  1. The same reason, say, a whole bunch of people still prefer talking on land lines.

I for one have not used FS9 since the end of 2015 when bought a gaming rig and switched to FSX.

But FS9 was about the best sim out there at the time, but then something cooler came along...

  2. Two things that guy had going for him to land that aircraft with no damage to either him or the plane: A qualified and experienced flight instructor, and good weather. Plus. a major airport with a long runway. I think perhaps ten other random people may not have been able to do it as well in similar circumstances...

Landing a real plane, even for a long-time flight simmer would probably prove to be the challenge of a lifetime (if you survive). The motion and flight dynamics of a plane is very different than sitting in your den landing a heavy. There is also the vertigo factor that many novice pilots suffer as the plane begins to descend.

  3. Sir: Don't know why you are done with flight simming? I would certainly not blame you if you bought MSFS2020 and are frustrated with the endless wonky updates:)

As we bid you farewell, thought you might be interested in this little tidbit - Back in June, 1983 I lived in NYC. Happened to take a day off from work, and was in a small park in downtown Manhattan near my apartment. Heard a loud jet noise just above me. Lo and behold, it was a low-flying 747 with the space shuttle riding piggy-back!
