igami
Also at my case , Installed other then system drive But also don't start from the FS9.exe Copy the fs9.exe and run from that. May feel strange but seems Windows are checking what they installed and blocked at my case. The copied fs9.exe worked.

Windows is not checking anything, the exe just doesn't work and the reasons for it are more than one. Mark Daniels
Richiemon
Hi all - just an update. I received my new MSFS 2004 disks. And everything loaded perfectly. So it appears that something corrupted the original disk 2. But I am all set now. Thx for all the feedback. I learned a lot here.
lnuss
Glad you go it working -- and thanks for the feedback. That always helps with future problems. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science!
ViperPilot2
Make sure you also install the 9.1 Patch and the No CD Patch, and Archive those fresh CD's! JSkorna
Wonder why he doesn't need the No CD patch? So many people think he needs it. http://www.air-source.us/images/sigs/000219_195_jimskorna.png
Richiemon
By the way, can someone tell me what the 9.1 patch actually does?

The 9.1 patch is like a service pack for FS2004, & corrects a couple of things. (hence it's called 9.1) The 9.1 crack lets you use Fs2004 without the 4th CD in the drive. wobbie
Have a look here for the 9.1 update: Flight Simulator 2004 Update v9.1 (flyawaysimulation.com) The 9.1 NO-CD Patch: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 v9.1 No-CD Patch for FS2004 (flyawaysimulation.com) Note that if you do not use the 9.1 UPDATE, there is also a No-CD patch for an non updated FS2004. It's pretty much essential to have these for the sim.
ViperPilot2
wobbie do you run Nine and GW in Fullscreen or Windowed Mode? wobbie
I run them both in Windowed Mode. Just a habit of mine. No issues or problems at all. My FS9 is about 140GB & I run 9 & GW (also P3Dv4.5) off a portable 2TB drive. No lagging at all. I'm using an Asus laptop, Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 7, 16GB ram, 500GB SSD & that 2TB portable drive.

Many thanks! I've always run Nine in Fullscreen mode but with this recent HP laptop things like the GPS flicker occasionally 1.9 gig AMD processor with 1 gig GPU. So I've been using Windowed mode lately and things have been much better. 20 fps in Fullscreen but 30 in Windowed. wobbie
Dont worry too much about the number of frames. I've locked mine at about 30fps, and all my settings are on hi/full. As long as things run smoothly.

In windowed mode they run perfectly. At least it does so in my current laptop (Ryzen 7 5800H and integrated graphics) and the one I had back in 2012-2017 (i5-2435M with Intel HD3000 graphics). But, since I paid for the whole screen, I want to use the whole screen! For that, I use Borderless Gaming. Best regards, Luis Hernández
