  1. Sorry to hear of your problem. I've uploaded another 'calshotspit.zip' file just in case your system is infected and can not unzip files correctly. Please remember this zip file is a scenery zip file not an airport one. I don't know which OS you are using or how you are trying to unzip a zip file? IF YOU ARE USING A COMMERCIAL ZIP PROGRAM I WOULD TEST IT TO SEE IF IT WILL ZIP A SIMPLE FILE & THEN UNZIP IT SUCCESSFULLY.

Glad you were able to access this scenery now. Regards B.Semmens (FlightSem Software)

  2. Sorry to hear your problem! 'Calshotspit.zip' is a scenery compressed zip file and not an airport; Nearest airport is EGHI (Southampton) in the UK. I do not know what system you are using or how you are trying to 'unzip' the compressed file. There are no virus or malware in the uploaded file (I've checked the uploaded file). If you are using Windows 10 then with the file 'calshotspit.zip' highlighted > click on Extract tab at very top of your > left mouse click on ''Extract'' all tab (yellow zip file icon) that appears > on the new page select the 'Extract tab at the bottom of the page - this will open a new page showing 'Calshot Spit (UK)' & have all of the decompressed file [7]. Follow the installation instruction inside the documentation folder. If you are using a commercial 'ZIP' program then confirm that it is working correctly - try zipping a small file & then unzipping the generated zip file! Regards, BS calshotspit_uk.zip

Weston Shore (UK) Weston Shore, situated on the east side of Southampton, runs alongside the So lent from the city boundary at Abbey Hill towards the mouth of the River Itchen at Woolston. The shore is a popular location for people across the city as it has direct access to the waterfront and provides views over the Solent. It's a great place to watch the ever changing activities on the water, including the comings and goings of large cruise liners. Weston Shore, with its highrise, tower-block, buildings is adjacent to Hythe Town and the Americanbase Hythe on the entrance to the River Itchen. The highrise buildings, with their pale blue cladding, are a prominent feature when approaching the Eastern Docks of Southampton from the East along Southampton Waterway. Various fuel oil storage and sewage tanks, as well as Woolston Sailing Club, are visible along the banks of the River Itchen.

Addon Scenery for FSX/FSX-SE - Module 6: Americanbase_Hythe By Barrie Semmens : FlightSem Software (c) 2013-2024 RAF Hythe was originally a Royal Air Force base situated in Hythe, Hampshire, 10 miles South of Southampton on the Southern side of Southampton Water and some 500 yards East of Hythe Pier. The site was acquired by the South East England Development Agency in October, 2007. It has since been developed into ‘Hythe Marine Park’, home to a number of maritime and marine production facilities. From 1967 the facilities were used mainly for small boat repairs by the US Field Army Support Brigade/Combat Equipment Battalion-Hythe. At this time, the base became known as RAF (Hythe) American Base as it had been operated by the American Army since 1960; its function was to service and maintain watercraft. The base, the last U.S. Army installation in the United Kingdom, closed on the 30th September, 2006 after the American Army left following a cost-cutting exercise.

Module 5: Fawley (Exxon) Oil Refinery – Missed Textures Fix by Barrie Semmens: FlightSem Software (c) 2013-2024 This is a texture fix for 'Module 5: Fawley (Exxon) Oil Refinery', FSX/FSX-SE scenery. Fawley (Exxon) Oil Refinery Scenery for FSX/FSX-SE. Fawley (Exxon) Oil Refinery site covers some 13 square kilometers (3,250 acre complex) and is situated on Southampton Water, some 5 miles by road from Hythe village in Hampshire (UK). On the seaward side of the complex lie the salt marshes, whilst on the landward side an extensive tree screen surrounds one of the biggest and most complex oil refining and petrochemical manufacturing sites in Europe, namely, 'Esso Petroleum Company & Exxon Mobile Chemical Limited’. The refinery imports crude oil from around the world, including the Middle East and Russia, although the majority of the crude oil comes from the North Sea. The oil is off-loaded at the Refinery's Marine Terminal (Module 2) the largest in Europe. Its mile long jetty handles some 2,500 ships movements a year. The refinery stacks can be seen for miles around. Thirty years ago there was a permanent flame over Fawley – the 'Fawley Flame' – but is now a comparatively rare event. The refinery's flares are a normal and vital part of keeping the refinery running safely and works in the same way as a home gas heater – a pilot light burns constantly igniting any gas that is sent to a flare.

FlightSem Software (FSS) Addon Scenery for FSX - Module 4: Netley Chapel, Castle & Abbey Scenery Module 4: After the Crimean war, Queen Victoria ordered a Military Hospital to be built in the UK. Its purpose was to train army nurses and doctors and to treat military patients to ensure their swift return to duty. Netley was chosen as the site because it was near to Southampton so that hospital ships from around the British Empire could safely dock and disembark patients. For over 100 years the site was a great military hospital, housing wounded troops of many nationalities from the 1914-1918 Great War. Close by is Netley Castle, one of King Henry VIII’s Southern Coastal artillery forts built to defend Southampton Water from a French attack and possible invasion. Between 1939 and 1998 the property was converted into private housing and used as a nursing home. The castle, surrounded by approximately 3.8 acres of woodland, is once again a private residential home, but sadly is closed to the public, despite being visible from Southampton Water and accessible by land and sea. Within walking distance is Netley Abbey, from which the village got its name, and is the most complete Cistercian monastery in southern England. It originated when a colony of monks of the Cistercian Order crossed Southampton Water from Beaulieu to establish a new religious house at Netley in 1239. Set along the wild, wooded slopes above Southampton Water, the Abbey appears to be the perfect medieval ruin. Almost all of the walls of the 13th century church still stands today. Located on the northerly shores of Southampton Water in Hampshire, close to the Hamble Fuel Oil Farm (Module 2) is Hamble River. Situated at the rivers entrance is ‘Hamble River Sailing Club (HRSC)’, founded in 1919 by nine local men. The club is a members club that has a RYA recognized training centre. The position of the club allows yachtsmen quick and easy access to Southampton Water and is a yachting Mecca for yacht racing types. Close by is the interesting little village of ‘Hamble Le Rice’, commonly known as Hamble with its various public houses and mooring options as far as the eye can see; a big attraction to visiting yachtsman. The 1980’s TV series ‘Howard's Way’ was based around here and made the local ‘Jolly Sailor’ pub famous. There is plenty of deep water for average size boats with over 3,000 berths, five marinas, a couple of boatyards with moorings, including the harbour authority moorings; just about every Marine requirement can be met here. In spite of the number of berths available it still can be difficult to secure somewhere in the height of yachting season as resident boats fill up the vast majority of the 3,000 plus berths. This is not really a cruising area as the river consists of a narrow navigable channel leading through the numerous moorings and marinas as far as ‘Bursledon Bridge’. Anchoring is not allowed anywhere on the river, up to the bridges, and neither is the flying of spinnakers. Its attraction mainly lies in its central location and proximity to the cruising and racing grounds of the Solent and beyond.

FlightSem Software (FSS) Addon Scenery for FSX - Module 1: Calshot Spit. Scenery Module 1: Calshot Spit enhances the default scenery of the area situated at the mouth of Southampton Water in the United Kingdom which marks the entrance to the Solent. Calshot Spit, with its Coastguard radar tower and mote Tutor Castle, was the original home to the famous Sunderland flying boat and one of the chosen sites for 'The Jacques Schneider Maritime Trophy' Air Races held in the 1920's. Its unique position provides spectacular views across the shores of the Solent and supports one of the country's most popular watersport locations. Further along from the Activities Centre are Houston, Keymer and Lawrence houses, while wooden beach huts can be seen strung along the shingle-beach - Luttrell’s Tower is visible in the distance.
