  1. OK, thanks man! I’ll be checking it out. Turns out I have a licensed copy in my FS9. Yes, FSUIPC, not what ever I typed earlier ROFL. Honestly I really used it years ago, and like many here, MSFS has brought me back to simming. So I am playing around with FS9, FSX, and MSFS as well. Mike
  2. Hi dogdish - (sorry, not real familiar with FPUIC) - do you happen to know if you could save and load different calibrations & sensitivities per aircraft also? Thanks, Mike
  3. Drives me nuts too, especially trying to get the feel of the bigger birds with doing go arounds. I shut off all AP, flight director, auto throttle, everything I could find and and it seems to have worked. Also, turn up the "speed selector" of the aircraft in the cockpit, IE if it is set to, say, 220, then everything over that will trigger that overspeed warning. I just turned it way up even though I am not using it anyway (auto-throttle). Realistic? Not even in the ball park. But again, for go arounds and stick practice on a sim... Mike
  4. Hi all, according to the MS Camera Basic concepts page (as of August 18) you can't save custom external camera views, only cockpit views if I understand this correctly - - and understanding all of the capabilities of the sim is a ways off for me LOL. I like a specific view to go out of the cockpit to while on approach, for now I just simply toggle the smart cam and adjust zoom and height to what I want, but a preset would be sweet! Does anyone know if there is a way to pull it off anyway? Here is a link to the article I refer to - https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016003159-Camera-Overview The last line under "External view" = "At the moment, you cannot save custom views in External view" Thanks, Mike
  5. Hi chicagorandy, like tiger1962 said, a sim “depends” (relies) on these files to run. An example is a Train sim that I have. When installing a particular train route, or “layout” if you will, there might be a certain file, say a boxcar or caboose file, that the sim needs for that to be properly represented. So, the file is called a dependency. Just guessing, but in the case of MSFS a “dependency” could be a certain engine cowling, prop blade, tree, water texture, anything really... Mike
  6. Hi, FWIW I am using two monitors, windowed mode. At times the VFR map is coming up minimized, so it “seems” like it is gone. I just go to see if it is there and click it back open. Possibly check your taskbar to see if this is happening to you? Mike
  7. Well just reporting in, since the latest update and then subsequent mandatory update my VFR map is still working, but my aircraft is now a black outline instead of solid and there is a white "shadow plane" on the "ground" ...I guess. Same deal sitting on the runway with other planes at KYNG, and when flying. I will test around other airports and find the solution. Weeee!!! We will get this thing working folks!!! (says the optimist in me...LOL) Mike
  8. Got that, thanks tiger1962! I am looking into if the mouse is on that second monitor... does that also take out my numbers 1-9. Mainly, because it works “sometimes” as I stated. Weird, will post results if I figure it out.
  9. Hi all, I think my biggest headache on the OP list is that darn two monitor control loss issue. Drives me crazy!!! (I use a HOTAS) Also, I have the same problem with the ATC numeric keypad, though mine works maybe 50% of the time but mostly when it feels like it. Hence, I mouse over to the second monitor to use ATC, then forget to put the cursor back on monitor one, and, well, see above... Mike
  10. I feel for the OP. I got so fed up trying to release the parking brake and looking for “numdel” that it was faster to reassign the darn thing to another key LOL Mike
  11. Hi, no CTD on my end yet. I noticed better handling it seems, joystick less touchy. I left the “Neutral” settings as they were and actually lessened the sensitivities across the board (generally from -60 or so to about -40 ish on everything). Will report back if I get CTD’s. Thank, Mike
  12. I have currently installed FS9, FSX, and now MSFS. I use FS9 hands down over everything else. Just my .02, thanks everyone for good and interesting forums. Mike
