  1. You don't need to "move" it. MSFS can be installed on multiple computers. I don't know how Steam works, but the key element with MSFS is you can have it installed on multiple computers but only one (1) can fly at a time. You just install on the new computer as if it was your initial installation.
  2. ESSL to ESGJ Linkoping to Jonkoping in Sweden. Then ESSP to EFTP Norrkoping Sweden to Tampere Finland.
  3. First you must update the XBox Ap. Then when you search for updates, you should get an update path. There are several threads here with more specific instructions if you need those.
  4. Did you install the Xbox app update? Once that is installed you will be able to update the simulator.
  5. My load times seem to have markedly increased and my flights don't seem as smooth after the latest update? Anyone else experience this?
  6. Klagenfurt LOWK Austria to Stuttgart EDDS Germany. We fly over the Alps and descend over Reutlingen, Germany., home to the once popular Dacora-Kamerawerk. My first camera purchase was a Dacora.
  7. Because of it's high elevation, Santa Fe is also a cool respite in August. When it is 110 in Wichita Falls and Western Oklahoma, Santa Fe would typically be 80. You would be amazed how refreshing that 30 degree difference makes after sweltering for months! If you go the other direction, you will get up into the Los Alamos Complex, a high tech nuclear research community in the mountains northwest of Santa Fe.
  8. I have had the sim for over a year now, and I have yet to need to uninstall or repair the product. I have stayed completely stock, I don't use developer mode, I only have one 1920x1200 (that is correct) monitor, a pretty standard joystick with no complicated control devices, and I regularly clean out my system cache. I did prefer the way things were before SU5, I did not want more fps. It still looks better than any other simulator by a huge margin, even with SU5. Most of the issues reported, are actually user created problems. I understand the desire to add all sorts of addons and to have a complex yoke and pedals and multiple screens, but that just makes the likelihood of update woes much greater.
  9. Take off from South LaFourche (Galliano) and fly south toward Golden Meadow. From there we go to Port LaFourche. This is a staging base for most of the oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. The eye of Hurricane Ida came right over this port at landfall. We then head east to Cheniere Caminada. This is the site destroyed in 1893 by a hurricane with winds about 25 mph less than Ida (Top winds with that storm were estimated at 130mph, they measured 148 in Grand isle, east of the eye wall, before the anemometer broke in Ida.). Then back to South LaFourche airport. The 1893 storm had a 16 ft. storm surge, this storm had over 18 ft. The land at Cheniere Caminada is only a few feet above sea level, so the storm surge inundated all of this community. The 1893 storm killed more than 600 people here, and over 2,000 people in total. Fortunately this was largely evacuated by the time Ida hit. Close to 75% of the imported oil for North America comes through an offshore anchorage 18 miles south of Port LaFourche, known as the LOOP facility. It took a direct hit from the storm.
  10. The difference from a practical perspective, as it applies to MSFS, is the level of detail out of the box (actually out of the Cloud) , far exceeds the detail of a stock FSX installation, and may be better than most FSX addon scenery, I don't have FSX addon scenery to compare?? It is far better than X-Plane 11.5 scenery in stock install.
  11. Just out of curiosity, what was your weather state for the CTDs. The reason I ask, I have only had 2 CTDs in almost 12 months. My first was by way of the map, which was a documented bug that was fixed last Fall. After the first CTD, I just did not open the map until it was fixed. About 4-5 days ago I had a second CTD. I normally fly with clear skies, because there is so much scenery to explore, and this is the first product that really feels like the actual topography. The flight a few days ago, I had selected the Longitude for a flight from Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Fargo, North Dakota. I decided to use a broken cloud cover at 66% coverage. I had just begun descent from a cruise altitude of 29,000 feet, I was down to about 27,500' when the CTD occurred. I don't know if the cloud cover created extra demand that raised the heat in my machine, or if there might be a bug in the cloud draw emulation? I had flown a King Air for a longer flight the day before without issue, but in clear skies. I subsequently flew three more flights in clear skies, without any issues.
  12. Three flights this weekend. I did encounter my second CTD, the first since the map issue was fixed last fall. I set up a flight from Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Fargo, North Dakota in the Longitude. I did have the clouds set to broken 66%. I was cruising at 29,000 feet about 2/3 to the destination and a CTD?? I made two other flights without incident later. The first was a short flight from Minnesota into Fargo in the DI40NG. The second was a flight from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to west of Grand Forks, North Dakota in the Baron. I am still completely stock, never any addons at all.
  13. It may contain a scenery element not recognized by the update rewrite?
  14. I flew the old Milwaukee Road Line from Spencer, Iowa to Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin.
  15. I have been running this program for 11 months without issue. Try removing your joystick and pedals during installation.
  16. Flew the Robin from Charles City, Iowa to Mason City, Iowa.
  17. In addition to the Zendesk recommendations, you might try with the CPU not overclocked.
  18. You can also plan your flight in a program like Sky Vector. That will allow you to make note of not only airport codes, but to customize your flight path with waypoints you select. You then input the arrival and departure codes and input the waypoints and hit add. You can also enter your airport departure and arrival codes and select a GPS location on the World Map. For example, select KICR for departure from Winner, South Dakota. Then KRBE for arrival at Bassett, Nebraska. Then find the tiny burg of Burton, Nebraska on the map (the population of Burton is about 10 people on a good day). Zoom in and click on the center of the town. That will; add a custom waypoint option. You then click add. Now if you want to add a waypoint to line up with the runway, you can type in BETME in the World Map search and click add ( I got the waypoint code from Sky Vector).
  19. I don't think anyone was misled as to modularity. It has been known from the beginning that the program would evolve, and this is confirmed by the SDK still not released, which other programs published just to promote modularity. My speculation is that a functional SDK can't be published until the program migrates to DirectX 12. At some point when a SDK exists, then modularity will soar. You contend that addon creators never had to modify products before, but this isn't true, look at products for P3D V3 vs P3D V5. The same with various versions of X-Plane. Most revolutionary change involves some performance limitations initially. I bought the first Sony CD player back in the 1980s. Only a handful of CDs existed. The sound quality in many ways was inferior at that point to record albums available, but they did get rid of warps, scratches, and degradation from stylus damage. 6 years later, CDs and players were much better. Now most of my music is streamed. The quality may not be quite as good as the best CDs, But I now have access to 1000s of artists! I wager that in another 6 years, streaming audio will be much higher quality than current CDs. As to stability, I have not had a problem yet. It is better than the migration of SuperCalc from V4 to V5 back in the 1980s, which was critical mission software, not amusement. Again, same with a whole herd of Database programs.
  20. I totally disagree here! I am very happy the product was released last August. I have had very very little to complain about. I have had 1 CTD from the map back early on, a few missing airports that I wanted to use, and a few elevation errors, all of these more annoyances more than real problems. I have immensely enjoyed the use of the product now for 11 months. The vast majority of issues folks complain about are created by their own choices, not intrinsic to the program itself. People try to use complicated setups with multiple screens and a myriad of control devices. They install addons from unknown and untested sources, and even the better ones don't really know how the program is evolving. They try to run the program on an old laptop or using a CPU from 2008. I am not faulting folks for trying these things, but don't blame the program when your effort fails! Even if release had postponed 6 months, the issues folks have with unusual or outdated systems would still show up no matter how long you wait to release! I have had months of extra enjoyment!!
