  1. I’m not sure Microsoft understand the subtle difference between a Patch and a Hammer.
  2. The patch has removed the sensitivity settings. My pedals are now unusable as the slightest input is wildly and disastrously exaggerated. Was using sensitivity settings to set them up right.
  3. Maybe but it makes my rudder pedals unusable as just putting my feet on them sends me into a death spin.
  4. Checked the Discord and it’s widespread. A big Golf Clap all round.
  5. What gear? I have thrustmaster t16000m throttle, stick and pedals.
  6. Er - is it just me or has the Sensitivity Option been bust. The option is there for my rudder for instance but the only option is DONE. No slider. Seems to be true of all the Thrustmaster axes. I noticed because suddenly every time i put my foot on the rudder pedals it triggered wild gyrations. Something I had cured with the Sensitivity setting.
  7. It costs you £1 plus download time to try out 2020. X-Plane looks like a good and mature product and I’ve been tempted by it, especially by access to helicopters but in the end getting so much in the default 2020 won out. Isn’t it great that we have so many great choices for flight sims now?
  8. Maybe but all I know is trying to work my thrustmaster set through a Mains powered hub in Elite Dangerous doesn’t work at all well. You get all kinds of freaky ghost inputs.
  9. Yea - controllers all working through a powered hub tend not to play well together.
  10. I kept getting that. Never figured out what I was doing wrong.
  11. The program will take 100gb of your ssd right off. Not to mention w10 if you boot off it. Then there’s caching scenery and mods. Over a few years this is all going to add up. Might be an idea to spring for a bigger ssd. And certainly a couple of terra-bytes of hdd for other stuff.
  12. Yes, sometimes I wish the plane would at least come with an oil rag. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. i can land it but not in the few tens of yards it should. Need more practice but at least for me the throttle issue is it won’t zero. It is always generating thrust. T literally won’t stop moving forward. Don’t have this issue with any other ship. Completely shutting down the engine before touchdown might be the answer. Despite the issues I am really enjoying this plane.
  14. Yea. Realism or not, the scenery is a major selling point and I want to appreciate it like I can in all the others. I don’t regret buying it but someone has dropped several quality testing balls on this one.
  15. No problem. There’s also another serious issue. The throttle doesn’t zero. That’s partially why it’s so reluctant to land and why when you spawn in it’s moving. Hopefully it gets all fixed up soon because otherwise it’s fun to fly and trims out easily.
  16. This is just a shot in the dark but did you try and install it into a non standard file structure instead of just pointing it at a drive and letting it do the rest so it thinks it doesn’t exist? Probably not but I’m throwing it out there just in case. Hope you get it sorted. Meanwhile I would let it run andsee what happens.
  17. I find the quick snap turn of the head view useful but if you don’t just reassign the snaps to another control and move non snap views to the yoke. I left the snaps on the stick pov hat but use another hat for looking around.
  18. Maybe the flaps are modelled on yours and the windscreen isn’t a cataract simulator but mine is exactly as the OP describes, at least as of 8 hours ago.
  19. Third issue - the damn thing is allergic to the ground. It has a short takeoff but happily skims on zero throttle and full flaps about 6 inches from the runway for hundreds of yards. But otherwise is fun to fly. They better fix those other 2 issues though.
  20. If it has de-icing there will be active controls you can flip. I guess the answer to flying aircraft without de-icing in regions where you cannot avoid icing is to fly a different aircraft.
  21. If the plane doesn’t have de-icing then it’s part of the sim to watch the outside air temp, fly over or under the weather and seek warmer air if you do ice up. When it happens I think of it as an opportunity for adventure, not an inconvenience to work around.
  22. Also with you Buddy. Retired on health grounds, largely indoors due to the pandemic. This sim is a bit of a sanity saving window on the world. Loving it. And on a side note. If you prefer another sim - fine. There’s separate forums here for each one.I tried FSX and didn’t like it but somehow I’ve resisted the temptation to go to that forum and repeatedly say it.
  23. No problem. Notice the tick box next to it is inactive meaning there is no update available.
  24. If you’re undecided you can just take up the cheap X Box Live offer for a month and try it out. Sure you have to download it and sure, you might have to set up some controls but that’s easy and pretty straight forward. Even on the lower graphics settings it’s going to look way better than FSX. I fly VFR GA and haven’t had any real problems once I took the time to learn how the autopilot actually works rather than how I imagined it works. Are there issues? Sure but none that stop my ongoing Mediterranean tour. Sometimes I swear I don’t recognise the game some people, particularly those who haven’t played it, are describing.
