I just want to be prepared I remember installing FSX cause be a real headache because of security issues. Like just where is the best place to install MSFS 2020? I have my FSX in C:\FSX but I have another drive and have my 2004 FS iin A:\Flight Simulator9.

Please don't laugh. As you see here I built a custom PC with three monitors for FSX some years ago. Now I need a new laptop with Windows 10 for my home banking needs well, don't need one but want to learn windows 10 and my HP Pavillion is like 10 years old. I wanted a hot enough laptop to at least check out MSFS first. I don't want to upgrade my triple monitor CPU to windows 10 because I love my FSX lot's of addons like aircraft carriers I built myself around the world with ai that I can land on Ha! Ha! Though I have been looking into running both windows 7 and 10 on the same PC. Back to the story, here is what I bought on sale through best buy. ASUS - ROG Zephyrus M15 15.6" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q - 1TB SSD - Prism Gray My wife asked why I needed so much computer in a laptop. Told her we do some serious banking. Ha! Ha!

THanks! I am not going to install it on this computer. I am buying a new on and just getting some information before I make the leap. The 16 ram I wasn't sure about either I did make sure I got one with the i7 processor, 16cg ram, 1TB memory and of course windows 10

What is causing the you have got the wrong aircraft error window the Aerosoft PBY see the picture. I have contacted them with no help

Just bought the UAerosoft PBY and the Midway model gives me you pick the wrong aircraft. Did some research and they say there is an update but I cannot find it. Any help?u

I wonder now why I was getting the error as the existing page filing amount was set at 8192 I gather using x 1 not x 1.5

Maybe the wrong place to post but recently I have been getting a low memory warning on my FSX computer and as you can see from my signature here it is pretty strong. So I looked up online and found that changing the paging file size would fix it. Looking into it my setting was 8000 something. So be figuring 1024 per one GB (mine being 8 GG) x 1.5, I changed mine to 12193. Seems to have corrected the issue but wanted to know if anyone knows anything on this topic and it's possible affect on if any running FSX.

That is how I start to but I didn't try that aircraft. I tried then F-18 and I believe Dino's S3 Viking without success. Thanks again.

I can't get the Iris freeware XS-3B Viking to launch off my carriers. I have tried adding different launch assistant configurations but can't get it to function. Any ideas? Except the rcbco-30 haven't tried it but I am sure I could make that work. I am referring to the FSX acceleration.

Thank you very much. Since the FSX is getting old it is getting more and more difficult to find things like the Irris F16D and F14 which I still have. I thought they had the Viking Tracker as well but can't find that either.

Awhile back I was backing up my files to an external hard drive and guess I overloaded it anyway it spit the bit and lost the last three years of the work I had with my FSX addons. Only the last three years since I had backup aircraft on another drive While going through everything I have lost my copy of Dino Cattaneo's S3B "Viking". I can't seem to find it online anywhere. Does anyone know where I might find it?

I have a puzzle. When I load the Iris F-14 it shorts out my Saitek Switch Panel and Multi Panel. I am sure it is some kind of conflict just not sure what and if I can fix it. Any ideas?

That is pretty much what Do. Spad the free on e for my Saitek switch panel and multi panel, FSUICP for the Saitek X52, Pro Yoke and a couple throttle quadrants and peddles all the're switches and the key board for the default FSX buttons. With my limite knowledge on how to use them they seem to work pretty well the the X52 pro is susceptible to re calibration occasionally especially if you turn off or reboot the cpu.

I can't find my instructions but if you Google FSX prop fixes you will find all kinds of instructions or as I do sometimes find a prop texure from another airplane that works and rename it to the one you want to fix.

I found the trouble. I was trying out the Pay for Spad. Next and it was conflicting with everything had to even go into the App Data dll.xml file to remove it from the simulator. I guess if you just used it to map everything but I have the FSUIPC4 for that.

You can fix the prop texture yourself to. Just use the DXT1 Maniputator utility and send the file over to I use paint.net and change the color from the white or grey to black. I have a set of instructions somewhere when I find them pm me and I will send you a copy. It's pretty easy once someone walks you through it.

No just the main exit. The other commands ( shift+E+2) appearred to work fine. Maybe a GHost? Ha! Ha! not really funny rather annoying.

Fifteen years I have been learning things about FSX but this one is a new one. All of a sudden the doors and canopies have started to randomly open and then close. On the ground, in the air not by a fueling spot either. I do have Saitek controls and FSUIPC (the Licenced one)and I map things to my liking but the doors have kept shift+E . I tried not using the FSUIPC but didn't help. I turned off the shift+E and soloved it but then you can't open the door so I just for kicks used shift+x and seems to have solved it however, I am one that wants to know the why and where. Anybody have any suggestions?

I know it is an old thread but one switch, my interior cockpit switch is not working just the one switch. Using Spad and doesn't work there either. The aircraft lights all work in the panel as well as the keyboard. Any ideas?
