or anyone else who criticizes it, wants it to fail, but we're not happy with all it's faults.

But I want to change the heading in the showcase view, so I`m not seeing the instrument panel.

There are no key assignments to change the heading in autopilot. Am I missing something?

I have a brand new fairly good computer, and I'm disappointed with the graphics. All the YouTube videos looked so good but what I'm seeing is definitely computer generated.

What is your internet connection speed? Most of the scenery is stored on the net. If you have a slow internet connection, all your hardware won't help. You might also post a screenshot of your settings page. There are lots of things to manage other than "ultra". You also don't mention your monitor? What resolution are you running?

 

If your internet speed is too slow, wouldn't the program tell you? I'm assuming it would.

It seems asobo/black shark just leave out anything they feel like. Several small islands In the Philippines, where i go swimming, are totally left out, even though they're clearly visable on google maps.
