  1. You can look at, resize, and convert textures with the texture converter tool in Model Converter X also. Easy and fast and free. Dan
  2. Some aircraft are NOT coded correctly for exits and jetways. First, at your terminal of interest, use the default 737 or A321 at a gate, then try CTRL+J which should activate the jetway. You MUST be parked exactly in the parking spot. If it works, the problem is your aircraft. What aircraft are you using? Most 3rd party airliners are built with workable doors and such. Pick a default aircraft close to what you are using. For example, if you are using a 3rd party 737, use the default 737. If an airbus, use the default A321. A380 or 747? Use the default 747. Open the default aircraft.cfg and scroll down to the entry starting with [exits]. Copy/paste the default entry into your aircraft.cfg. (ALWAYS MAKE A COPY BEFORE DOING ANYTHING TO THE .CFG!!!). Remove any previous exits entry or just put a // in front of the [exits] entry. The default 737 entry looks like this: [exits] number_of_exits = 2 exit.0 = 0.4, 36.6, -5.0, 3.0, 0 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency) exit.1 = 0.4, -38.5, 4.5, -3.0, 1 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency) exit.2 = 0.4, 33.5, 3.5, -4.0, 2 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency) Save. You should now have a working jetway and exits. If not, the model may not have been built with a working door. Let me know if further help needed. SPECIFY what exact aircraft you are concerned about. Sometimes the problem is the RATE of door opening is too slow. There are door codes in forums for POSKY, HJG, and others that can be helpful. Dan
  3. Trying to update my modern AI traffic with Breeze Airways. Have conflicting info on callsign and atc_parking_code= info. Is there a convention for the code? Is the callsign MOXY as listed in Wikipedia? Thanks Dan

Robby Huffman asked me for the terminal at Durango, so I decided to flesh it out into a reasonable full airport. Durango is one of my favorite places to vacation- Durango and Silverton Railroad, great restaurants, Animas Canyon. Here is a great place to fly in on FSX-commercial or GA- and spend a little "me" time! High altitude adds a little challenge. This scenery features custom made terminal, hangars, buildings with interiors and night lighting. A Traffic file is provided for GA traffic and United Express and American Eagle flights. by Dan French
  5. Thanks!! Glad you like it. It is a lot of fun.

This is a revision and update of one of my first sceneries, KMAF 1962 for FS2004, this done for FSX. All original components are updated to FSX, while many models are redone completely for better textures and improved frame rates. Features interiors with night lighting, restaurant, ticket area. Parking coded for CalClassic AI Traffic for 1962. by Dan French
  8. Don't forget if adding FS9 traffic files with the aircraft themselves, convert the traffic files to FSX with AI Flight Planner 3 or similar, or your fsx traffic disappears! Poof! Dan
  9. I'd just like to say as a scenery designer, the new upload system is terrific. Simple, quick, and efficient. I really like the progress bar since my uploads tend to take a while and with the old system, you didn't know if it was still working or not. I have not had major problems with downloading or finding stuff. My impression is it is improving by leaps and bounds every day, so I believe the feedback is working. Constructive feedback is ALWAYS the best. I really value the time and effort you guys put in.

  13. Is there a way to easily get to a list of recently added FSX files in all FSX categories? Or any of the sims, for that natter? Sorry. I'm getting old!

  15. First, I lean a little to the left in my old age, but I'm sticking with McCarren, too. Second, is this all default MSFS scenery, or are you using any 3rd party add-ons. These shots are gorgeous! Dan
  16. In your scenery, with Rwy 7L/ 25R missing, is the new Rwy 7C/25C labelled as such, or is it 7L/ 25R? Dan

  18. Agree with Inuss. The aircraft will load with the passenger/ cargo configuration in the aircraft.cfg. In FSX, (sorry. I dont have MSFS), go to the SimObjects/Airplanes/C208B file (the default Grand Caravan, or go to whatever aircraft you are using)/aircraft.cfg file and open it. (ALWAYS make a backup in case we screw up!). Scroll about half way down the page to the section [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]. The first line is the maximum weight your aircraft can be. The second line is the empty weight of the aircraft. The difference is how much you can add to the empty aircraft in passengers and cargo. The lines labelled station_load.0,1,2 etc are the places loads can be added in the places named in the next section. The number in the station_load.x section is what shows up on your aircraft payload page when you open it in FSX. The " words" under the station_name. x section is the name of each section as it appears on the payload page when you load the aircraft. You can change these! So, if you want a passenger in station_load.2 or .3, put in their weights instead of the zero. (The last 3 numbers in each line is their location in the model. Cargo weight you add in pods 1, 2, 3, 4 (station_load.10, 11, 12, 13). Distribute it evenly, just like the pilot would do in a real plane. Saving this .cfg will have that come up every time. Personally, I like them all at zero, so I can decide each time who gets on, how much they weigh, where they sit, and how to distribute cargo. But, some aircraft I like preloaded. Hope this helps.
  19. The short answer is "YES". The long answer involves: 1. Backup EVERYTHING in your FSX installation to another hard drive or disc(s). 2. Follow the directions in the sticky in the FSX forum "Installing/reinstalling FSX (Gold)" by dlfrenchmd 3. After complete reinstall and FSX is working well, you can add your sceneries and sim objects back in. You will have to reactivate all your sceneries again. If payware project (like Instant Scenery), I had to go thru the license transfer process. Prepare and do this ahead of time or some of these folks will tell you that and take a while to get back to you. It is a bear, no doubt! Dan
  20. I spent a LOT of time and struggle reinstalling FSX Gold. Wrote a sticky now in the "sticky" section of this FSX forum. For future reference. Dan
  21. Happens to me still occasionally. Turning off Flight Sim and rebooting computer always helps. If it doesn't, texture issue?
  22. Make sure in the "Select Aircraft" window, the box "Show all variations" at the bottom is checked. Dan
