  1. Paulco, I have been sitting on that Content Server error since early September. Over a month now and still no resolution. It could be a while. Hal
  2. Not even near going Nuclear yet. Just seems strange that a network problem would take this long to sort out. I am patiently waiting for another update. I can get the required updates in the Sim but that is all. Sim updated to the latest patch, but will go no further. Things will work out in the end.
  3. Good evening, where I am. Is anyone else out there getting the message in the title. Image of the error window attached. I have not been able to use the sim for more than 2 weeks now, since the update in mid September. I have reported this on Zendesk and received the following response: "Hi Hal, Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Our team is aware of the issue and is currently investigating. We will come back to you as soon as we have found out the cause of the problem or if we require further information/files. Best regards, Microsoft Flight Simulator Support Team" I have done the usual, tried a repair, no difference. Tried an uninstall and reinstall but that made it worse, because of course I cannot access the content servers. If I start the Sim right now I get into an endless loop of this error above with the option to quit or report to Zendesk. Clicking on QUIT logs me out of X-Box and tries to log me back in resulting in getting the above message again. Because I am using full screen, which I cannot change until I get into the Sim, I have to use Task Manager to shut the process down. No fun on my end until a solution is found. If anyone has any suggestions short of reinstalling Windows, I am all ears. Thanks, Hal
  4. Stanley, From the Home page, or Welcome screen, click on 'OPTIONS', Then look for 'CONTROLS', click on the controls tab, Now look along the top of the window that opens, you should see your controllers. One will be labeled 'Keyboard'. Yo may have to scroll to the left somewhat to see Keyboard, depending on the number of controllers you have connected. Click on 'Keyboard' to set your keyboard assignments. Look to the left of the window and look for the command list. Not sure of the heading of the drop down. It may say in the little window 'Assigned'. If so change it to 'All' Now to the right look through the choices for the AutoPilot commands. Expand the list and look for 'Toggle Heading Hold'. Assign a key to this command. Hope this helps. Hal
  5. I got the basic patch, but no other content after entering the Sim. Problem here for sure, just not sure where. Mine is MS Store purchase. When I launched the Sim today I got notification there was a mandatory download. It opened MS Store and I was updated to version 1.8.3.0. But no other download when the Sim loaded. Hal
  6. Same here. I log into(onto) my computer with my Microsoft account. I have it set up with the 4 digit pin number. I have reported it on Zendesk and hope to get a reply. They have sent an email saying they received the report. Thanks again for our interest. It is a strange one for sure. Hal
  7. I am showing logged in with X-Box gamer tag. But if I try changing to Microsoft, my credentials take me to the X-Box gamer tag anyway. There are so many accounts now that a person needs it is difficult to know which one to use. My Microsoft account is linked to X-Box and Skype accounts. I log into all 3 computers at home with my Microsoft account (pin number log in). Everything is synched and critical files are stored on the cloud. This was working when first installed. Sometime after that it quit. but I did not notice right away. I am thinking it is a log in problem, but where to start. I have logged out of X-box and logged back in under Microsoft, but because my accounts are linked it just logs me in as my X-Box gamer tag. It hurts too much to pull my own hair out, but hoping to get this working somehow. Don't think is has anything to do with the problem, but I pre-purchased through Microsoft Sore. Thanks for taking a bit of interest tiger1962. Hal
  8. Just bringing this up to the front again. Marketplace is still greyed out on my system. I am showing as logged in to X-Box, but server shows as automatic and never connecting. Friends and groups buttons are also greyed out. In task manager Flight Simulator show as connected and using network resources, so I know it is actually connected. My internet connection is fine and fast. System specs below. I have checked and double checked all settings in the sim for online connectivity. Everything is set to on. I tried the repair option, no change. I have the Microsoft Store download version. Up to date. Windows 10 version 1909. Have tried multiple times to upgrade to 2004 but it never happens. Says it does but still shows as 1909. I am hoping that I do not have to do a complete re-install of the sim or windows. Just did a new window install 3 week ago, just before installing MSFS. Have tried many suggestions from other sites to no avail. I have submitted a report to Zendesk. Anyone have any suggestions. Hal
  9. Al l have to do is go to the welcome screen and click "Exit to Desktop" Might say "Quit to Desktop", don't have the sim running right now. Should be bottom left of the screen. Hal
  10. Thanks for the video. Sometimes just watching videos for the sake of watching them can lead you to a little better place. I would never have thought to turn off V-Sync. But the difference was amazing. It is easily going to be one of the better tools going forward, if I encounter performance issues. Hal
  11. Some here might Scoff at me, but yes you can fly IFR without the autopilot. It is not easy, especially in MSFS, but can be done. You can offload some of the work to the Co-pilot as would happen in real aircraft. I too like to hand fly a lot. In FSX my main aircraft is the CRJ700. I almost always fly the departure to cruise altitude, then fly the descent from TOD to the gate. I just like doing it. Can't do this yet in MSFS, firstly because there is no CRJ700, and secondly because I am in the re-learning stage. Fly it the want you want to, and have fun with it. Hal
  12. Just a bit of an update to this thread. I just made a bit of a discovery that might help those who use more than 1 monitor like I do. If you have read the thread you will see that I lose all controls of the aircraft when I move my mouse to any opened child window of the Sim. Whether on the main monitor or one of the additional monitors. What I just found out is that control loss only happens if you undock the window to move it to another monitor. This video will show:
  13. This is a video that can assist with most performance issues. I have some issues like everyone. I followed along with the video and saw that my installation was limited by the Main Thread as was his. I was not getting the CTD's but tried to get the issue with the Main thread resolved. I was restricted to 18 - 25 FPS and all red in the show FPS window. I tried his idea to turn off the traffic. No Change, then reset the traffic to what I was using. I then moved to the Graphics tab. First setting I changed was V-Sync. I had it set to on, turned it off, clicked Apply & Save and boom FPS went to 50. Still shows limited by Main thread but all green and some yellow. You can see real time the effect on FPS when you click Apply & Save. Play with the settings to see which ones you can increase and which you might have to decrease. One at a time is best to see what happens. Hal
  14. You can create a folder for your saved plans. Mine is on my cloud, accessible to all my devices. Save your plan to your chosen folder. In MSFS use the Load/Save button, then navigate to your folder and load the plan. Pretty simple once you do it once. Hal
  15. Good afternoon, As the title says, I can no longer access the Marketplace in the Sim. Only noticed this yesterday. I have used it previously. Anyone else have the issue or know what is happening? Thanks, Hal
  16. Mouse is USB, plugged into USB 2 port. I think I have checked that, but I will fire up MSFS again and go through this again. Hooked up to the system are the following controls: Ch Eclipse Yoke - Configured and working CG Pro Pedals - Working correctly Thrustmaster T16000M Flight Stick - Has default assignments Thrustmaster RWCS Throttle - Has mostly default assignments. One or two custom Mouse Keyboard I do not have any of the Hat Switches programed as yet. I am a FSUIPC user and am waiting for an update on FSUIPC7 for MSFS Not comparing, but, I have all my controls configured for FSX. Three different profiles GA, Airliners and Fighters. I am still using FSX for Virtual airlines (I normally fly a CRJ700). I have a small fleet - Cessna 172. FA18,and CRJ700 all painted with the same basic color scheme for the local Junior Hockey team. I fly all away games in the yearly schedule. You can see the fleet on my Youtube page. My Channel Your interest and help is appreciated. Hal
  17. During the installation there should have been an Icon added to your Desktop main screen. Look for a blue icon with Flight Simulator There will be no mention of 2020 as that is not in the official name. The official name is simply 'Microsoft Flight Simulator' Hope this helps. Hal
  18. Under Flight Control Surfaces, mine is exactly the same as yours. The only things assigned to the mouse are some of the Camera views. Hal
  19. I would think it has to do with what you have assigned for the throttle. Make sure you are using Throttle Axis for the throttle slider. Go to: Options, Controls, Select your Sidewinder, Power Management, Throttle, Check left side and have All selected in the filter box. Scroll through the options and find the one called Throttle Axis. Do not use anything but the one that says only Throttle Axis. Should take care of your issue. Hal
  20. Kapitan, Did not see anything in my settings for the mouse. They are the default set up when I installed the sim. Just come basic camera settings. Here is a short video that shows the issue: Hal
  21. Thanks for the suggestion Kapitan, I will check that out shortly. I have looked at most of the settings thinking I had something set wrong because this issue has not popped up very often. I was chatting with one of the Alpha testers after the release, and this issue stumped him. He had never seen it and did not have it. What I have done to test it is: Sitting parked on the ground, open the ATC, map and checklist windows. while moving the mouse to one of these windows I will operate the yoke. As soon as my mouse pointer hits one of the windows, the yoke no longer operates. I can reproduce this 100% of the time. As soon as the mouse leaves the window, control returns. As stated in my previous post, I can interact with any and all windows that are not a child of the flight sim with no control loss. I will report back when I check what I have that might be bound to the mouse in my controls. Hal
  22. I have seen the issue on the official MSFS support pages. Cannot supply a link right now. I have a ticket posted on Zendesk. Some people are reporting that they have to click back in the main sim window, but all I have to do to regain control is move my mouse pointer out of the ATC window. (or which ever window you are accessing). Also, I do not have to click in the ATC or other window. Just move my mouse to within it's space and control is gone. I have tried it in windowed mode and full screen mode. Same thing. Move the mouse to the other open window and controls cease to function. I can interact with windows that are not associated with MSFS. I use the Littlenav map server on my main machine and the application on a networked computer. I also run the task manager and a core temp app by times and can interact with all of these apps without losing control. Because I use a 3 monitor set-up, I generally move these other open windows to one of the other monitors, away from the main sim window. This issue exists whether the windows are on the main monitor or moved to a remote monitor. The two main things that I use that make it unflyable are the ATC window and the Checklist window. The problem exists in all child windows and I have noticed it in every aircraft I have tried. Sure hope it ranks a fix in one of the upcoming updates (patches). Hal
  23. For the path to connect, I am still using FSX or Prepar3d. Seem to work OK.
  24. I use Little Navmap and Little Navconnect with MSFS. Little Navmap is on a remote computer and Little Navconnect on the flight sim computer. Has been working since I first installed the new sim. I did not have to make any changes. I am on version 2.4.5. Are you trying to use it remote, or on the same computer? Hal
