  1. You know in the old cartoons when someone would be on their tip-toes trying not to let anyone know they were around? That's the mental picture I got reading this line.
  2. Somehow, going out I set my IFR flight plan to an altitude of 999999 feet. Needless to say, I had to ask for some changes to be made!
  3. I know this is an old thread, but for the information of people, it was discussed recently on Mentour's YouTube channel. The yaw damper does indeed make it so the pilot of, for example, a 737 only normally works the yoke, while the computer will keep the flight co-ordinated.
  4. Three versions of Flightsim came out after 9/11, if it had been used as a tool that wouldn't have happened. Remember that it isn't so real that it could be used as a tool for that level of training.
  5. It's also 15 years out of date. Yes, you had historic aircraft, but they flew like cardboard boxes. The new one is about a lot more than pretty scenery, or at least such is the claim.
  6. I hope the full version is a lot better than the demo, because it does a poor job of representing anything. The biggest drawback is that it completely erases all scenery in Manhattan between mid-town and lowertown, leaving an empty wasteland the way it was back in FS98 and FS-2000.
  7. I've flown around the world more times than I can count.
  8. I usually either reload the aircraft or load a different one, so not an issue. Write down? What is this? Isn't that one of those antiquated terms from before the digital age? (In all honesty, I can scrounge for a pen and paper to scribble things down, or press ;. Obviously that is easier. And sometimes I'll be called away mid-flight, I can just save where I am, even if it isn't at an airfield.)
  9. I did this evening. Completed a ~2500 nm flight, meant to save my position (I always save so next time I fly, I pick up from where I last was.) Instead I hit exit. *sigh*
  10. Yes, FS-Pax was great for those things, I didn't know I was making hard landings either, too bad it doesn't look as though there will be any more versions of it for P3Dv4 and beyond. I don't think there are actual checklists to go along with that, unless you maybe try googling for real-world procedures. Can't say how relevant they will be to flying in the sim.
  11. A discussion over at the *other* site made me wonder how many downloads my stuff has had. Took me a while to total it up, but I've had 312,863 downloads from flightsim.com! In addition to what I used to get from my old, now closed site. Although the stuff I do now hardly gets any hits at all, 30000+ is still a good total. Thanks to everyone!
  12. This aircraft works fine in P3Dv3 using the 2D panel.
  13. I know I've said it many times, but... Does anyone know what the career expectancy of a fighter pilot is? This movie should be "Maverick double checks the numbers on an Excel spreadsheet"
  14. Using P3Dv4, it seems I have changed a setting somewhere, and now my aircraft take fuel from one tank entirely, rather than from all. Does that make sense? Like right now, in another window I'm making a flight in the default FSX 737. I set the fuel prior to takeoff, but tank one drained completely, and engine one shut down. Is there something I can do to get it back to drawing fuel from all tanks evenly?
  15. Ha ha, yes. Drastically overshot my planned destination of Hong Kong and landed in the ocean.
  16. Dozed off in front of the computer. Somehow the plane made it down without crashing! I guess hat's why there are two pilots.
  17. Redesigning one of my classics for use in P3Dv4
  18. Yes, of course they will. FSX native a/c are the same as P3Dv4 aircraft.
