  1. Dogfish, On 11/04/20, in this thread, you gave me a link to DL LiveriesMegaPackVersion11.3. I did so. But NONE of the folders in your screen shot appears in my Downloads. What I downloaded with the link you provided was labeled "LiveriesMegaPackVersion XI" (yes, I can read Roman numerals), and it unzipped to something called "Liveries MegaPack Manager," an .exe file which contains no folders. It opens to an online list of liveries, which you can view, select, and install directly to your Community folder. That's what I did, and those liveries are in fact in my Community folder. I'm willing to try again. PLEASE tell me where I can get "LiveriesMegaPackVersion11.3" (which I thought would come through the link you provided, but which apparently did not). If the answer is Discord.com, I'm trying that, too, but it won't let me register, saying that my email is previously registered. I am certain it is not, at least not by me! Thanks, Mac6737
  2. OK, I did that. Installed 3 liveries. Not a one of them appears in the sim!
  3. OK, I just downloaded it. Question: Is there any way to preview the liveries and select the one(s) you want? It appears that the liveries for a given aircraft are an all-or-nothing proposition. I doubt that anyone would want all 10 or 12 liveries for any default plane. If you DL a set, can you view them and then delete the ones you don't want?
  4. Do you mean remove the folders and then put them back again? How could that make any difference? Or R U saying delete everything and then re-extract the downloads to the Community folder?
  5. I have recently downloaded some add-ons, like scenery and liveries. All the install instructions tell us to put the extracted files in the Community folder, as I have done. The scenery add-ons I have downloaded show up and function in the sim, but the 2 airplane liveries do not. Any ideas? Anybody have a better batting average with liveries? BTW, the liveries came from Flightsim.to. Mac6737
  6. Oh, bless you, Sir. May the camel of contumely urinate on the pallets of thy enemies! I swear I did not mess with those settings. Then there was a "mandatory update." Nuff said.
  7. The other day, I dared to take my first trip around Manhattan Island. To my surprise, all the buildings looked fine, including the new World Trade Center, which has facets. Today, however, i repeated the route, and discovered, among other inadequacies that the new FTC is now a dark monolith: Any ideas? Thanks all, Mac6737
  8. I swear I didn't mess with any settings that could conceivably affect these pop-ups. Then they started to pop up yesterday. Can't find anything in "Assistance" or elsewhere that reasonably describes these imbecilic "hints." Oh, the pain! Thanks all, Mac6737
  9. . . . in the Beechcraft KingAir, and similar planes? Lots of the FS2020 planes have Garmin panels where you can activate the cursor by spinning the outer knob with your mouse and then spinning the inner knob to get the letter you want. Then repeat. Repeat. Repeat. The KingAir and several other planes look completely different, and present a dazzling array of things to click on (many inoperable by design). I don't like to ask questions until I've tried to dope it out myself, but I give up on this one. BTW, another failing, IMO, is that you can't use the keyboard to enter airport codes in any of the FS2020 planes. Another thread I've seen here indicates that in a real aircraft you don't usually have a keypad, and must twirl those knobs to select an airport code. Maybe so, but in a real aircraft you have real knobs and real fingers, which is a lot different from manipulating a mouse as a proxy. Please, can't they bring back the keypad option? Mac6737
  10. I don't have this problem -- yet. So how on earth do you turn Bing on and off? Mac6737
  11. Oh yeah, that's right. As soon as I went to a brand new flight, the cloud icon reappeared, and I could change the time of day and the weather again. Oh, have I mentioned there's no manual!!! Mac6737 PS -- When this symptom appeared, it was the first time opening a saved flight had not caused a CTD!
  12. Until a few days ago, the pull-down menu had a cloud icon for Flight Conditions. So you could Active Pause, pull down the Flight Conditions menu, and change time of day, or even the weather. No more. Now the pull-down menu has a gear icon for Settings, but in the settings, "Weather" is grayed out. So I can't change the time or weather in flight anymore. I swear I didn't mess with it. How do I get the Flight Conditions tab back -- or, I guess, reactivate the weather tab in the Settings menu? Thanks all, Mac6737
  13. Thank you, Loki. Yesterday, I apparently clicked on apps that don't have "advanced options," as explained in the link you sent. FSX, for instance, does not. Go figure. Mac6737
  14. Not on my computer. There are no "Advanced Options" in Apps & Features. I take it you mean click on an app to select. After you click, there are only Then there are only 2 choices offered: "Modify" and "Uninstall." Mac6737
  15. Thanks. Right. How silly of me to not know that it wasn't a "program." BTW, I see that "FSX Acceleration" appears in both menus. And the Apps and Features menu does not include the repair function. Is there a way to "repair" FS2020? (Perish the thought.) Mac6737
  16. Not that I'm planning on uninstalling, but: Windows10 Control Panel has a feature for Uninstalling/Repairing a program. MSFS doesn't show up in the list. (I know where it is on my hard drive.) Not entirely sure what the "Repair" function does, but it once worked wonders for me in P3D when I couldn't load any airport between Las Vegas and Tokyo. Mac6737
  17. Steve, Good thought, but your inference is mistaken. AP is the first thing I checked, to make sure it was disengaged. And I am not "whinge." One purpose of this forum is to identify bugs. Nor do I maintain there is something wrong with this scenery. After rebooting the sim, I was able to take off from Hulett successfully. I accept your apology. Mac6737
  18. Downloaded freeware Devil's Tower. Opened FS2020, went to Hulett in Cessna. Released brake. Full power: airspeed indicator got up to 90 kts, but plane would not budge!!! Yet another waste of time. Maybe in a year or so . . . . Mac6737
  19. I don't happen to have this problem at the moment, but I clicked on the thread out of curiosity. It seems to me it is close to insanity to sell a program of this complexity with no manual. Here we have experienced simmers looking for Youtube videos on how to run the damn thing. Say what??!! I opened a plane the other day to discover there was no apparent way to open the GPS. It is said that if you placed an infinite number of chimpanzees before an infinite number of typewriters, they would eventually create the entire works of William Shakespeare. How's it goin' for ya, chimps? Mac6737
  20. Thanks for your efforts. I changed "TOGGLE ACTIVE PAUSE" to the Pause/Break key. It does nothing, so maybe that key really is defective on my keyboard. Then I did what you said under MISC, and SET PAUSE ON = p, PAUSE OFF = CTRL + p. I don't believe I saw any difference between that "Pause" and "Active Pause." Motor keeps going. Mac6737
  21. EVERY TIME I try to load a saved flight, the sim crashes to desk! Any ideas out there? (Other than "Don't do that any more.") Mac6737
  22. Vern and Amberdog, Well, I've been using Active Pause with no apparent problems until this week. Using the ESC key would be nice, except you forget that when you ESC to pause, you're looking at the Home Page, and cannot manipulate your controls, or pull down the in-flight menu. Finally, I noticed early on that the old P key did not work; took me a while to realize that Active Pause is different from Pause in FSX, where it freezes the screen and turns off the sound. So I thought my Pause/Break key was defective, and I assigned Active Pause to the P key. Are you telling me there's a "conventional pause" like the old one in FSX? I don't think so. Mac6737
  23. I'm coming up on 2 months now. I have had ONE normal flight -- that is, with no bugs, errors, anomalies, etc. Tonight, I left Exeter (EGTE) in the Baron. Sudden loss of control. Paused a few minutes, and was able to resume. Successfully engaged AP on NAV and ALT. Lookin' good. Then I paused and went into the drop-down menu to alter the clouds. On return, TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL! Plane headed straight up for the moon. It did respond to extreme pressure on joystick and, oddly, steady nose-down pressure on tab trim. Eventually regained control, but could never again engage AP successfully. Back to P3D, until they get this thing flying right and publish a real manual. (Maybe I'll cool off by morning.) Mac6737
