  1. If that's directed to me, sorry but I don't understand.
  2. Thanks for your thoughts, as I feared it seems a non-starter. @mrzippy: I did try the usual FSX save but only FSX was saved, I was hoping there might be an easy way to save the lot. @JSkorna: Configured might be the wrong word, but they still have to be loaded and information, such as flight plan, entered. @Ray Hff: I'm afraid that's way over my head, sorry you put so much effort into your reply but I hope it might help someone else. @pomak249: No idea why you think my FSX is in C/Progam Files (x86), it's actually in its own partition (F for Flight Sim!) in a separate SSD. Thanks again for all your help everyone, it's very much appreciated.
  3. Hi Guys, I'm probably wanting the impossible, but no harm in asking! I know how to save a flight so I can restart at any time, but can this include other associated software? To be specific, I'd like to save a FSX flight whilst at the departure gate with the following: PMDG 747, ActiveSky Next, Multicrew Experience, Radar Contact. Obviously I need to select a flight plan and load necessary fuel for my intended destination, but I'd like to avoid the rigmarole of starting and configuring all the various products mentioned. Is this possible, please?
  4. Sorry for late reply but lots of things have got in the way! The joystick has worked perfectly for 20 years in FSX (and previously in FS2004) with Win 10 (previously Win 7). Anyhow, I've got it fixed for just over £100 and can recommend Electronic Partners of Telford for anyone in the UK. As they say: "We fix things that others can't!" :)
  5. Thanks for reply, but I'm now confident that my measured (open circuit) 26v is normal as it should be 24v under load. For information, I've used this stick in FSX without a problem for a couple of decades.
  6. Over a thousand views, but no replies. Am I the only simmer who still has one of these wonderful sticks?
  7. Good afternoon and a Happy New Year! My Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 Joystick has given excellent service for the past 20 years but I've just switched it on and the green LED is flashing and I have no force feedback. When I Googled this problem, every answer says that it is a PSU fault but I've removed that board and measured 26 volts output which I believe is correct. Does someone with experience of these joysticks have any suggestions, please?
  8. As usual when you ask about FSX (or any of the other Flt Sims) in the various versions of Window, some have horrendous problems whilst others are problem free. All set-ups are different, so we all get different results. Only definite answer is to try it yourself! Good luck. :)
  9. Haven't you noticed there's a global deadly pandemic which is the equivalent of a World War against an invisible enemy? Most people have more important things to do rather than play computer games.
  10. No problem, my FSX system has been like it for a decade. It also has the advantage that the additional scenery HDD only has fixed files (unless you add any) so doesn't need to be included in a weekly back-up regime once you've done the original back-up to wherever.
  11. As usual whenever the "FSX with Win10" question is asked, some have had mega-problems and some find it runs perfectly. I've no idea why, but thank goodness I'm in the latter category! I can only suggest you try your current disks and only pay for Steam if they don't work. Good luck!
  12. I fly the PMDG 747 almost exclusively, so real world flights would normally be long haul and hence an extended cruise. I get around this in the sim by flying unrealistic routes, like London to/from Paris. It's long enough to reach cruising altitude, but not for long enough to be boring!
  13. Just hope, at 75, I'll live long enough to see it!
  14. Yes, I can't help feeling the update was issued simply because it's due, rather than anything major.
  15. There will always be those who will defend the new sim no matter what, but the tales of woe just convince me that I have made the right decision to stick with FSX for a couple of years until most of the MSFS bugs are ironed out. See you in 2022!
  16. One of the reasons I'm waiting for at least two years before taking the plunge! I'm the same with cars. I've just bought one of the last Mk7.5 Golf's off the production line after a 6 year run.
  17. By the time they get all (most) of the bugs out of MSFS2020 I'll be over 80, so I think I'll be sticking to FSX, especially as I've opened my TG wallet big time to buy all the add-on scenery.
  18. No, I won't be going back, but this is like one of those "Have you stopped beating your wife?" questions. The reason I won't be going back is because I like FSX and have no intention of going forward!
  19. AS2012 working normally again this morning. As I posted earlier, this has happened several times over the years and always comes good after a few days. I do find it annoying that HiFi won't acknowledge the problem.
  20. Has anyone had a reply from HiFi yet? With so many of us getting the problem at the same time, something must have changed at their end.
  21. I use AS2012 and this happens from time to time. I've no idea what causes it (my computer time is always correct) but just wait and all will come good again.
  22. From long experience, I've found that if you wait for the next big component upgrade, you'll never buy anything!
  23. I was at Grammar School in the 60's here in the UK (I think you'd call it High School). No TV allowed, but we had an American teacher on some sort of exchange scheme, who would come to school with a Stars & Stripes pennant in his hat after every launch. Us kids loved it, but the Headmaster took a very dim view!
  24. One of the blessings of the current situation is that we are relieved of the idiots racing up and down on their motorbikes at all hours of the day and night. As someone said to me, the louder the exhaust, the smaller the brain!
  25. Situations like this bring out the best and worst in people. Here in the UK, the government asked for 250,000 young volunteers to help the elderly and that number has been exceeded within 24 hours. Alas, there have also been reports of ambulances and food delivery vans being torched by young gangs, who seem to find it entertaining...
