  1. I got one but I sent it back. The picture she included just didn't appeal to me.
  2. And if you ever have done a flight sim you'll find it very difficult to use.
  3. Welcome to the forum(s). I'm not sure that's the whole story. It's been well known for a long time now that with any sim there will be texture loading issues anytime a fast aircraft is flown at a low altitude over complex scenery. And absent that condition there is no noticeable difference with in-flight performance. And that texture loading "problem" is exactly what's happening over New York City. I'll bet if that same flight over New York was in a Cessna the results would be very different. I wouldn't draw any conclusions based on this video. More testing in more situations is needed before the HDD is abandoned in the pursuit of happiness and inner peace..
  4. I have it installed on an 860 EVO and my loading times are a bit long also. 1:15 to the welcome screen and another 1:22 to the flight - 2:37 total time (this is with the settings on Ultra).
  5. Yes, according the the MS specs it will work on either 2004 or 1909.
  6. So how about this.....I'm not buying any version!
  7. The old SSD with Windows 7 and the sims can stay as it is.When you install Windows 10 on the new drive the Windows 10 installer will automatically set up a process which will allow you to boot from either OS. You'll be asked which OS you want for the default and each time you boot the system you'll be given a chance to boot from the non-default OS if that's what you want to do .
  8. I've flown every version since FS1.0 (1984). But I'm through chasing rainbows. FSX is the end of the line for me..........Doug
  9. This is most sane post I've read in years. Like Rupert. I'm an old RW pilot that has been washed out on a medical. Flight SIMMING has always been about flight dynamics, navigation, and procedures. All this I-need-more-eye-candy-so-I-can-experience-true-immersion stuff has gotten out of hand...IMNSHO...Doug
  10. If you're looking specifically at MSFS I wouldn't recommend doing anything right now. There are still many open questions about the actual in-game hardware needs. It's going to be several months before the air is clear enough to talk about definitive hardware specifications.
  11. I don't remember Simon. But that doesn't change the fact that I've been simming since FS2 (1984). What does remembering somebody have to do with my credibility?....Doug
  12. Passmark is pretty much the standard: https://www.passmark.com/products/performancetest/
  13. B-17F or any B-29 if that's the best available. I've flown in both and I'd give almost anything to be sitting in the cockpit..........
  14. Good to see you. Things are really dead here (you probably already noticed that) but maybe you can liven things up a bit. See you back at the "other place".....Doug
  15. I don't work there either but I, too, have no idea what you're talking about or why you even bothered with such a post to begin with. Do you assume that somebody actually cares? Plonk.....
  16. I think some of you guys have been watching way too much FOX "news"..........
  17. Clean the disc. Put a little toothpaste on a rag and wipe across the disc and up and down. Never wipe in a circle. I've recovered many "bad" discs this this way. No guarantees but it's worth a try..........Doug
  18. I have them both and I agree. Go with P3D.............
  19. I think your suspicion is absolutely crazy. Well, you asked.
  20. With FSX it matters little what the video card capabilities are as FSX makes almost no use of the video card. I'd also guess it's a monitor difference.
