  1. I am liking the external view in MSFS where the POV moves the eyepoint around the aircraft, my TrackIR lets me look any direction from that point and zoom the view with my trackball.
  2. It used to be a problem for me with FSX until I disabled crash detection. In MSFS I also turned down airport traffic and ground crews to 25% but still have encounters with vans and busses but mostly ground crew walking through my aircraft. Ever since one of the updates, the pushback guys/girls don't look where they are going and miss my aircraft completely. As far as sharing parking spots, restarting a saved flight from a parking spot will as likely as not begin with your aircraft embedded in another sharing the same space. Everything can't be blamed on MSFS though. Yesterday I got lost and wandered on the runway, and was hit by an airbus. Expect to be cleared to fly again in a month.
  3. Do you have airline and GA traffic set to 100% in options? Earlier on I had a problem with using AI Traffic and no longer remember what it was. I used live traffic instead, which was good for in-air traffic with display of other aircraft on the VFR map, but there was no traffic on the ground. Something got fixed, and I now use the AI Traffic option, with no display on the map, but otherwise with good results. That is until today. While taxiing out to the runway at TBPB, I saw an Airbus ahead of me which stopped short of the runway. I stopped and waited for it to continue, but it had no communication with the tower and did nothing, I thought. Then I noticed that it was rotating ever so slowly on the taxiway which continued for some time until it almost faced me. Then it disappeared. I wonder when someone will provide decent AI traffic with real world models. I understand that the AI file structure is like FSX, but I totally don't understand the packaging system for the community folder.
  4. I've attached a screenshot of my settings. The "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" is unchecked only so I could get the screenshot with the selected drive lettering visible. Windows, misc. programs and data are on a 500 GB SSD M.2 C:, and MSFS is on is on another 500 GB SSD M.2 D:
  5. The MSFS support page FAQ has an article "How to Improve the Performance" which recommends increasing the virtual memory (Pagefile) on your system. It says under advanced system settings to uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives" and enter a custom size in the minimum and maximum fields for the drive containing MSFS according to the physical memory present. So, are you saying that would be 4 GB and 96 GB for 32 GB of RAM? But, it would be better to leave these advanced settings as system managed? My system lists virtual memory paging file size as 4978 MB for drive C and none for drive D. MSFS is contained on drive D.
  6. If you have 32 GB RAM, what should the page file min/max size be for the drive that contains MSFS?
  7. Yes, but some would like to pause and check out something on the current screen display rather than leave it entirely. That does not include me, and I am happy with the alternative as are you. What really bothers me is not being able to set up the start of flights with flight plans and save them for quick startups, which is what I did with FSX. There is no working option to do that currently, and I hoped you were going to tell me how I could save flights and have it work. Not only is there the AP problem with saved flights, but if you save when parked, the saved flight often starts with another aircraft parked on top of you. Therefore, I had to move outside a parking spot before saving as a "workaround". Anyway, thanks for posting the issue so that I had confirmation from someone else that the AP problem was associated with saving. I will submit my request to Zendesk.
  8. I have not had a CTD after loading a saved flight, but there are plenty of other problems when trying saved flights to make it not an option. I have had two CTDs since the latest update. One happened after continuing a completed flight while just sitting on the ground, and the other happened at the beginning of a flight when a ground handler was walking toward my spinning prop. I guess it was censored.
  9. I have experienced both 1 and 2 as described, but I'm not sure just avoiding either action is a "workaround". Basically, active pause and saved flights are not an option.
  10. I submitted a request to Zendesk early on about the lack of a sim rate display. I use the simratebandit displayed on a second monitor along with the map, checklist, etc., but I can see that it can be cumbersome with only one monitor.
  11. I haven't had any problem with Marketplace purchases, but found that those who downloaded independent developer's products outside the Marketplace get updates that the Marketplace has yet to issue.
  12. Looks to me like your computer is pretty well balanced now. No one item upgrade will make much difference. A faster multi-threaded CPU seems first on the list, which also requires a motherboard and operating system (bummer). Only then would the GPU matter, and upgrading the monitor will only make a GPU upgrade more necessary. One running of MSFS on my current computer resulted in CPU clocks at 5.089 GHz and 75.6% load, 94% GPU load, and 41.8% of 32 GB RAM utilized. Still trying to determine reasons for CTDs.
  13. After reading this, I checked the content manager and found two airport updates available. I selected them and clicked on the download button resulting in a 6.86 GB download. My MSFS version is currently 1.9.3.0. Rechecking the content manager, there are more items listed with update available. After checking and downloading the JFK update, it is still listed with an update available. I'm interested in this because FSDT indicated that they provided the marketplace with an update to their Key West scenery a week ago, but no update is yet available in the content manager.
  14. My sound settings are shown below. Voices are still the loudest of all the sounds.
  15. I thought I could just enjoy the tour by assigning AI to fly the plane, but instead ended up flying to North Korea. After getting out of the North Korean prison, I realized that I would have to engage the autopilot to follow the flight plan myself, so the next try I went to do so and found the autopilot was not functional. After a restart to get the autopilot to function, and while observing the scenery from outside the KingAir, the program crashed to desktop. Another try while just flying the damn plane myself with AP engaged I had to quit from boredom. Other than a few nice bridge models, everything looked fake, and I hope I never see another rice paddy. I also noticed that with all the water around (which also didn't look real), there were no ships. Then I realized that since I started using the sim, I haven't seen a ship or ferry even though I set that traffic to 100%. That's when I decided just to fly and not look at scenery, and every attempt ended with a CTD. Boy am I having a bad day.
  16. I have had a number of GPUs in the past that required two power leads, and was surprised recently when I got a RTX 2070 that only required one lead. I wonder if the super and Ti variants of the 2070 also require two.
  17. I would like someone to try AI traffic and see if they get the same result that I do. Or, is this a known issue?
  18. Is that a joke or a real thing? Funny if a joke. The problem is a real thing. Try flying a course to a destination on autopilot while using AI Traffic and let me know if the autopilot functions throughout the flight.
  19. FSX and MSFS never use the north-south runway at KDAB, instead using the main E-W runway and a shorter parallel runway. In MSFS using real traffic, ATC has you taking off and landing on the E-W runway while the real traffic is landing on the N-S runway. The main KDAB E-W runway is currently closed due to construction as it has been most of the time for what seems an eternity. Anyway, I am finding real traffic to be working pretty good, and I recommend it's use instead of AI traffic, which for me causes loss of autopilot functionality in whatever aircraft I am flying for some bizarre reason.
  20. The altimeter setting is still not matched to the real barometric pressure.
  21. The ICON A5 does not have an autopilot, therefore no heading bug.
  22. How do you get to that on the Microsoft Store? I can't find it and MSFS won't let me start without it.
  23. But there is no display indicating the current sim rate when using the in-app command. The SimRateBandit provides that.
