  1. Thanks guys, I always liked the P-39 & P-63. I hope someone someday reproduces the P-63E model, the last production version with slightly better performance and a different tail assembly. I did an FSX .air file for that version back about 9 years ago. The flight dynamics only file for that is p63e-1.zip, but that is not a visual model, and no one has subsequently made a model to fit. This version by A. F. Scrub is the P-63A variant. He did a really nice job on the aircraft. I don't have P3D yet, but he also made it for V4&5 of P3D.
  2. Hi Jan, Actually this is a new release by A.F. Scrub for P3D V4&5 and FSX. The file is bell_p63_kingcobra.zip, here in the library. There is also a companion "fix" file. Bob
  3. The Bell P-63 out over the Great Plains.
  4. As long as your nephew stays at 1440p or less, he should have plenty of performance. At 1920x1200, and a mix of ultra and high settings, I am seeing
  5. The only thing that seems to be slightly downgraded is depth of field. Even on depth of field ultra, it doesn't seem as sharp in the long distance. The performance increase is marked. I am now seeing CPU at 24%, GPU at 50%, VRAM at 46%, and RAM at
  6. The reason you don't have any response, is that the system specs you posted really won't run any modern software well. You could probably run an old software like FS2002 on a GT1030. That videocard is really a business software product, it will work fine on spreadsheets and word processing. In particular, the system is hampered by the lack of a Cd drive, which really eliminates FS2002.
  7. Try using the High Altitude Airways plan generation for the A320.
  8. Also, could your flight plan need more waypoints so that the tracking is more constrained?
  9. Across southern Oregon A cirque in the Cascades and an airport in the High Desert.
  10. I have been running the initial install since the release, without any problems.
  11. Did you check to make sure the flight model did not get switched from Modern to Legacy? It should be Modern.
  12. Did you check your options settings? After the SU7 update everything got changed and it might be one of the flight assist options??
  13. Like Jim says, you must run on the internet some of the time. The copy protection is really tied to the net. The upside to that, is you can load it on multiple machines, but only 1 can be active at a time. You need a >30 mbyte/sec internet speed, but it has not been a problem at all for me. The scenery would take something like 400 four GB SSDs to contain the detail that is provided (in other words, impossible to load on your media).;
  14. The heat issue with a laptop may be a problem but otherwise I think you are OK.. The 10 GB of VRAM would only really apply if you were running 4K. At 1080p you will be fine with 6GB. I run 1920X1200 with 8GB which is plenty for that resolution. You should also be fine with 16GB of ram at 1080p. The processor in a laptop is a bit slow, but the GPU will be more intense than the CPU. 30 fps is plenty to run the sim smoothly. I have my fps limited to 30 fps and maintain that easily. The sim does create a LOT of heat. If the laptop isn't a necessity, you may be happier with a tower with great ventilation?
  15. Have you updated the MS gaming services? Is there a data throttle anywhere, like a poor internet connection or network lag? I have made numerous flights since the SU7 update and not had any of this so far? It makes me think you might have some local internet issue. You may be on different servers which might make a difference?
  16. I am not experiencing this problem either. I suspect you have a controller issue with a conflict between your keyboard or joystick or yoke? I second Steve's suggestion.
  17. Thanks guys! The little Pitts is one of several new aircraft included in the latest update.
  18. Northern Michigan. Vanderbilt, Michigan is best known for the record low temperature of 51 degrees below zero, set back in 1934.
  19. The cautionary import of this thread, should be the need to keep everything in your system updated BEFORE you update MSFS. There was a thread on this forum warning of just this specific issue, and the need to update the Store and Gaming Services before the MSFS update. Before you rush to update MSFS, take the time to look through the forum threads and see if anyone has information that may save a lot of grief.
  20. The latest update to MSFS out in Kansas.
  21. First, we need a lot more information! Use the link to download the FREE version of Speccy. https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download Run the app and make a screenshot of the first screen report. Beyond that, we have no idea what resolution you have set in FS9, what 55" TV you are using, and what monitor you would want to run. This is a difficult question as posted, as we have no idea what your budget is for a new machine. I know your old machine won't run it, Windows 10 updated is required. A new system to run MSFS at 1440p will be a lot less than a machine which can run at 4K.
