  1. hello everyone. I came across this set of shaders developed for Combat Flight Simulator 3, which was the direct forerunner of FS2004. they use the d3d8.dll and somehow add cockpit shadows, aircraft shadows (it casts shadows on itself) and probably the coolest of all, cloud shadows. I have know idea if it is even possible, but if anyone here has any knowledge of editing and tweaking or knows somebody who knows this stuff, there may be a way to add these items for FS2004 and make it look closer to modern day sims. just a thought. if you know of anything you could do feel free to drop a comment.

  2. hope I don't get banned for this but here goes.

As we all know Active Camera's purchase site was through http://www.anticyclone.be/ which went down a few years back. I believe simmarket picked up the sales and had it on their website for a while. however it is no longer for sale anywhere and has essentially disappeared off the face of the internet. I was never able to buy it since I got FS2004 only two or three years back, and didn't know AC even existed. (stock simmer) after finding out about it I tried to find it to purchase but never could. I concluded that it was gone forever and life went on. I came across a crack for active camera but it was for version 2.0 and FS9.0, but after I purchased the ifly 737 and updated my sim to FS9.1 the crack no longer worked. again I was without AC. Then about a month ago I was surfing youtube and stumbled across a youtube video with only a couple hundred views. the person I am I read the description and find a google drive link to the activecamera.dll for FS9.1!!! I downloaded it and installed AC 2.1 into the sim. to my complete shock, upon copying the crack over to the modules folder, I had a fully working Active Camera. as far as I know it is the only remaining good copy of Active camera 2.1 left on the internet so I have it saved to multiple spots on both my drive and my PC so I'll never lose it.

with the backstory out of the way, I made a youtube video which I think i'll remake for better clarity, but I have all the needed links including the crack in the video description. I don't know if it would be considered piracy or not, but I cannot legally buy it anymore because it no longer exists. so I use it.

If it doesn't work or if you have trouble, I'll help as best as I can.

  3. hello, I cannot seem to find Flightbeam's KSFO for FS2004 for sale anywhere. I've emailed them and have not yet received a reply. It seems that many companies are taking down all their FS2004 products. can anyone help?
  4. Hello Everyone. the United Starwars livery for the ifly 737 is now released! I want to thank Enko for helping get this repaint looking the way it does, because it looks amazing! I put up a video on youtube showcasing this repaint. if you have the ifly, this repaint is available for download here and over at avsim.com!

  6. dynamic weather will change weather conditions in the sim based on atmospheric conditions generated, the rate of change determines how fast or slow the weather changes. there are flights in the select a flight tab of FS9 that demonstrate the weather changes, showing cumulus clouds building or dissipating.
  7. hello. So I am wondering if there is a way to get night lighting to come on earlier than it does. I know it is tied to sunset, so is there a number I can change? the reason i'm asking is because the ifly VC lighting comes on too late and for around 20-30 minutes the flight deck is very dark, forcing me to use the overhead lights, along with the outside lighting not coming on and the runway lights not coming on either. any help is appreciated. thanks!
  8. I have had trouble in the past with stuff not working. it didn't cost much so i'll post in the support forum and if it doesn't solve the problem then i'll just have to stick with FSRealwx. i've never had luck with firewall. It worked once for one time and then it hasn't since then. but again, ill post in their forum.
  9. fsrealwx only gives the weather data. Where clouds are, what temperature it is. (two data servers to choose from).

It also has options for maximum number of cloud layers, how often the weather updates, etc.

What that weather LOOKS like in fs depends on the cloud settings you choose in fs. 3d clouds or not, cloud density setting, etc. (and on what cloud textures you may have installed.).

I have everything completely maxed out in FS9

  10. for those of us who still use the old wilco A320 series, you know that the model sucks. so do the textures. it all around looks like garbage straight out of the box. however, with a good paint kit, patience, and some new textures, this old bird can look pretty snazzy. I have made and released two new repaints for this bird over on the avsim library. these two repaints are for American and Lufthansa, both being the new colors. I hope to keep this aircraft in my hangar and finally have a decent airbus with systems and FMC in my hangar and flying.

if you would like to download them, head over to the avsim library and search Joshua Moore. enjoy!

  11. I'm using FSrealWX and i'm quite happy with it, however I also tried FSGRW, which allows you to get ACARS data with the ifly 737. however when trying to use FSGRW, it would give me a connection error saying it couldn't connect to the servers. i'm fine with FSrealwx though.
  12. I have found the problem, but it has opened another. So the toe brake axis went out on my rudder pedals, and I route everything through FSUIPC. well the left axis came back. sort of. but in the default Control Joystick Axis assignments, the brake axis were enabled along with the rudder axis itself. this caused the left brake to be on all the time. so I delete those entries and tada the problem is fixed. except for when i restarted the sim and went back into the Control Assignments, they were enabled again. I cannot delete them and have them stay deleted. every time I restart the sim they show back up again, and this is only with the rudder pedals.
  13. Hello. I am having a problem and I'm not sure what is causing it. I go to taxi, and this goes for any aircraft. i'll use the Ifly 737. before it would only need 30-40% n1 to start taxi and then it would work fine with the throttle at idle. now, I can put the throttle at 60% n1 and it will not move. it will start to move but only around 80% n1 and will only begin to actually gain some speed at full power. in order to taxi I have to keep it above half way. on takeoff it works fine, though I am noticing a longer takeoff roll. I'm not sure why this is but it feels like a parking brake is on even with it off! I reinstalled FSUIPC to no avail, and google did not help. any help is appreciated. thanks
