Skywatcher12
People are jumping with joy. You need to look at the modern gaming market, not the name. It'll be a modern flight sim, not to be confused with an old flight sim. Very different things. lol FS9 forever for me! Mark Daniels
pugilist2
It looks amazing! There is really not enough information yet to tell what type of sim it will be. Skywatcher12
There is really not enough information yet to tell what type of sim it will be. I think 10 years of history from thousands of games, no mention anywhere in the short write up of any advanced features, user content capabilities or reference to bettering previous versions, it'll be a plane game. It will have a flight planner and they made mention of this. I think that's because a flight planner inclusion is as sim as it gets. mallcott
Well, FSX is dead, at long last... A sim for the gamer community should also mean that P3D can be left to professionals and real pilots: No fudge of the EULA required...
CRJ_simpilot
I hope it's like a real Sim and not just some game. If it is a real Sim then, OOM errors? Read this. What the squawk? vomacka
Perhaps, we should merge the "New FS" topics into one topic? Having two is confusing.... Scott Windows 10 Home 64bit. ftldave
No fudge of the EULA required... The new Flight Simulator isn't released yet, so FSX is far from dead. My bill for FSX payware add-ons during Memorial Day sales proves that. And good that "no fudge" will be required for the new sim. All the winking-and-nudging over the past 10 years, and the divisions it caused in the flightsim community, wasn't healthy or admirable at all. tiger1962
At this stage it DOES look like a plane game to me. It's MS Flight with whole-world satellite scenery (from Bing Maps?) and 3D autogen generated by Azure AI, in a similar way to FSEarthTiles, which certainly does look amazing. It'll be available on PC through the XBox Live network for a monthly subscription fee, so it's unlikely that an SDK will be released, although it's very early days yet and anything could happen... Skywatcher12
At this stage it DOES look like a plane game to me. I'm quite confident it IS a plane game! It's MS Flight No! It appears it's FSW but close! lol Two sources I have now. I'm betting they are correct. The other FS site has over 30 pages of Christmas wish lists. They are going to be really angry with Santa! haha Mark Daniels
pugilist2
I think Microsoft knows what kept their Flight Simulator series viable for so long was the "Add on market". It will be interesting to see about the SDK. tiger1962
No! It appears it's FSW but close! lol I thought of Flight because the second screenshot here: https://fsi.microsoftstudios.com/media/ is taken from the cockpit of the Icon A5, which was one of the default Flight planes. andyjohnston
Possibly because you've been nothing but negative. lesh
Came across this. Worth a watch particularly from the 6 minute mark. There's so much rubbish in that video that it's not even worth starting to list the faults. It's all just pure speculation (and not even good speculation at that). He says he's on the "Insider group and beta team" but then so can anyone who wants to be - there's a link to it on the official site. He has no more inside knowledge than anyone else outside of MS. Typical YouTube clickbait.
