  1. Sorry, but page after page of 25k files that could easily been bundled into one (still relatively small) release is the last straw for me WRT this website.
  2. Have you read the "License" file? Gerard claims ownership of the files and gives his "permission" for people to SELL the source code. Also, a file does not need to contain a copyright notice in order to be copyrighted - quite the opposite - they would need a disclaimer saying they are NOT copyrighted in order to be used elsewhere. The bitmaps can certainly be used outside FSX
  3. "Without virtual cockpit" but includes image of VC!? Nothing like a bit of free advertising, I guess.
  4. Not sure why you need a picture. This is nothing more than the expanded default G1000.cab file with slightly edited xml (or simply some whitespace removal in places) and 1 new bitmap (the magenta diamond) added. I'm not sure that taking someone else's copyrighted files and posting them as "open source" is actually legal.

  6. Not sure where all this talk of Simconnect has come from. This package contains: 1) KB961894_VC _Post_2005_SP1 2) UIAutomationCore.dll 6.0.6001.18000 1) is a Windows runtime library update that, funnily enough, allows windows to detect and apply a further VC 2010 Library update. 2) Is a DLL that "should" prevent crashes when accessing menus. I have, however, used this version in the past and had it cause problems under Windows 7. I "downgraded" to version 6.0.5840.16386 and have not had any problems with it. Maybe, once the update in 1) takes effect, then the version included will work properly. If not, then try the version listed.
  7. The purpose of using "Fallbacks" is so that you do not need to create copies of textures in different directories. Simplest method would be: 1. Copy texture._New-Blue into the C-47 folder. 2. Edit texture.cfg in texture.EATS_315221 and texture.Paratrooper to fallback as follows: [fltsim] fallback.1=..\texture._New-Blue fallback.2=..\texture fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Texture fallback.4=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
  8. Previous comment should have read "3rd party aircraft and rotorcraft addons" Almost forgot, does this utility check for the full filename, or just filename.*, i.e. will it delete/backup dds files which have been converted from bmp files thinking that they are unused?
  9. Make sure to use the backup option, as some textures are used by 3rd party scenery and aircraft addons
  10. Pressing F10 is a lot simpler than editing a bunch of cfg files
  11. ~10,000 downloads across all forums and you're the only one that "finds" a trojan ... I suggest you turn your AV off
  12. The changes are all listed in the file. However, it is now completely unflyable :/
  13. I accidently found out how to run the databse update under Windows 7. Using a program called oSpy (freeware), I thought I would try to trace the program execution to see what exactly was causing the problem - only to find out that, once the process is spawned via oSpy, the database updater runs perfectly fine :- so, no need to mess with your boot processes :)

  15. I don't see the point in giving away a free certificate - it is better to earn it by actually learning the procedures. I know some people will come back with "but it's impossible to pass ....." No, it's HARD but not impossible - as all good tests should be - it just requires effort. I passed on my 4th attempt by flying the procedures over and over again in Free Flight until it was second nature and then learning where the "gotchas" are in the test.
