Awesome! Glad to hear. I found out through a friend that in the Nvidia inspector, setting anti aliasing compatibility to Diablo III is what allows the sim to use the settings. one simple setting that I could never find, and a friend brought it up as an "oh yeah by the way"

when you went to start it up, did it do anything? any error? anything in the process menu?

another thing may be you need to update to 9.1, install the nocd patch for 9.1, and set compatibility to run with XP service pack 3.

Yea I bought it nearly 10 years ago and installed it on a new computer however there was no reply to the activation email

GREY AREA: I was able to find a working crack for Active Camera 2.1 and shared it since you cannot purchase it. its just the .dll file.

try this. these are my settings. I use nvidia inspector for antialiasing and SweetFX for color corrections. try them and see what happens. like piet06273 said, it's trial and error

 

the other thing to look through are addons I posted in this video. if you look around on my channel you can also get Active Camera for your sim and enhance the views.

Hello all. I went to make a flight with the PMDG 747-400 and found that after loading the aircraft, I could do everything as normal. But about 15 minutes into flight preps I press the alt key and immediately with no errors or anything the sim just closes. Almost like pressing ALT + F4. I've had it before but it only happened once. I'm curious to why it is doing this. And it's only with the PMDG 747

Excellent!!! I also still fly FS2004, I have mixed various freeware files to get clouds, water, land areas to look quite good. I only wish there were more CITY areas modeled, as I feel a good city makes it look better. I stll fly a PMDG B-737-700 with AIRAC's that are current. Only thing bad is that I hear VATSIM will soon plan to drop the ability to use FS9.

I hope to have a new system so I can do all the work that needs to be done to get FSX to look and run as well as FS9 is.

I feel in quite a few areas that FS9 can look as good as FSX/P3D/XPlane11. There are after all areas of Photo Scenery that can do this.

Great to see someone else still enjoyig and flying a great looking FS9 setup.

 

I sure hope they don't drop FS9 support on VATSIM. that is why I have the sim to begin with. why do you still fly the PMDG FS9 version? why not the ifly?

ahh haha ok! yeah I noticed they did stop that, which kind of sucks. I try my best on the repaints, but they are for my hangar, so they don't need to be perfect. the United repaint was one that I partnered up with another painter to make possible. I'll check your repaints out!

Awesome!! That's what I was going for when I made it! I'll probably be making a video going through using SweetFX since after that video I had issues with ENB and switched to SweetFX only, which I prefer and is what you see in the screenshots

as for the legitness of the textures, ORBX has not done anything to take them down, and they are available from multiple sites. being that they are not in the FS2004 market and the textures cant really be used with FSX cause the smaller size and different format, the grey area there is something I wish to avoid. however i will gladly edit my video if they do reach out and remove the link I found. we'll see.

just make sure if you do download from that site, be sure to have an adblocker.

I rarely fly north of Anchorage so it doesn't make much difference to me.

if you search it, you can find ORBX textures for FS2004 that were converted from FSX. it's like ORBX converted version 5.1 i believe.

I use ORBX Converted for FS2004

Thanks!!! If I turbo boost it to 3.877, do I need to get water cooling to do so? what about an air cooler? i've been wanting to take it to 4.0ghz but with a base of 3.4, the turbo boost would help even.

 

also I'd take off the 30fps limit on FS9. it is much more enjoyable at 60fps and your PC can handle that easily. just a suggestion.

thank you! That's actually a mistake on my part. it should have said Immersive Audio. its the sounds for the ifly in the video link. any shader I used was from SweetFX.

haha thanks! i've tried FSX (I own the Gold edition) and i've found it to be very hard to run. FS004 i get 50-60 no problem, (60hz refresh rate monitor) but with FSX I got 15-40 with low settings. turn it up and my FPS got a boost up to 35-50, but that was default so I don't think it would do well with the PMDG and addons. for me its "i've got a sim that others wish they could have, i've got my FPS, i've got the addons, I know the thing inside and out. why upgrade? for shadows, better ground textures? more autogen? to me it's not worth the cost of FPS for extra eye candy. i'm content and can fly my heart out.

that said, if you ever think of coming back to FS9, I can give you some pointers to make it look almost like FSX minus self casting shadows on the airplane!
