FSX Piper PA-24 Comanche 260B. This FSX Piper PA24 Comanche 260B is based on the existing (SCOMANCH.ZIP) airplane made by Mike Stone. Besides being adapted to the 260 HP version in the aircraft configuration files for FSX, it adds the actual set of 30-gallon fuel tanks, six seats or baggage; weight and balance problems to Mike Stone's simulation of the Piper Comanche, manufactured in 1965 to 1972. This airplane comes complete, in that it has all the necessary gauges found in Mike Stone's panel(s) and those provided by the 180 HP "Panel Files" in (PA_24_180_COMANCHE_UPD.ZIP). Compiled By Ronald Prindle.

FSX Piper PA-24 Comanche 250. This FSX Piper PA24 Comanche 250 is based on the existing (SCOMANCH.ZIP) airplane made by Mike Stone. Two texture versions are provided and besides updating the reference material in the aircraft configuration files for FSX, it has the actual set of 30-gallon standard fuel tanks, seating / baggage weight and balance problems added to Mike Stone's simulation of the Piper Comanche, manufactured in 1958 to 1964. This airplane comes complete, in that it has all the necessary gauges found in Mike Stone's panel(s) and those provided by the 180 HP "Panel Files" in (PA_24_180_COMANCHE_UPD.ZIP). Effectively, this is still Mike Stone's 250 Comanche, his blank textures and the Checklist PDF, from Mike's original airplane. Compiled By Ronald Prindle.

FSX Piper PA-24 Comanche 180 CS Updates. While flying this airplane and fully developing the 250, 260 and 400 HP Comanches, I discovered a need for an updated set of airspeed indicators, fuel gauges, weight and balance sheets, inflight checklists and reference data cards and a second texture, since so many repaints of Mike Stone's fine airplane exist. This update is complete in that all files will be "overwritten" of your existing \FS PA-24-180 Comanche CS folder. This is easier than walking you through the file-by-file changes. This is the same airplane you downloaded as (PA_24_180_COMANCHE.ZIP) with all the same files and gauges and the newest Panel.CFG and Aircraft.CFG changes incorporated. After this update, you will have the same green Comanche and a new red one, still a 180 HP version, both fine-tuned slightly from your last Commanche 180 Project. Updates By Ronald Prindle.

FSX Piper PA-24-180 Commanche. This FSX Piper PA-24 Comanche 180 CS is based on the existing (SCOMANCH.ZIP) airplane made by Mike Stone. Besides being adapted to the 180 HP version in the aircraft configuration files for FSX, it adds the actual set of 25-gallon fuel tanks, seating / baggage, weight and balance problems to Mike Stone's simulation of the Piper Comanche, manufactured in 1958 to 1964. This airplane comes complete, in that it has all the necessary gauges found in Mike Stone's panel(s) and those not already provided for in FSX. This airplane makes performance runs (fully loaded with full tanks) at ground speeds of 136 knots, burning roughly 11 GPH, at 2,500 RPM for the constant-speed prop at 25-inches of manifold pressure. I found this Comanche 180 airplane very interesting to fly, I hope you will to. AIrcraft.CFG By Ronald Prindle.

FSX - Gauges and Panels - Piper Fuel Selectors Update. Enclosed is an update for the \Piper_Fuel_Selectors folder that came along with the set of Cherokee Six airplanes recently uploaded as (FS_PA-32-260_CHEROKEE_SIX.ZIP) and (FS_PA-32-260_CHEROKEE_SIX_FP.ZIP). Along with the update folder, three Word Documents are enclosed to explain the need for the selector update as well as two items discovered during the repair of these selectors. I attempted to fully document a two-computer LAN-based "Formation Flying" setup without the need for the Internet. I also discovered why my MINIPANEL ("W" Key) options didn't work on some of my aircraft. I hope, besides the update, you find your "lost" Mini Panels and enjoy a two-pilot formation flying experience! By Ronald Prindle.

FSX Panels and Gauges--Artificial Vertical Guidance. Practical FSX Vertical Guidance Gauge for General Aviation. "What If" there was such a device that used field elevation at a waypoint for a VFR Pilot, would it look like this; applied to a simple Loran-C or RNAV VHF receiver, possibly seen in your rental before there ever was a GPS System onboard? Add one of these gauges to your existing King 8002 Loran, King KNS-80 RNAV, or Narco NS-800 RNAV receivers and any airfield position on earth can be navigated into on a 3-degree, calculated glide slope. Furthermore, you can setup a runway center-line approach using the OBS Knob, maybe to a field you have never been to before and make a "straight-in" arrival like it was your home base! Try out a VFR "Tee-Bar" approach, 10-nautical miles out, on any airfield. By Ronald Prindle.
  7. To All! I tried the following change to my Cherokee Six \Sound Folder and I like it a lot! Since it has come highly recommended by a Six Pilot, I am using the 182 sound alias as well. Update your text file to something like this; [fltsim] alias=Microsoft Cessna 182S FSX\sound //alias=Mooney Bravo/sound //alias=Mooney_Bravo/sound Your location maybe different than mine, but check it out, it is better! Ron P.

  9. Thank You! It's good to have positive feed back, I always wanted to fly a Six and FSX is as close as I'll ever get! Ron P.
  10. No Sound? Check the Sound.cfg text file for the "alias" setting, does it match the location of your Mooney Bravo, or is it Mooney_Bravo? I allowed for both arrangements, try the one that works for you! Ron P. 8/29/2020

FSX Piper Cherokee Six 260 FP. Piper Cherokee Six 260 "re-paints" are based on the existing (CHER_V2.ZIP) airplane made by Fred Choate, (found on this FlightSim.Com downloads section). Besides being adapted in textures and the configuration files for FSX, it adds the actual four-fuel tank airplane and seating / baggage weight and balance problems to Fred's simulation of the Piper Cherokee Six, in the 260 HP version of this airplane. This airplane comes complete, in that it has all the necessary gauges in the Piper Standard "single-engine" Panel, that not already provided for in FSX. This airplane makes performance runs (lightly loaded almost full tanks) at ground speeds of 130 knots, burning roughly 13 GPH, at 2,500 RPM for the fixed-pitch airplane and the constant-speed prop version (still 260 HP) does the same run at 140-145 knots, burning 14-16 GPH at 2,100 RPM and 21-inches of manifold pressure. I found this set of Cherokee Six 260 airplanes very interesting to fly, I hope you will to. Repaints By Ronald Prindle.

FSX Piper Warrior Repaints II. This FSX - General Aviation "Add On" is a package of "Texture files" that gives you three repaints of the (WARRIORC.ZIP) Piper Warrior (by Rien Cornelissen) which you should already have installed in your Microsoft Flight Simulator System. Simply by unzipping this \Warrior_Texture_II.ZIP folder into your existing Warrrior II folder and adding the text listed, (to your existing AIRCRAFT.CFG file) will bring you three airplanes that have flown at the Air-Mods Flight Training Center in New Jersey (USA). I was inspired by Christopher Clawson's (AIRMODSWARRIOR.ZIP) for the Piper Warrior repaints he did and found it fit my WARRIOR_TEXTURE.ZIP scheme perfectly. The design has grown on me and I thought others might enjoy it as well! Repaints by Ron Prindle.

FSX Piper Archer III PA28-181 N6770G. Archer III N6770G is a (textures-only) fictious airplane based on the existing (ARCHER3.ZIP) airplane made by Rien Cornelissen. The "textures-only" update are for the same Archer III, with and without wheel fairings as has been re-numbered for North America, in a red and white Acrcher III paint scheme. Using all the default Aircraft.CFG data and 2D 4x3 & 16x9 panels remain intact. Installation is simple, by adding the unzipped textures to the airplane folder you should have and by adding the required aircraft config text file update to activiate them, all should be well. 15. In defense of FSXWX, my Version 1.6.1 stopped working as well. After reading these comments, I checked my system and concluded the server "change" must be the answer. I thought how would one get a new server address and simply tried downloading Version 1.6.2. I'm back up and flying in the current weather! I guess the upgrade got me the server's location?
  16. Sorry for the typo, the paint scheme I "enhanced" was for 1979 not the 1974 I wrote in the ReadMe file! Ron

FSX Piper Cherokee 180 N8369W. '597 Flights of N8369W' is a "textures only" addition to the recent (PA28_180_CHEROKEE.ZIP) upload of the Piper Cherokee line for FSX. These re-paints and the updated Aircraft_CFG.TXT, bring to life the airplane that flew 597 Flights as documented by Bob Hecklinski's book; "Honey, I Bought an Airplane." 69W made history in its own right, by visiting so many airports and seeing people from March of 1990 until September of 2004. Try the "view" in this airplane that Bob saw, flying the State of Indiana's airports and visits beyond. The original N8121W airplane grows by two more Cherokees, with 79W (also found early on in Bob's book) "almost a sister to 69W". Installation is simple, by adding it to the unzipped airplane folder you should have \PA28_180, and by adding the required config text. Repaints By Ronald Prindle.
  23. F.Y.I. If you have or have seen issues with the Collins RNAV Receiver, as in it doesn't work or does not appear, or it always has a zero Radial and a zero Distance in it's display, you might want to think about adding "Logger" to your FSX, in that it's how I got the RNAV to use the last "saved" waypoint data between flights. I make reference to; (Logger_RNAV_UPD.ZIP) file found on this web site for the details. Since this was my first version of the ANS-351, it does not yet have memories in it, but will in version 2 and onward, I put the "Logger" logic into it, based again on my experience with the King KN-74 RNAV, so I suggest reading up on it and this will work for you! Enjoy! Ron Prindle

FSX Mooney Bravo Turbine Panels And Gauges. So you'd like to burn kerosene now? In the spirit of Terry Richard's FS2004 addition to your \Airplanes, I have gotten the (FS_2004_MOONEY-TURBINE.ZIP) file to install just fine in my FSX system. The addition of two new Mooney Bravo airplanes under the \Mooney Bravo Turbine\ folder, however was short my desire to have a working panel and gauges that "fit the task." Herein is my take on the application of an Allison Turbine in lieu of a default Cessna 208 operating airplane. I used the "proper" ignition and starter switches you would expect on a turbine-equipped airplane. A "procedures manual" too, was then a concern, so I made one from the Mooney Bravo PDF I found on the Internet and found the need for "torque monitoring" in this airplane not to be the case, but rather, fuel-flow, gas generator and propeller RPM monitoring allowed me to control this airplane. The new manual reflects those observations. Local panel modifications and new gauges helped me to better use this airplane and it is so interesting, I thought you might like to give Terry's airplane a try? FSX King LC-800x. This legacy King LC-800x Loran package makes use of C:\FSX_RNAV_LOGGER\ KING800x.CSV, file for ten (10) waypoint memories where the User's List of destinations are stored. Thanks to Robbie McElrath's "Logger" the project uses storage of these locations with direct panel access and editing. Included is a Remote CDI Indicator and a Waypoint "viewer" for each list, meaning the FSX Flight Planner is also used for training and study purposes, and uses independant navigation calculations while not relying on VHF nor GPS routines to discover world orientations. All XML files, as in past packages, can be installed manually, or with recomended editors like FS Panel Studio software for "better fits" to existing panels or new windows. Two document files explain the setup and operation of these lat/long DDM-based Loran Units. By Ronald Prindle.
