mrzippy
i am the OP for this. lol. but I have a downloaded fsuipc.dll that came from here. but no it is not registered. and I don't use panels and switches. I have switches on my yoke. and like I say I use REX for weather as the fs weather lite did not work for me. and will calling MS work? because they stopped supporting fsx cause of it's age. I think Paul was referring to the non-human toll-free phone numbers listed in your Main FSX folder to call and do an activation. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! CessnaFlyer
something is not right here. I have had a simulator called space shuttle mission simulator long then I have had fsx. and I never had any issues with registration with it. but it seems about every other month I have issues with fsx. if that's the case I will stop using it and go back to fs9. giving up on flight simulation for good:D
il88pp
Sorry about that cessna :). But my head is spinning, is the error fixed now after removing fsuipc? Or are you stuck in demo mode? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CessnaFlyer
Nope still have the same problem. being out of phone time I will have to see if I can send an email to MS. I have had to register other games and never had this problem. giving up on flight simulation for good:D

Of all the posts in this thread, Gerry's was by far the most relevant to your activation issue, and should have been the first solution to look into. Messing with FSUIPC shouldn't have any effect on the activation status of FSX, and really just diverted the thread off course. This is what he is getting at. il88pp
Just found this somewhere. Don't know if it works. Maybe worth a try before reinstalling. To make the activation prompt appear: Make sure that you do not have FSX loaded. If it is, EXIT the program. GO TO: START\CONTROL PANEL\ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS CLICK on ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS and wait for it to load LOCATE Microsoft Flight Simulator X Acceleration in the list of files and click on it. YOU should have 2 icons "CHANGE" & "REMOVE" CLICK ON "CHANGE" and wait for the program to complete (It takes a while) ONCE the program completes you should be back to the program listings EXIT back to your desktop. Start FLIGHT SIMULATOR X as you would normally. THE ACCELERATION ACTIVATION PAGE SHOULD POP UP. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
loki
i will just do a fresh install and go about my way. sorry I wasted your time If you follow the link, you will quite likely not need to reinstall at all. No need to apologize, just slow down a bit and read the responses carefully is all.
pvarn
Just to be clear, I suspect the "still have the same problem." is FSX is still in demo mode, NOT that FSUIPC caused it (unless my understanding is wrong.) On October 8 of this year, cessnaflyer posted this message indicating he had to solve an error message during *installation* of FSX. It is unknown if this is the FIRST install or one of many of which there are additional posts on this site referencing install or re-install of FSX. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?283428-if-you-see-this-error&p=1883013#post1883013 Here is the OLDER forum thread on the same topic as this one (error code 8-...) a few days later (Oct 15.) https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?283610-Error-Code-8-c0000006&p=1884070#post1884070 Note: The preferred method of keeping a topic alive is to post a new message in it rather than creating a new thread. This way, we who are trying to help and not just reading for fun have a more complete picture of the history behind a problem. What has, and hasn't been tried and not have to go through the same tired Q and A over and over again: In the end of the above thread, mrzippy thoughtfully and with insight provided a link to the OP which suggested the code should be addressed by getting the FSX license fixed by calling MS. SO, in the intervening three+ months, the problem which did not go away in October is still waiting for a call to MS to resolve. A little more history... It looks to me as if cessnaflyer investigated using FSX in demo mode starting in 2010 but could not get it to run properly. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?216805-fsx-demo&p=1484964#post1484964 In July of 2012 cessnaflyer bought a new computer and at the end of the thread was running FS9 on it. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?251424-say-hello-to-my-new-puter&p=1694952#post1694952 Note: in the forum history I see six variations on the handle cessnaflyer... In May 2014 cessnaflyer asked if FS9 and FSX can be run on the same computer: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?278607-fsx-and-fs9&p=1853682#post1853682 At the end of May this year cessnaflyer was having trouble *reinstalling* FSX: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?278824-fsx-install-issue&p=1855096#post1855096 Problems with A2A product: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?277505-problem-saving-a-flight-with-a2a-cessna172&p=1846057#post1846057 In September of this year cessnaflyer was having crashes and did not report if they were fixed: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?282993-fsx-crashes-to-desk-top-with-black-screen-sound&p=1880570#post1880570 Now we are at at the Oct time frame linked above with the error code. -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm

mav316
I just started having this same problem with FLightbeam Studio KIAD Washington Dulles Intl! says my activation key is invalid when I know it is! all of my other Flightbeam and FSDREAMTEAM sceneries that use the same activation methods work just fine! So I guess I have to uninstall KIAD and do without it until I get a new key from eSellerate. pvarn
"I just started having this same problem with FLightbeam" Not exactly the same problem since your FSX is still licensed. Many companies have licensing problems which is 96.5% of what the tech support departments do. CessnaFlyer
well I did a fresh install of fsx and the acceleration pack. and when I finished the install of fsx the pop up came up asking if I want to activate now or later. so I activated it and it said I successfully activated fsx. so I still have no idea what cause the problem I had and if it's going to do it again when I start putting my stuff in. I have 3 files ruled out as not needed now so I will see what happens? giving up on flight simulation for good:D
pvarn
Good News. I do not know of any add-ons which attack your license. The most common licensing problems on valid installation disks are changing hard drives, re-installting too many times and re-installing FSX. Avoid those things are you should be fine. 99.9% of all FSX problems can be solved without re-installing FSX. If you are using add-ons other people are also using and their FSX is OK, then those are not the problem. All you have to do is ask, not guess. Simply ask on the forum if such and so is being used by anyone without FSX becoming unlicensed or crashing. In your case, the attempt to install an outdated FSUIPC probably caused problems but the breaking of your license probably occurred prior to that and you finally ran up against the brick wall with FSUIPC. The only reliable source of the current FSUIPC is always: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html ... AND, it's up to each of us to update it when it changes. You will not be notified automatically. Right now it's probably a good idea as you said to not install it until you REALLY need it for something only FSUIPC can do like make FSrealWX work without simconnect. -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm
