Contact points for belly landings on the default 737

I am far from the contact point xpert that Napamule is, but looking at all those "scrape point" entries, all the type 2 ones, I think (very seldom), that they are what you need.

But I could well be wrong. It may need some more, more specialize ones.

Good luck!

Pat☺

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Pat - I believe it will be point.0=1, point.1=1 and point.2=1 lines. The -10.20, -10.80 and -10.80's are the gear points themselves. I'd sure love to know why he wants to land a 737 without a gear! Why doesn't he just want to land the plane without dropping the gear, wouldn't that work?

Rick

Landing with the gear up is an immediate "crash" which stops the Sim. Apparently, he wants to slide down the runway? Turn off crash detection in your settings!

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

you can land with gear up in some planes in the 737 you sink into the ground and disabling crash detection does your plane keep jumping

There is tons of proof that you can land retractable gear planes with the gear up. This is especially true in General Aviation.

My only question is why would you want to?

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

Michael - I basically asked the same question! Why? When we were young, we used to get our kicks by illegally splitting a "Six Pack!" Oh well.............................

Turn crash detection OFF (dah). Then make 'Float' contact points (type 4). The floats will allow you to not sink into the ground, the ac bouncing up in the air, or flipping over (ruining your 'crash' landing). The 'Float' points will be placed in CLOSE proximity of the body (1 each under engines and 1 under nose). Try as below. Adjust the '-8.00' (vertical) as needed. Maybe to '-6.00' , or even '-4.000' (closer to body). This is quick guess. I had the 737 belly landing cnt pts but can't find it.

point.8= 4, 40.00, 0.00, -8.00, 2600, 0, 0.000, 0.00, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 4, 0.0, 0.0

point.9= 4, -11.00, -8.38, -8.00, 2600, 0, 0.000, 0.00, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 4, 0.0, 0.0

point.10=4, -11.00, 8.38, -8.00, 2600, 0, 0.000, 0.00, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 4, 0.0, 0.0

point.11=4, -25.00, 0.00, -8.00, 2600, 0, 0.000, 0.00, 0.1, 4.5, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 4, 0.0, 0.0

Also turn off effects by placing '.boo' after each FX line (disables effect) unless you WANT 'sparks', 'dust', or 'smoke'. When recording video the smoke will effect the frame rate (30 to 10 fps) which will ruin your video. And this 'mod' will also allow you to 'crash land' on water. Have fun.

I found the 'floats' mod for belly landing the 737. I just tried them and they worked good. Disregard the cnt pts in previous post. Have a ball (belly?).

Edit: You need to be full flaps and input all of up pitch trim and deploy spoiler just before touchdown. But, Butt, Cigerette Butt - DON'T STALL IT !!! - it ruins it! Piece of cake!

Yeah...I just waited until you begged for them (hehe). I thought that me showing the 737 and the 747 that somebody, someday, might want the 747 cnt pts. I said 'I'll put them right here...'. Guess what? I couldn't find them! I PUT THEM RIGHT THERE! (what an idiot). Took me 30 minutes going thru all my files to find them. Cheesh. THIS time I will put them right THERE! (ha). I got Gigs of stuff and 40-11 folders so it wasn't easy to find them. I already have 80 items saved on my desktop (makes it handy to find) one more won't matter. Have a ball. Maybe make a video of that 'smooth' landing with crash detection on? (Be sure to save a copy of the origina cfg just in case).

  • 5 weeks later...

It TRIES to show how you can land the tube with the gear up and not crash & burn. That's all. Nothing to get excited about. Nothing to see here folks...so move on down the road... (hehe). I say 'tries' because the view was obstructed by the scenery. To get tower vew use 'Shift+S' to cycle to it as FSRecorder will not allow using 'S' key to cycle views. Try again? The landing was good so congrats on that. Too much fun already.
