  1. Gentlemen, I have been trying to log into Simmershome, but my username and password there has been invalidated because of a system reorganization on the site. There is no newcomer registration there as far as I can see, and the "lost password" function does not work because they do not recognize my old user name. Does anyone know how to get around this? Thanks in advance - Jorgen
  2. The model is the basic aircraft "skeleton", onto which you hang the texture - as you say, the livery. Many FSX replacement models can be found on the AIG website. And. as Wim says, the WoAI flightplans should be deleted, they are hopelessly outdated. Jorgen
  3. In this case, I feel that a resurrection of this old thread is justified! What I would suggest is some replacement mesh of the area, if available. There used to be a free product named FreeMesh, but as far as I can see their website was closed some time ago. Jorgen
  4. SInce the thread is 5 years old, I don't think you'll get a response..... Jorgen
  5. What is the free space reported on the C: and F: drives? On a SSD, you have to run "Defragment and optimize your drives" from Windows Control Panel from time to time to mark space previously used by deleted files reusable again - this will NOT defragment a SSD! So you need to run that at least on the F: drive, and if C: is a SSD on that also. Also, go into C:\Users\\Temp and delete everything in there. Jorgen
  6. On my Windows 10 system, FSX was working fine with this driver version until a few days ago. A few days ago? I had FSX, P3D v. 4.5 and P3D v. 5 installed, and it was simply too much work to keep everything updated, even with my copious free time as a retiree. So now I only have P3D v. 5.... Jorgen
  7. I could believe that is because their textures are in bmp format, the aircraft should re-appear if you convert the textures to dds format. Jorgen
  8. Well, this thread has been dormant for almost 3 years, but your issue is real. What graphics card do you have, what driver version do you have now, and - crucial - is Windows 10 also updated, including "other Microsoft products"? Jorgen
  9. Sir, I do beg to differ: that was not 2 cents, that was at least a couple of dollars!!! Jorgen
  10. Normally, and ideally, the AI traffic files should be in \Scenery\World\Scenery. But, on occasion, some developers (of scenery, primarily), stick traffic files in their folders.... so they could be more or less anywhere in your FSX files. Jorgen
  11. Use AIFP to check for and convert any FS9-format traffic files to the FSX format. Jorgen
  12. The "Defrag and optimize" in Windows Control Panel will NOT defrag a SSD, only mark previously used areas as ready to use again. Unfortunately, some other utilities will defrag SSDs. Jorgen
  13. How much free space on the drive (which drive, btw?)? Try running the "Free up disk space" from Control Panel if this is your C: drive, and then, especially if this is a SSD, the "Defrag and optimize" also. Jorgen
  14. All development on FSX itself has ceased many years ago. Your best bet is to find seaplane base add-ons, either here or elsewhere. ORBX has some that are even freeware. Jorgen Edit: here is a place where you might be able to find freeware seaplane bases: https://www.freewarescenery.com/fsx.HTML
  15. I believe that there is a thread about this topic in the forums at prepar3d.com Jorgen
  16. Thank you Hal, I will try this out in the next couple of days and report back. Jorgen
  17. I have had a pretty bad Windows issue, which made a Windows re-installation necessary. This in turn makes a re-installation of FSX necessary, and I thought that at one time I had seen a post that MS had closed down the activation servers. Is that correct? And if so, is there a way around that problem? Thanks in advance - Jorgen
  18. This line in the report tells you exactly what happened: Exception code: 0xc0000005 This comes from Windows, and it tells you that "something" tried to write to an area of RAM where it had no access rights. The "something" is most likely an incompatible or badly programmed add-on. And in all the cases of this error that I have seen, it has been so. Jorgen
  19. FSX is always a 32-bit application, and therefore will use up to 4 GB of VAS (Virtual Address Space), if enough RAM is available for it, and that is also true for a 32-bit Windows, which can only address up to 4 GB of RAM. Example: Way back when I had a Windows XP 32-bit system with 4 GB RAM. FSX would grab around 3.5 GB, the rest was for the OS. Now I have a Windows 10 64-bit system with 16 GB of RAM, FSX grabs the 4 GB it can. What processor speed would be best? Easy - the fastest one your budget will allow. Jorgen
  20. This exception code at the end of your report: Exception code: 0xc0000005 tells us that something - most likely a badly programmed or incompatible add-on - is trying to write to an area of RAM where it has no access rights. So, did you add something recently? Jorgen
  21. The exception code in that error report tells us that something - most likely a badly programmed or incompatible add-on - is trying to write to an area of RAM where it has no access rights. So the question is, of course: what did you add to FSX at that time? Jorgen
  22. No, I am not, but if you need support for ANY third-party add-on then the first line of support is the developer - they are supposed to know how their product works. Jorgen
  23. The best thing you can do is to contact the developer. Jorgen
  24. Strange. I do not see any of those 2 issues on my system with v. 5.2. Jorgen
  25. First to enlighten Larry - AIFP3 is AI Flight Planner v. 3, by Don Grovestine. Second, AIFP works the same way for FSX and P3D. Jorgen
