  1. Ty,

I probably didn't tic of DME on the Radio. Where do you see ILQQ. I saw altitude switch from 1.3  to 5-6 as is normal looked like ILQQ

I just  deleted it @YouTube, I can put it back up or another using my 737 or other heavy and get same result  "Definition of insanity is..."

I can create this flight 100 times, SOS. Why do you think I asked here about that specific approach? Untitled.thumb.jpg.87fac0cd0e3378e725adb2b8a9dca30f.jpg

  2. Ty Again,

"Situational awareness"  I Like that, also I was tuned to 111.10, 110.10=typo...

I was switched to GPs, I originated flight at midway, thus the GPS, and below it willt. It's hard to see the switch in bottom of the jpg.

I can't explain all my flights, ILS/GPS set to 111.10 27L veering off at ~3000-2400ft 3-4 miles out(Actually (600ft) accounting for airport elevation of 600ft, or PHNL(If you saw the video I deleted, I was low on approach) or Pudong, KLAX etc. Also, The KSEA To KORD video above, I did cut AP off 8 years ago, I musta known it veer!

I never have a problem fs9 ILS waves grabbing me 10-20 miles or further out, and up.

Do you fly FS9?, or any1 here try the approach see what happens...

    Ty,

no, I do not listen to ATC. I follow speed rules up to about FL170, then open it up till I get to FL 330/FL335-FL360/FL355 North-West rule  500ft odd/ even. I don't slew, well I have. I use the map to drag the plane up to 120nm out, then I follow the 3-1 rule.

If I'm at FL 360, I cut the engines to neutral, 120nm out and descend at ~1500fps.

As far as the veering off goes, I looked at some old PHNL landings, like 13+ years ago, and landing 4L or 4R, I had to cut the AP off a couple of miles out and keyboarded my way in. So PHNL has always done it on 4L and R. KORD 9L/R is new to me, (I never tried Southern approach b4 either) I have no problem coming in from the west, never have 14L/R? I also never had a problem coming in over lake Michigan 27L /R till I tried today, maybe I need to create a new flight, as you can see on below video KORD 27L/R brings me right in... Now, I'm Using Win10 Pro, and have migrated all my planes and scenery etc., from xp to 7, and now 10, soo.

    TY again,

It's just those runways as far as I know, I just Got bored and figured I'd stretch my wings, (the video's are a might as well, while I'm at it thing) Start+G gives you Xbox live recorder  then I have to use Msft Clipchamp to add Music... It used to take Fraps, Xvid, and NCH, a couple of days  as opposed to an hr., or 2!

Actually I did turn AP off about 4 miles  out from KORD 27L, so I guess I knew  years ago it was going to veer. It could be scenery I added for Meigs Field and or Chicago buildings. I can land KORD 22R. 14L, and R np, 27 L/R for that matter...

FWIW: KLAX, from what I recall, coming in from the S SE(HI) the 2 RT runways veer, the Left 2 are fine. Coming in from the East to KLAX all's well. All my major CA. Airports are fine SFO, KSAN etc. Shanghai Pudong coming from the West only 1 runway won't veer, from the E, all's well. Shanghai city scenery is killer, There's a couple of flybys in a Turboprop on my YouTube think it's Worx. I don't recall any where else in the world I have a problem.

    Ty,

I doubt there's a cure for my install...

When you fly IFR, do you follow ATC instructions? And if so does this weering happen? Also did you try the flight w/o fast forwarding?

Does ILS affect it? Many qs. Also posting a video showing the event would help.

  5. Dear Flightsim,

I fly mainly big passenger planes, Heavy's, Camsims Boeings, Air buses, Antonovs etc.

I go to an airport i.e.: KATL, or Wherever, create a flight plan, IFR rules, find my destination airports code for a specific runway, set altimeter, climb rate,  heading, switch it to GPS and take-off.

When I get to altitude, I fast fwd to 120 miles out or so, and start to descent.

It only happens a a few airports runways. Today I was landing Chicago O'Hare,  runway 9L  Nav1 set to 110.50, punched in approach on the GPS and when I got a couple of miles out it just veers way left WTH?  I know I can come in from the N/W or Straight down over Lake Michigan NP, normally I shut off AP when I'm lined up good, but it will take me str8 in with it on...

Same goes with Hawaii 4L and 4R, I've flown that so many times I can cut the AP off 3-4 miles out and keyboard her in, no joy Stick flying here...

    Anyway what's the deal?

    TIA,

  6. JSMR,

Get rid of the c++ dx11 install by restoring your computer to last restore point(system restore).

Then Delete Everything -->>> delete all the folders/files Under C:\Flight Simulator 9 ( not the C:\Flight Simulator 9 main)

You're not trying to do this on an external drive, or an internal d or f etc., drive?

Use only C:\ after system restore re-read my prior post...

    gl

  7. Did you create a restore point b4 updating DX11 and c++?

Are you sure your full load of Win10 on original SSD is not trying to dual boot, or interfering any way with the new SSD?

I'd say if your sure you have no conflicts, other than the new dx11 and c++

Just take your clean install of fs9 on your SSD boot drive, delete all the folders/files Under C:\Flight Simulator 9 ( not the C:\Flight Simulator 9 main) Screenshot 2022-01-30 223231.jpg

and copy all the folders/files from one of your old fs9 installs from (1033 first folder) to the bottom file

You have a registered version of fs9 installed, so no regedits or tools, you're just going to replace everything beneath C:\Flight Simulator 9 with a copy of old fs9 files/folders.

The 9.1 update should be in your old files/folders when you copy them to the big blank space under C:\Flight Simulator 9.

    The c++ and dx11 I don't know, I'd uninstall them if possible.

  8. Hey guys, rookie question because I've been out of action for a few months. PC m/b failed and needed a almost complete rebuild. BUmmer.

But I still have my old HDD/SSD installed on it with all my data intact. Phew.

Trying to load up FS9 and I get the not compatible Directx version on the W10 Pro (directx12). FS9 needs directx9 i believe?

I could install a new fs9 version I guess and that will put it on. Is that the best solution?

    Dear JSMR,

Are you saying your mobo wigged out and you're still using the same HDD, and SSD as your 1st and second drives? Is the SSD is still your Win1O C:\ and HDD is your storage, Or you replaced them both with new mobo, and now they're separate drives/ storage?

  9. In the weeds now...

I always used FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) not the Flight 1, my system kept blocking flight 1...

https://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library get --->(FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) I also have a post on this thread how to add the registry entry manually by finding the fsx install in the registry, and adding a couple of values...

Scroll down about 7 posts to where I started with a link to: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/registry-keys-fsx-fsx-se-p3dv1-p3dv2.432633/

Read what I wrote before opening above link: This AM I searched for(where is registry entry for Microsoft Flight Simulator X)and the kind Person above verified I was in the right place in the registry.

I would 1st try copying your old Addon Scenery files over your new install, and copy your old Aircraft folder over new install aircraft folder.

Then delete your fs9 desktop shortcut, create a new 1 from inside Fs9 main folder, It should go right to desktop, if not cut and paste it to desktop, Rt., click properties, set compatibility mode to windows xp service pack 3, mine is not set to run as administrator under advanced.

Also did you run the Flight Simulator 2004 Update V9.1 no cd crack??

  10. Dear JSMR,

I don't know if I'm any help, have you figured it out?

    I don't understand your Direct X problem, I'm running Direct x 12, the Copy/paste from Win 7 Dx9 to Win 10 Dx 12 vs 9 was never an issue for me. Fwiw I wouldn't install Dx9 over Dx12 on Win10 computer.

I've gone from xp to 7 to 10 over the years, Using Swobbie's solution only for the latest move from 7 to 10. Prior to that I just reinstalled FS9, then copied my scenery/ aircraft files over the new install scenery/aircraft folders.

I have used msft flight sim since '93 Dos, to Win 3.1, all iterations. It wasn't until xp and fs9/ 2004 that I started adding the freeware scenery and planes, making a "KISS" move more important, not wanting to lose/ reinstall COUNTLESS hrs., of addon scenery/ planes etc.

For this install (swobbie, Keep it simple stupid) I copied/pasted the old Folder from a "mounted" windows 7 WindowsImageBackup image (Win7) D:\Flight Simulator 9 to to a new Windows 10 pc Directly to Win10 C:/ creating the Win10 C:\Flight Simulator 9 folder.

I think it just takes a day to figure out, if I recall this Ain't your first rodeo with fs9. gl, ts

I also got all my original call of duties 1-2, 4, Halo, Wolfenstein RTCW working without/despite steam etc., all original disks from early 2000's...

  11. Ty,

I thought I deleted the post where Fraps answered me?

I used Fraps to create the videos in xp and or win7, not used for playback, that was movie maker, now it's TV & Movies in win10...

This video I created with xbox aka (Start key+G) then it saved to Default Videos folder, then I just uploaded it to YouTube.

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to add my trademark rock & roll music to the video...

VLC is on my computer, I see no way, yet, to add music...

    TS

Fwiw,, all of my fraps videos had to compressed 90% without losing quality, I don't remember what I used xvid, nch

Regardless, point is, I want to add music to video.

I used to do it with movie maker, I'll get there

    TS

  12. Sorry guys, way off topic, I posted in Fraps forum here, they said ask in 2004 forums...

When I open Fraps, I get an error It'll record Sound, no video

    fraps.jpg

Win 10 pro I have the latest version of Fraps 3.5.99.

When I tried to record a flight in Microsoft flight sim 2004 aka, fs9 or FS2004, I got an error (The custom video player etc., etc., is not compatible with fraps, codecs etc., etc...

Then it opens my default programs and says choose one, then: this item was encoded in a format not recognized etc., etc.,

    Is there a work around?

I've written Fraps to no avail.
