  1. Nice! I wonder if that will show up in my XP11 ortho?
  2. Look up fsscreen.zip in the library. It takes a screenshot when you hit the 'printscreen' key. I've used it forever. It saves the screenshots in whatever folder you put fsscreen in.

Can you post your panel config here, and what aircraft is it?
  4. Did you see this one about AI aircraft, wonder if it's why it happens near an airport. Assuming you have AI installed https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?312323-How-I-solved-R6025-pure-virtual-function-call
  5. This was the zip name, for anyone that doesnt already have the updates. Didn't know about the link issue. m1dg_udp.zip This is the readme, so I assume anything after 2008 is good. Albany, Jax, and Birmingham have been redone since. ----------------------------------------- M1DG Update Pack - v1 (May 9, 2008) This pack will update the following ten sceneries to current M1DG standards. ALB AMA AUS BDL BHM IAH JAX LAS RSW SAT All sceneries will get new night time ramp lighting and updated gate outline textures. Some will receive new roads and airport boundaries, meshes, land classes, and afcads. Houston will receive jetways (hooray, right?) and the Florida airports will get palm trees instead of the autogen trees that show snow in the winter time. BHM will get a small mesh update courtesy of William Morgan. Installation is very easy. Inside each folder will be two more folders, one containing scenery files and the other containing textures. Simply go to your addon scenery folder, open each M1DG airport that you wish to update and overwrite the old files with the ones in this update pack. If for whatever reason that you do not like the updates, just re-download the scenery in its original form from avsim and re-install. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6. I'm with you on that, and I've been a Blender user for years. I will gladly pay the pros to do it. It is a big task, but these guys turn out some beautiful stuff. On a side note, I always encourage people to dip their toes in the Blender waters. It can appear daunting to the beginner, but I can say from using it over the years, if you are doing the kind of modeling you would do for an airport, or architectural(what I mainly used it for), you will only use a fraction of the tools available. There are things in Blender I haven't even touched, and may never. But youtube tutorials are mostly how I learned. And JohnnyJohnJohn, have you started putting your items in MSFS yet or still learning Blender? I'm curious how easy(or not)it is to go from Blender to the sim. I would be interested in dressing up a few small fields I like to fly from.
  7. Do you have the updates that were released for them, this was the zip I have. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php?searchid=87061249 Might not be the issue, but ya never know.
  8. Which airport is in the screenshot? I know I should have all of them, I will do some digging and see.
  9. One of the reasons FS9 sits on the hard drive alongside MSFS and XP11, I like to tinker. And the massive selection of aircraft. Love the pics.
  10. Great pics, look like postcards you would buy at an airport gift shop. Looks like hell about to break loose at O'Hare! I have tinkered with my own retro packages before, but haven't done one for the 70s, surprisingly, since this was "MY" decade so to speak. I grew up then, my formative years. I'm not a stickler for accuracy, so I have been thinking about a package that would span say '68 to '83. A lot of my favorite planes, airlines, and liveries during that span. Thats a great time to fly a lot of the HJG planes also. Thanks for this post and bringing these planes from Christian Page to my attention. I think i'm about to fall down a rabbit hole.
  11. Not sure what you are looking for.....there are tons of planes for FSX. Obviously repaints are going to outnumber actual full aircraft, but there are a lot. But this is a MSFS2020 forum, so not sure what your getting at.
  12. Rocketing (not really) out of KPHL, evening flight to Louisville.
  13. Well, that looks fantastic! Love this sim.
  14. You seem to be very knowledgeable about what developers think and do, so I assume you are one, or are deeply involved in some way. Awesome. I have FS9, FSX, X-Plane and MSFS2020 installed. I spend time with all of them, and they all have something to offer. Not everyone plays flying games the same way or for the same reasons. Not everyone is focused on the visuals. Flying the CLS 742 between KJFK and EGLL in FS9 is a pretty good experience, didnt notice any wonky behavior from my autopilot either. Similar bug free experiences can be had in XP11, and FSX also. You can't seriously expect everyone to just drop what works and run off chasing the new shiny. I expect MSFS 2020 to eventually crush the competition, and sadly most developers will start developing for them exclusively, it is progress, like it or not. I value an enjoyable flying experience over everything else. Realism isn't only in the visuals. Systems and functionality immerse me more than buildings and trees. MSFS is fantastic for low and slow. When they iron out the issues with default aircraft, and we get more airliners in game, it will be great. I for one would like to thank all the people who have given their time and hard work in creating aircraft, scenery, and other things as freeware. I would never refer to it as crap. Not all of us can afford all the pricey perfect addons that the more discerning virtual pilots swear by. And I honestly have never felt like a badass for using old stuff. That doesn't even make sense. I use old stuff because i get entertainment value from it. Aside from those that are real world pilots, the rest of us are playing pretend. It's ok, it doesnt make you not a badass that you pretend. It's a hobby, enjoy. I drive a real truck, and the oldest truck simulator can be as realistic as the newest, it's all what you want from it. People still use FS2002, Viva 2K2!!
  15. I've always wanted the Phenom, used to fly the Camsim version in FS9 a lot. I don't buy many addons, but couldn't pass this one up for $18.
  16. Blender. You can load the sketch as a background and model from it as a reference. It works best if you have multiple views of the object you are modeling, but you can still do it from 1 view, just takes some guessing and assuming.
  17. https://web.archive.org/web/20200323050558/http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/ I downloaded a bunch of it in case the downloads vanish.

  19. Well, I guess that's your take on it. Not everyone runs around like their hair is on fire. I think a lot of people are actually flying, we have a lot of options now. I've never been a prolific poster. I scan the forums daily, here and other places. MSFS seems to get the lions share of posts, which makes sense as it's the new kid on the block.
  20. I've always installed it directly under C:, not any of the program files subfolders, and started as administrator. Havent had any issues on 64bit Win 7 or 10
  21. Patrick McGoohan said watch for the autonomous balloons on takeoff, usually near the beach.
