  1. Great pics and it's nice to see one of my creations in this forum, the Piper Meridian PA-46-500TP (pc_pa-46-500tp.zip) featured is available in the library.
  2. Your'e right, they are amazing! could be mistaken for real photo's.
  3. Grounded airliners could be used to treat covid-19 patients, they would be used as hyperbaric chambers to treat the most serious patients who would normally be put on ventilators which in most cases does not give good results, this is an idea from Cambridge life-support system specialist Lungfish Dive Systems based in the UK, at the present time there is no shortage of suitable aircraft that could be used for this.
  4. I actually fixed the default textures by removing the mips and uploaded them to the library here, just search for "paul craig texture fix" you will need to scroll down to find the FSX textures. PS: Sorry didn't see last post.
  5. I hope everybody is OK and keeping safe, I would just like to take this opportunity to have a rant! I don't know if you people outside of the UK realise that the UK has a huge shortage of PPE, so desperate that last week British Airways completed a 22Hr round trip to China to collect vital PPE and the RAF are waiting to collect 84 tonnes of PPE from Turkey only to hear on the news that pharmaceutical suppliers in the UK are shipping millions of pieces of vital ppe to Germany, Italy and Spain! Whats going ON! the saying "couldn't organise a p*$$ up in brewery" comes to mind.
  6. Regarding the deletion of saved flights, it's probably better to delete the actual FS saved flight files from the "Flight Simulator X Files" folder which should be located in your "Documents library".
  7. From wikipedia: "Munson had been flying for over a year and purchased a Cessna Citation I/SP jet so he could fly home to his family in Canton on off-days.[26] On the afternoon of Thursday, August 2, 1979, he was practicing takeoffs and landings at the Akron-Canton Regional Airport with friend Jerry Anderson and flight instructor Dave Hall.[1][2][27] Shortly after 3:40 pm EDT, Munson had received clearance for takeoff and three touch-and-go landings on Runway 23, which were completed.[28] While on approach for the fourth and final landing on a different runway (19), Munson did not extend the flaps and allowed the aircraft to sink too low before increasing engine power, causing the jet to clip a tree and fall short of the runway. The plane then hit a tree stump and burst into flames,[29] on Greensburg Road, 870 feet (265 m) short of runway 19"
  8. We don't get FOX news here in the UK!
  9. A good freeware A380 is the Project Airbus A380-800, search the library for "Project Airbus A380-800" in the "FSX: FSX Jetliners" section, this will have complete aircraft packages with FSX models, I think that is was is in the image posted. Or you could visit the Project Airbus website here.
  10. Why are you bothering with the FS9 model when you could have an FSX native model KLM Boeing 747-406M Combi painted by me, the complete aircraft is available in the library, search for klm_nc_posky_b747-400m.zip, it also includes the default 747-400 VC.
  11. They are FSX native models but there is no VC, however Thomas Ruth has done a DC10 with a VC so you could use the DC10 interior model along with the Tristar exterior model, search the library for tomdc10.zip.
  12. British Prime minister Boris Johnson who has contracted Covid-19 is now in an intensive care unit in a London hospital, he has been suffering from this for 11 days and was admitted to hospital yesterday because of a persistant high temperature.
  13. Here in the UK, PPE (Personal protective equipment) is in short supply in all NHS (National Health Service) hospitals and care homes, the government say's that there is plenty in stock, in warehouses (unless they are lying!), but the problem is getting it to the hospitals etc, when there are thousands of trucks and drivers around the country lying idle which would normally being delivering non essential goods, these could be used to deliver essential goods to where they are needed!
  14. What you need is DXTbmp by Martin Wright, download from here use this to convert the textures from .dds to .bmp and all you need to resize the textures is Microsoft Paint, after downloading and installing DXTbmp do the following: 1>Start DXTbmp load the texture you want to resize. 2>If the texture has an alpha channel then, Select "Export Alpha Channel as BMP", the alpha channel is shown in a preview screen top right corner with the "Export Alpha Channel as BMP" selector below, save it to a place where you will remember. 3>Then click, Save as>Extended Bitmap>Extended 32bit 888-8 4>Open the bitmap in Microsoft Paint>resize and save as "BMP Picture". 5>Open resized bitmap in DXTbmp>select "Import Alpha Channel", (selector again below the alpha channel preview screen) navigate to where you saved the exported alpha channel and add to the bitmap. 6>Finally click, Save as>DDS Texture>DDS DXT5 I hope this helps. Final note, dds textures are upside down compared to bmp bitmaps, so make sure you don't flip them.
  15. Soap and water are enough to kill coronavirus, as lomg as you wash your hands thouroughly for at least 20 seconds, it ruptures the outer membranes of the coronavirus cells KILLING them.
  16. I'm really sorry to hear about your sister Carie having this dreadful virus, my thoughts are with you at this stressful and upsetting time, I hope she beats it and let's hope this nightmare we are all in is over soon.
  17. If all she got was a £30 fine then she got off pretty lightly, in the UK the punishment for leaving the scene of an accident is 5 to 10 penalty points on driving license (get 12 & you are banned from driving for 6 months) & a fine of up £5000 or imprisoned for up to 6 months!!
  18. I also prefer 2D panels, with some effort a 2D panel can look quite realistic, here is the 2D panel I have made for my FSX Learjet 35A which I hope to release soon, I used an actual cockpit photo for the background and created all the gauges with exception of the GPS myself.
  19. Here's a couple of links that may help, 1722 error & 1603 error.
  20. What error message are you getting? if it's "1628 failed to complete installation" then have a look at this at answers.microsoft.com.
  21. As Microsoft Flight Simulator will be able to make use of multi-core CPU's, I think most quad core CPU's will run it OK, but I think GPU's will be more important which could cause a bottleneck especially when you have a 4 Ghz quad core using all it's cores then you will need a GPU to keep up.
  22. You could try using msvcr70.dll, install it in your FSX root folder, I found that this got the Boeing777-300.gau from FS9 working in FSX, if you have trouble finding the .dll file I have uploaded a few complete Posky 777's to the library with this file included, search for Paul Craig 777, hope this helps.
  23. I have found that with payware AV that they have to find things to justify the payment, the last couple of PC's I have bought have come with pre-installed payware AV which is free for a year & they seem to find all sorts of malware, yet when I have unstalled them & installed a free AV such as MSE I get none of these so called malware infections even though I visit all of the same websites etc.
