  1. I would presume you know that all taildraggers need full back stick to apply brakes on landings (I have put a real one on its nose!!) and also within MSFS there are some adjustments to brake efficiency you can make. Otherwise get that speed down early and full flaps. Keep trying.
  2. Deleting all liveries but then reinstalling a new download of the TBM Improvement mod got panels working again ?? corrupt folder somewhere.
  3. Yes I suspect it is in the LocalCache Packages Official One store folder, but no idea where to get a reinstall form. In Content after I select TBM Improvement it goes nowhere. i.e I cannot see where to delete or reinstall. I have written to Zendesk anyway as well.
  4. Since the last update I checked a few planes and they all seemed OK but I lost the panel for the TMB 930 and the next time I tried it there was no fuselage at all just a shadow on the ground--it has become a ghost plane. Anyone got an idea how to check an individual ASOBO installed plane and reload it without reloading the whole program?
  5. Thx Tim. that little app is excellent. It is user friendly and can be moved off to another screen. Now for a full pause other than ESC. regards, John
  6. As a real world pilot with 3200 hrs and somewhere around 70 types logged from ultralight to trikes to jets but now medically retired, so far I am very happy with the existing msfs2020 and more so with the potential for improvement in the IFR areas. But after years with X-plane I really do not enjoy the "Pause" where it is really not a pause, (so you have to hit "ESC" and resume to get a pause. Secondly X-plane told you the speedup rate from real time, and had an accurate speeded up airspeed so you could know where you were at. On long flights I like to speed up but want to know what rate I am at and when to ease back to real time. Come on microsoft/asobo get with it on these two upgrades please and make this old BC bush pilot happier. Thx John
  7. You may be right but I would not and do not leave it permanently open, and anyway the updates will still be there for you to update next time you do a reopening, so far I am having no problems leaving it open for a few days when doing similar flights or one of the "adventures" . I think a "very bad idea" is one that does not work, not just one not yet tried. So I can be your guinea pig. Just playing with the Britten Norman Islander right now and it is a beautiful download with so many details. Best regards John
  8. I started off shutting down FS2020 after flying but lately to save loading time I am just putting Windows to SLEEP mode and leaving the program open. Curious to learn what other do, of course with a new plane or scenery etc then it needs to restart. So far it works fine this way. John D, Nelson BC Canada
  9. Nice video and looks like a great job, flown in one and logged 2-3 hours flying one as well (real world--in British Columbia). My favourite twin as it is SLOW and fun, noisy and rattly. Oh and you have to fly it. SO Just purchased this one to have some nostalgia. John
  10. It does seem as though you can hit ESC and have a normal pause and return with "Resume" John
  11. Fully agree with Tim, we need a real pause that simply puts everything on hold as per FSX.
  12. Yes I was talking about X-plane primarily, I cannot see what 9/11 has to do with removing crashes from flightsim versions and X-plane was richer with the actual crashes showing and yes it was part of the fun. If I have to do a gear up landing it would be nice to actually see it, not just a black screen. I am sure when it no longer politically incorrect to have crashes we may see them again.
  13. I sure hope future versions of MSFS2020 will include decent graphics of the crashes. Yes we all try (of course) never to crash but I always found it so much fun to actually see the crash and burn in older flightsims and most of them did it really well. It is now just really boring to crash into the slide of mountain in a CFIT crash and get "you damaged your landing gear" etc etc. I hope the opportunity to turn on graphics for crashes if offered in the future. As a 3200 hour real-world pilot I used to feel terrible when crashing but now it is part of the fun !!! Just like I usually burst out laughing when I crash one of my model RC planes these days.
  14. Thanks Tim, will try that process, I am sure it will help.
  15. Yes I do open from the link normally, and was only doing it the latter way after I ran into this problem. Probably just accidentally double mouse clicking.
  16. When I exit a flight with the ESC button and then return to main menu, trying to exit program, it seems to take forever, I often end up going to Taskmanager to close down flightsim. The other weird thing is that it often seems to load two copies of MSFS even if I only load form the OPEN on right clicking the program. Anyone else had either of these?? ps running a pretty fast computer and very good graphic card.
  17. Sure same process. but they come up as split screen and are smaller then. Alt + works for several devices. I run on 3 monitors.
  18. For sfojimbo Right ALT and move mouse over the G1000 then move it wherever you want.
  19. Also a pilot, if that is relevant, (Commercial and 3200 hrs) in the "Real world", but all views of the cockpits are easily available on the keyboard settings, just use the up/down/L/R arrows and move your viewpoint and have a set key (or space bar) to get back to normal flying view. Other planes will come oh and BTW ALT and + let you move the windows out to another monitor. I move the Garmin 1000 to a 2nd monitor to be able to see it all the time and then fly with view forward and mostly outside unless in hard IFR.
  20. I have tried two different runs on the A320 and one was trying the A320 flight in the Guide to MSFS2020, the other in the Eurowings mission flights, but I am having trouble getting the 320 to respond to any throttle input. Park brake is off of course it just does not want to move ahead, but yet the PFD indicates a speed build up when I put throttle on!! I am missing something very dumb I am sure. Ideas welcome.
  21. I paid $100 but I had an arduino 2560 laying around, just a Funduino, they are fairly cheap and the nextion is not too bad but yes perhaps $200 totoal, compare to several instruments it can replace.
  22. Are there any users of Class Echo with MSFS2020? I have just assembled one and installed it with minimal effort and it is incredibly powerful for controlling most aspects of flights. https://shakeprint.com/ Really a quite an amazing device, runs with Nextion 4.3" screen and t ouch screen, plus an Arduino Mega2560. Be interesting to have a forum discussion from users. One topic that interests me are the interactions with logitech units and the honeycomb Alpha yoke and Throttle units.
  23. I just sent my supposedly highly rated laptop back on purchase warranty/return as it was so hot as soon as I ran FS2020 that the company's reassurances were just not making me happy. I am sure the laptop was an excellent one but 85-90 degrees centigrade with rolling mat (5 fans) underneath caused me to go back to now buying a desktop. So just beware that fs2020 is very demanding. JD
  24. Don't forget that real men don't fly flight simulators also, just real plane alone. I like both. Not sure what the point of " I will pass " is anyway, it was an informational message on flights not a survey!
