  1. Free option if you have patience and a lot of time to download and install chosen liveries...

  2. No, I believe it's a band from the 80s.

Kidding, of course. I can only come up with one word to describe these shots... iconic! -- Bob

After I re-read my post, I knew SOMEBODY would reference the new wave band (I happen to have their debut album CD in my collection BTW) :)

I further investigated these guys make birds for MSFS (Also available in the Marketplace).

Only costs $50.00 for the entire USA

Adams posted screen shot is now my desktop wallpaper. Looks like a painting kudos to Asobos work.

  3. I had an issue with looping packages during downloading. I noticed it was getting stuck at the generic AI models. Then I remembered a mod Tim posted that I did renaming the "generic" in the aircraft.cfg's.

Solution: Pause Downloading and quit. Then went into the Official folder and simply deleted all 7 of the generic aircraft.

After restarting, updating continued normally refreshing the generic AI models.

Still going to do Tim's mod again since I don't like hearing "Generic" mentioned in ATC.

  4. You can check your input device amperage draw in their specification sheets. You will find them drawing minuscule amps in most cases unless they have force feedback motors. Most USB ports will supply at least one amp which is enough for all three.

Having said that, I use a ORICO A3H4-V1 4 port powered hub with a 2 amp power supply more for convenience of having the ports right up front and a power button.

  5. Perhaps the fastest might come by Carenado, as they have one from previous sims, and could simply update and port to MSFS ?

Edit: If I were you, I'd try to contact Carenado, or get in touch with them through their facebook page if they have one, maybe start a campaign to bring the F50 to MSFS !!!

I concur, Carenado is s-l-o-w-l-y porting their FSX/P3D models over. They have done 8, next up is the PC12. Perhaps you could persuade them to do the F50 next.

  6. You clearly have missed the whole concept underlying MSFS, which is streaming of satellite data for the area being flown over, which is the only way the earth can be depicted in this level of detail. No personal computer would ever be able to accommodate the vast data base required. So yes, of course, you must be connected to the internet -- this is the whole idea!.

You clearly have missed the whole concept of my post.

I'm well aware of the features and benefits of MSFS, I have both. My point is it is temporary. We all know how Microsoft operates...

"We no longer support MSFS. Welcome to MSFS version 2. You will need Windows 15 and all your Market Place purchases are tied to MSFS v1 and therefore not compatible to v2"

As for the future, MSFS is at least a 10-year project.

MSFS is all ready 2 years old and 8 years will pass very quickly. Long live FSX and P3D.

  7. I had bought hundreds of $$$ of ORBX scenery for FSX (including Australia v2 and several airports). Got P3D V5 due to 64bit and 99% scenery I got for FSX was a 100% FREE upgrade to P3D. All my FSX A2A/Carenado/RealAir aircraft work just fine also.

Has anyone compared the quality of the MSFS vs Orbx scenery?

No comparison to the realism of MSFS with its on-line "borrowed", temporary scenery. I thought it was going to be usable off-line as well. What the future holds for it, I don't know???

Will always be able to use P3D V5/ORBX scenery offline no matter what.

  9. If you don't want the setup hassle of AIG, Aerosoft Simple Traffic is about $15.00, real world airlines but uses MSFS default generic AI models that some don't care for.

JustFlight is going to release soon (Q1 2022 it's late!) FS Traffic which uses in house designed AI models.

  10. 1. You might have a incompatible add-on in the Community folder. Close MSFS and try renaming the folder (example "Community_DISABLE") to disable everything. Then restart MSFS to see if you can open the Content Manager.

MSFS will have regenerated a empty Community folder. Move your add-ons over one at a time. When the problem happens again, you will know which add-on is the culprit.

    2. I do this once in a while...

    https://forum.orbxdirect.com/topic/209377-useful-tips-if-msfs-stops-working/?do=findComment&comment=1774999

You can delete to the Recycle bin. Then restart MSFS and it will regenerate fresh .dat files. and a new Content.xml.

If MSFS starts OK, empty the Recycle bin.

Have you tried using just one monitor? And that artifacting in your image looks like failing graphics card memory.

  12. The Panama City Pack has 50 STATIC vessels as shown in my screen shots. I'll have to look into it more if the Seafront Simulations Vessels Global Shipping has routes through the Panama Canal. You would think so.

EDIT: Seafront is not showing a Panama route. Little hard for a AI ship to get through the locks with a static ship in the way :)

Check out some of these busy ship spotting locations...
