  1. Did you - very importantly - 1. Install outside C:\Program Files (x86), and 2. Run the installer as Administrator? Jorgen
  2. Pomak249, No, it cannot be that. To install Acceleration, you first have to install DeLuxe, then Acceleration on top of that. For the correct installation of Acceleration, there are plenty of threads in this forum where the correct procedure is described. Jorgen
  3. There is no need at all to run FSX in XP compatibility mode. But installing it OUTSIDE C:\Program files or C:\Program Files(x86) is a MUST, as is running it as Administrator. Jorgen
  4. What Mr. Pedy should have done: opened a new thread for his problem. What Mr. Pedy can do: check if there is a system restore point just before he installed Rex X. What Mr. Pedy can also do: contact Rex tech support for help. Jorgen
  5. The file is actually called Prepar3D.cfg..... Jorgen
  6. Ahem.... this thread died a quiet death, circumstances unknown, about 4 years ago.... Jorgen
  7. And why didn't you use AIFP to look for the REAL cause of this? I told you how to do that on the L-M forums...... To me it looks like that in the ORBX AUNZ AI traffic there is a FS9 traffic file hidden somehow. Mind you, that is how I see it, and I don't have ORBX so cannot test for it. Jorgen
  8. And keep the cargo secured. Nothing like loose cargo, especially heavy items, running around, disturbing the CG and causing this entry in the airframe's log book: "Aircraft departed controlled flight and impacted terrain at high speed. Aircraft w/o." Jorgen
  9. To repeat: what are your system specs, including Windows version? Jorgen
  10. Is this a laptop with integrated speakers, or are the speakers external speakers, and if so, approximately how long are the speaker cords? Jorgen
  11. BushBrat, What are your system specs? Jorgen
  12. You can also turn UAC on or off as desired by using a freeware utility called TweakUAC. Jorgen
  13. Mr. Zippy, I assume you mean avsim.ru? I have never had issues there... Anyway, an easy way to deal with UAC is to get a freeware utility called TweakUAC, which lets you turn UAC on or off as you might desire in a jiffy. Jorgen
  14. That was a hurried reply, but still important. I also see that you have this installed under C:\Program Files (x86), where, especially under Windows 10, UAC (User Account Control) likes to get its ugly fingers into everything. Try to run FSX as an Administrator is one thing I would recommend. Some people don't like to disable UAC, but I have done that using a freeware program called TweakUAC, and have never had any issues because of that. Jorgen
  15. FSUIPC could be the culprit, but I seriously doubt it. It might be worth uninstalling it and then see what happens. I believe that the culprit more likely is some AI traffic, or AI airplane. If you uninstall FSUIPC and then get an error involving ai_player.dll, then it IS an AI problem. What kinds of AI traffic do you have installed, where do you have your AI airplanes and your AI traffic files stored? Jorgen PS: Very personal opinion, but I hate it when people call a flight simulator a "game".... sorry, again personal peeve.
  16. To find the error in Event Viewer: Fly something that you know will give you a crash. When the crash happens, note the time! Now look in Event Viewer for errors happening at that time-stamp. Jorgen
  17. Bryan, you can have both Win 7 and Win 10 (and Linux etc. also for that matter) on the same computer. What you need to create is a dual-boot system, try to Google that. Jorgen
  18. Ahem... FS9, aka FS2004 will work very nicely under Win 10, thank you. I have also had CFS2 and CFS3 working fine under Win 10. Jorgen
  19. You don't have to run Win 10 the way it comes out of the box from Microsoft. I run everything off the desktop, have set Windows Updates to occur when I decide to run them, and taken out all the bloatware (read: Cortana, for instance) that MS saw fit to "provide". Result: a fast, reliable OS, that runs FSX, P3D v. 4.5 plus some legacy software without any issues. Jorgen
  20. If any company - any company at all - even were to THINK about such a behavior, they would have so many cases against them in the courts in no time flat that it isn't even funny. What would happen in a blatant case of an EULA violation is that their lawyer would contact you and say "Ahem" - then your lawyer and their lawyer would take it from there and get rich. Get your hardware up and working, install P3D, and if there then is any issue or problem then just post it here or in the P3D forums at L-M, we'll help you out. Jorgen
  21. I liked XP Pro, a great fast OS. That said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Win 10 that a little creative work with a sledgehammer and a screwdriver will not fix. The trick is not to run it on Microsoft's terms, but to make it run on YOUR terms. There are plenty of articles out on the Internet that tells you how you can customize it to run the way you want it. Jorgen
  22. Inuss has the USAAC/USAAF/USAF designations right. The USN designation was the JRB, the British/Canadian name was the Expeditor. I don't recall exactly when Beech did this, but they turned the main landing gear around so the main leg attached to the rear of the nacelle, then they lengthened the nose and put a nose gear leg there, and now the airplane had a tricycle landing gear! Jorgen
