  1. It feels like this in the beginning when you try a new software. Felt the same way when I tried Xplane 11... It took a long time to get used to it.
  2. I use the left mouse key. This is just retarded when programmers add these things. Why have this press any key to continue. I clicked on the FS Icon to play, I sometimes use to walk away from the desk as the load time was long to get to the menu. And after coming back to the desk hoping to be at the menu, I am still at "press any key" It makes sense to have a check If you want to exit a program. Are you sure you want to exit. But they need to get rid of this press any key to continue from the program. It is a annoying.
  3. Yes, because the weather engine is equally impressive as the scenery. Because when you fly, you need to understand and deal with the weather, this huge leap forward is enough reason to pick MSFS other than the scenery. Also the Cessna 152 is the only best awesome default aircraft I love and fly.
  4. I have used all of the sims mentioned above, including Prepar3d. If you were unhappy with FSX you will be unhappy with MSFS2020 at the moment. Realize that it is a brand new sim. The user interface is different and all the default keys and views you were used to since all the FS1 to FSX including PD3 have been changed or not working or have to be manually assigned by you. There is a learning curve. My recommendation is to wait for now, let most of the bugs be fixed, wait until there is some addon planes both freeware and payware out in the market. As the default aircraft all suck. The only default I truly enjoy flying is the Cessna 152. Also make sure your PC is up-to-date too, if you want the graphics you see in the trailer and youtube videos, your machine better be topnotch. With my Alienware laptap at JFK I get 1 frame per 2 seconds because its a high detailed airport. Just going to KISP to the east I truly enjoy flying at about 28 fps with a few pauses here and there. So wait, for now, give FS2020 some time to mature and then buy it, you will truly love it.
  5. The sim hasn't even been out for a month. I am running FS2020 on a laptop bought in 2016 and it runs just fine. The graphics are way better than what I got in Prepar3d. True, I get bad frame rates at high quality airports like JFK but just go East to ISP on long island and it is beautiful and flyable. With the right tweak, it looks very realistic. Don't throw in the towel yet. A year or two from now it will improve dramatically with many addons. Still, if you don't like it, go back to the sim you used before.
  6. I use this airport to test any new plane I fly. I tried to load the airport and the sim always crashed.
  7. I had similar issues, because I was logged out of the "Microsoft Store". Once I clicked on windows and icon on bottom left, typed in store and logged back in. It stopped asking me for the game disc. See if that works for you.

  9. No, I did a complete reinstall of OS before purchasing MS2020 and PREPAR3D and X-PLANE are no longer installed along with PMDG. Once PMDG comes in FS2020 it will be golden.
  10. I am running FS2020 on an Alienware Laptop purchased in mid 2016 no SSD. From pressing the On Button to Windows screen less than 15 seconds. Click the FS2020 icon - Sitting in Cockpit read to fly. 12 - 14 minutes.
  11. Did you guys type in the ICAO airport code or the name in the box. I did and it doesn't pop up
  12. Is it just me or they excluded BGBW Narsarsuaq Airport Greenland. This airport is used to ferry planes across the North Atlantic and of course used by airliners if you want to get to Greenland. It has a 6000 ft x 150 ft Runway.
  13. Hmm... Is this about hot planes and beautiful airport scenery that they must have? LOL
  14. Spent the whole day downloading FS2020 and just after midnight loaded my home airport KFRG. Without getting into details I have an Alienware Gaming Laptop bought in 2016. From the time you click on the FS2020 link to the time you are in an aircraft ready to fly. Average loading time 12 - 14 minutes (tried 4 times). That is crazy! BUT, once KFRG loaded, OMG wow. It looks awesome even at medium setting. Amazing. Flew to JFK just east and the frame rate started to drop 1 frame every 2 seconds a slide show. It has to do with my hardware of course. Sometime this Christmas will get a current rig with the right hardware to make the best of it.
  15. A landing at Boston 22R that shows clearly the end of runway 4L, awesome.
  16. Welcome back! I too have been on and off here but with MSFS revival, I am in.
  17. OMG, that looks just like a giraffe. Poping out of the cloud with some haze and seeing that during dusk or dawn!
  18. I started with FS98 while in High School, and look where we have evolved into. What you say may not be too far away, MS2032, Microsoft FS 40th Anniversary. HahaHaha
  19. We already have this now. Its call "online shopping". If you got the cash you can buy most anything (assuming its legal items) from any country and have it shipped to your home. And you don't need a passport.
  20. AFD (Airport Facility Directroy) doesn't say anything specific about RWY 4L but it does mention "Numerous cranes on and invof arpt". In the simulator, I would come in straight if VFR or fly a standard traffic pattern depending on the arrival direction. Also if you are VFR in a small GA plane, you can power idle abeam the numbers 4L and slip it in for a landing, that is fun. If IFR, I could not find any IAP plates for Runway 4L. Unfortunately, I don't have a sim installed on my PC at the moment. So can't see what scary beast lurks there!!
  21. MSFS is still a week away. Imagine what all the talented developers will do with it in the years to come. Its a good dream.
  22. OMG, noticed your 17,818 posts... That's not "Top Gun" That is "Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile" Rank.
  23. I am just curious as to how this works: Member, Senior Member, Top Gun etc.... Is it based on number of posts? How is it calculated
