Potez 56

This reminds me of a Dragon Rapide, who else thinks so?

Unbelievable, I installed this bird 3 days ago and tried it out yesterday.....I'll post some pics in this post after I cropped them.. Great pics, I also didn't know anything about this plane.:eek:

I have a couple more Potez aircraft in my hangar.

Yes! That plane also reminds me a De Havilland, those planes which transfered Spanish General Franco from Morocco into Spain, or de Gaulle from Bordeaux to London.

A great French name of before 1940 anyway!

I really wish people would supply links to where they get various files because it ain't here nor any of the major fs sites. It is here along with many other superb examples of French freeware

Just thinking ahead for perhaps newbies who have not an extensive knowledge of the more obscure sites.

It looks close to a Dragon Rapide Colin, but it's not a Bi-Wing. :cool: :)

Hi Larry, yes you are right of course it just has a similar look.

I tweaked my model to use as an ai plus I gave it a bit more boost too, not much but it now flies that bit faster.

I can see where you are coming from, the cockpit glazing does have a flavour of a Rapide.

 

I love finding threads like this. It has lead me to learn more about French aviation, I concentrated on Potez and its history but I came across this picture of a Farman 430, this also has a hint of Rapide about it plus it had De Havilland engines on some variants.

I did a quick search but could only fine 3 Farman aircraft for FS9, but not the the 430 above.

Thanks for the link Jan, I was looking back at some of your older posts, you inspired me to download a lot of these old birds, I did have some on my old hard drive but lost them all when it crashed.

 

You may remember I did a retro version of FS and had mostly the old aircraft, very few jets, that was where I needed the older props lol.
