Hi, Can I please have some feedback on UT USA from Flight1. Have recently purchased UT Alaska-Canada and after resolving a flaw with Vancouver shutting down the FS, I am finding it very useful. A vast difference to fly in Alaska and Canada now. I am contemplating to get the UT USA now but have some concern with hundreds of Add-on airports I have in the US; and its effect on it. Any advice on pros and const on UT USA would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Hi Dorian. Actually (I guess instinct) I have disabled the RR option before I checked the fall seasonal bug. All OK now. Cheers

You hit the nail on the head Dorian, YES, Vancouver with UT A/C opens in Spring, Summer and Winter!! But still bit of a mystery. After opening airport in above three seasons, it now also opens in the Fall? No complaints! Cheers,

Must correct my below post. UT Alaska-Canada from Flight1 downloaded with portion of UT-USA. When both active my FS shuts down around Vancouver. When I deactivate UT-USA portion of the download the Vancouver does not shut down my FS BUT!! the shorelines around Fairchild or Detroit (borders with Canada) are SQUARE. So, currently have both active UT Alaska-Canada and the UT USA portion which came with it and unfortunately have to avoid Vancouver area to prevent my FS shut downs. Perhaps the full UT-USA install would fix this problem, but got so many add-ons in the US, that I am but hesitant to install it? PS saw the post in AVSIM forum about the same issue at Vancouver. FS shutting down. So perhaps a flaw in the UT download?

xtc, It was exactly opposite in my case. The inclusion of the UT USA with UT Alaska-Canada was shutting my FS at YVR.

Finally found out what caused YVR not to show up. When I downloaded/purchased/installed UT Canada-Alaska from Flight1 it also installed part of UT USA - see below. Somehow this clashed with Canadian bgls. And was shutting down FS when I started or approached Vancouver. Disabling UT USA helped this and YVR is now open for traffic again. Hi, Following on my previous threat and for those with Ultimate Terrain Canada-Alaska add-on from Flight1. Does the Vancouver YVR airport open for you without the FS shutting down? Going to YVR shuts down my FS even after I cleared all my previous add-ons in this area. (CZBB, CYNJ and CYXX in the area also shuts down my FS). Thanks for any advise on possible conflicts.

Hi Steve, do not have Vancouver plus, also have reverted back to default YVR and is shuts the FS down anyway. for Chris, yes have turned down AI completely, no luck either. Also checked the airports around. CZBB, CYNJ and CYXX all default shut down the FS also. So probably has to do with the Canada US transition. Although East Coast YUL/YMX, also close to the border are OK. Basically Vancouver area is shut down for me - somehow the Ultimate terrain prevents flying there???

Hi Dorian, Finally have obtained the Alaska-Canada Ultimate Terrain from Flight1. Looks great - nice improvement in scenery. I just have an issue whenever approaching Vancouver CYVR. The FS shuts down. I even deactivated the enhanced YVR airport I had, still no help. I have NO add-on airports in vicinity of YVR! Starting the flight at YVR instantly shuts down the FS. Other areas in Alaska and Canada seem OK. Still doing some detective work and hope to crack this YVR issue but no luck sofar. Any clues appreciated.

Hi Gents, did not see this post until now and thanks for the compliment. I would just add something to these instructions - what I recently started using. Installed in the cockpit (if not there already) trim gauge such as:gaugexx=hg_trim_dig2!Digital Trim w Reset. When completing the point 8 - engaging AP altitude hold the aircraft sometimes pitches up or down before it catches the selected VSI. Note the trim reading at this point and that is the trim I preselect before take-off. When this trim is preselected the aircraft does not pitch when AP altitude hold is selected and nicely follows the selected VSI. ALSO (not related) it is recommended - mainly those using keyboard to check two boxes in FSUIPC Miscellaneous section: "Center Elevator on AP Alt Change" and "discon elev trim axis for AP" This achieves a nice smooth transition when AP is disconnected - without aircraft pitching up or down. Mainly useful when disconnecting AP on approach hold. Cheers

Hi again, hit the bulls eye. The panel gauge "Digital!Turbine_EPR_controller_JT8D-7" dictates the reverser smoke (only showing when TR is selected) on landing. Funny, because neither Caravelle or BAC111 have the JT8Ds. You pointed me in a right direction Chuck. Many Thanks!

Thanks again, yes must be in panel.cfg, since I use this panel on different Caravelle aircraft and the smoke is showing correctly in each. Must be in c10rbgt2 gauge. Will try to ID what is limiting smoke to TR deployment only. Quite challenging, I expect:)

Hi there, Am often getting this nuisance run time error, which terminates FS. It was established that AI keep causing it, since when I zero traffic it does not occur. Any idea how to ID the AI aircraft, which could be causing this nuisance? Many Thanks for any help.

Hi Chuck, Many Thanks it works fine but I am only 1/2 way there. The reverser smoke is now visible all the time during take-off and flight+++?? In Caravelle it only shows correctly only when the thrust reverse is applied. P.

Hi Charlie, I am using the right coordinates, the TR smoke just does not show. Bit of a mystery since the exhaust smokes show just fine when I install these. It is just this TR smoke acting up. Cheers

Hi, Have this nice Engine Reversers smoke effect blowing forward from the Caravelle's two rear engines see lights 6 and 7 below. BUT when I install the same effect in another aircraft and apply the reverser on landing the smoke is not showing (BAC111 in my case and others)? Any idea what might be causing it? Thanks Dorian, I do use Google and also have looked at the site you suggested. But it does not seem to work. I guess I will need to figure out the ""new hoops to jump through"". Also I am bit concerned about the hundred's of add-on sites I have. which I do not want to be affected. So will probably give up this idea. Cheers. Peter

Hi Any idea where I can get (download from) the Ultimate Terrain Alaska so often referred to in sceneries. I got the Glacier Bay with amazing Juneau area but cannot find the Ultimate Terrain? Any advice appreciated, Many Thanks Peter
