I don't know, my observation was that the file didn't play nice in AFX or ADE let alone load. How much editing did you do to the file? I created approaches and the whole nine yards1 (8.2 meters). 1I'm an idiom.

I started my Windows 10 adventure in VMware testing things out and monitoring the network. It's Windows 10 LTSC (an OS used by your doctor or dentist) I saw more telemetry going through the network then you can shake a stick at. Then I found something called Windows 10 AME which is a project of someone's or some peoples. AME strips damn near everything out even the update mechanism. It worked and everything, but I thought it to be waaay too minimized and the fact they used the hosts file to block IPs lead me to believe they don't know what they are doing. The hosts file is only to block domain to IP resolution. It does not block IPs directly. pfSense, OPNsense or third-party router firmware will do that. Even the old program Peerblock will do that on a layer 7 (application) level. But! Windows 10 comes with even more shenanigans. A guy on Twitter striped the crap out of it but still requires a product key so it's legit. Well, not really, but at least it needs the product key... So far I'm happy with it. There's no Facebook, Dropbox or other crap added to it. Not even Internet Explorer or Edge. This is Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC. There is a handful of IPs that still try to make contact to the outside world but I solved that crap at the router level for now. I have a mini PC I'm testing OPNsense on and I'll deploy that soon. I find it nuts that every time I go to Personalize or the Control Panel for example a slew of IPs have to hit the Internet. I never saw that in Windows 7 or even XP. They both had some minor telemetry sans your installed programs, but nothing near the torrent of IP traffic I saw in Windows 10. I watched a few Windows 11 videos on YouStupid and just shook my head at the thought some low IQ chimp/s thought that crap up. Some carbon based human/s thought that crap up. This is true for the modern day mainstream browser and code for a lot of things in this day and age. It's completely backwards or I'm getting to be older, cranky old man. Well, I am. I still have wonderful memories of Windows 95 and Windows 98se with my space screen saver and its space sound effects... It seems to me Microsoft is trying hard to make the computer OS a smart device OS. It's practically a mirror image of that platform and to me this is wrong. If they want to do that then at least make an OS for PCs (Personal Computer?) and smart devices. Don't take the lazy approach and lump all of the code into one platform. But I can quickly see the capital spent and whatnot for two versions. Especially support and QC. On the other hand, the demographic might be in their favor for PCs and smart devices because one of the biggest search engine hits I get at my website is: "why is Windows 10 a piece of s&*t?" I kid you not. I have a topic named that and I see a ton of Google hits from people looking for answers. I have some interesting information in that topic, too. Information that really underscores how Microsoft doesn't really care about customers it seems. I personally believe these asinine OSs and their boat ton of crap and IP telemetry makes YOU the cash cow - the product. That's why it was free. And nothing in life is free. Nothing. Was the warning something about the connection not being secure? If so, that's only because the web Dev of that website has not installed a TLS certificate in the website server so you see that nice little feel good padlock in your address bar. It's over bloated and analogous to a barf bag. It also intercepts your TLS connections to a website because it has to in order to "protect" you. Then it more than likely feeds your telemetry to anti-virus headquarters. It's so bad that one anti-virus product packed its very own crypto miner so they were making money at your CPU's expensive. I stopped using an anti-virus some 8 years ago. I'm very computer smart, never got magically infected, no PUPS or encountered some Guy Fawkes mask wearing hacker invading my computer with a RAT (Remote Access Trojan) or otherwise. I do three chief things: 1) Scan ALL downloads (actually check their SHA256 hash) at Virus Total. The general consensus is four hits and you toss, but it depends on what you got. A game hack for example will ring more bells than Anita Ward could ever dream of. I also look at the Behaviors and YARA results of the scan. I have edited the Wikipedia page on VirusTotal to include the part about the U.S. Cyber Command giving VirusTotal unclassified malware samples... 2) I run the now FOSS (Free Open Source Software) Sandboxie classic for my browsers. So should malicious JavaScript et al get rendered in the browser, it will hopefully stay in the sandboxed environment and not jump to the OS for execution. Sandboxie can and will protect you from a lot of zero days and ransomware. 3) Make periodic full 1:1 hard drive clones and data backups on many forms of media that are kept external to the computer in $35 fireproof safes and manually encrypted and sent to the "cloud". So I used a file laced with what is called a canary token that is harmless and uploaded that to VirusTotal and waited. The old paid-for AFX is another FS2004 program for airport design. While rich in some features, it's no where close to ADE's wealth of capabilities. Due note however that AFX and ADE compiled files are not compatible with one another. I don't know why that is other than perhaps how the XML was created. Take it for me as I have run both programs...

I was kinda joking. But if taken seriously, of course lots of testing would have to be done and appropriate pilot training in the Sim to handle such an abrupt but persistent stall out correction in flight. So I think it would need to be a gradual, but fairly fast correction. Something perhaps a De Havilland Dash or other regional could perhaps benefit from due to icing.

If memory serves, a kernelbase.dll error is indicative of a problematic DLL. Yes, it could be due to the absence of the UIAutomationCore.dll. Could be other DLLs loaded in Explorer at the time. One way to check is a programs called Process Hacker. You can monitor threads in Explorer.exe or the Sim process in real time on a second screen...

Note: ADE takes some learning and you might want to read the manual and visit their help forum, but once you learn it it's really a great program that can do damn near everything you need for airport design. Even GPS approaches.

Unless you have only 4GB or less of RAM, it's snake oil. Sorry. I do realize people swear by those programs, but the truth of the matter is they are in large part not needed. Especially since you can do what that program does manually or with a simple batch file. Also, I bet if you monitored the network that program sends loads of telemetry behind your back. Use Wireshark or Nirsoft's SmartSniff. Temp block it all with Peerblock.

I'm not aware of any figures like that in any .cfg file. I'm thinking most if not all runways in the Sim are a standard issue 3 degrees or something like that. And there is no coincidence with the PAPI either in a lot of cases. Saw that many times. Your issue however mirrors my past experience though rare. So because I know it can happen I'm prepared for it just in case. Since I mostly fly the F-22 and have retrofitted an imaginary WAAS gauge in my cockpit, it has a synthesized GS/LOC so lone as you zero in on the real mag heading of the runway. I do this as part of my approach procedures by grabbing the actual runway mag from the GPS 500. So now if the AP messes up I can go by the synthesized GS/LOC produced by the WAAS gauge. For the life of me I can't find the same exact gauge I have. I'm pretty sure I ripped it out of an F-111 and it's called a WASS_GPS vidmap.cab file, but the one's I see are green and my bezel is a metal gray and looks different. This sorta happened to me at Holloman with no F-1117A's showing up. I discovered it was due to a mix of FS2004 and FSX AI flight plans. FSX will only use one, not both. So I make sure all of my AI flight plans are FSX formatted. I use AIFP to accomplish that if need be.

Running a 27" Samsung right now myself and it's fine. I don't think it's as curved as some are though. I've read a curved monitor can be an issue with CAD programs and stuff like that.

Well what the heck, looks like I never patched from the get go. Also, my FS9.exe is a different version than yours. So my hash value certainly won't match yours or anyone else's. Even after I patched. My version is just different. Could have sworn I updated FS2004 as well. I need to check that sometime. I haven't flown in FS2004 in quite some time so that's why I must have thought it was already patched. BTW - I believe that patcher will work with other executables that don't utilize 4 GB of RAM. A year or two ago I read all about this and it has something to do with just setting "the flag", but I don't remember all the fine grain details of the patch.
