New Honey Comb Throttle Quadrant
DLR_41 replied to kevinfolsom's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 General Discussion
There was also a rubber figure/toy? In the box. Not sure what I’m supposed to do with it though LOL Your supposed to send that to your very good friend in Florala AL!' I did have some serious problems though.. in that I couldn’t get either of the three TVs to come on, and they kept stressing me out with a two minute countdown..saying “no signal†and then switching off. I was so stressed!! In the end I moved the pc to the bedroom and connected it to a small tv..guess what..it worked! I was then able to download the latest drivers for it and now it’s all sorted! I'm glad you got that sorted out, I would have probably busted a sweat as well! Hope you get a buyer pretty quick and get more than ya want for it! -

I checked out that video on those PSU's.. 50% failure rate! That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen! -

Not cost effective at the moment. Kinda looks like what I'm going through at this very moment though doesn't it? When the ATX adapter comes in stock I'll add the PSU and all should be well for the moment. I figure 6 months or so down the road around the Bday something will happen. I can punch numbers in the calculator and take a really good look at it. By then it may not cost much at all since I'm accumulating quite a number of the parts already. -

1+ on the USB Hub, I have one on the way. You, Plainsman and Steve have been very helpful on this. I just noticed after you guys called it out its on the listing. I guess I was just to excited to have found one that frickin available to notice. Plus, it was in the early AM. No excuses! hahahaha The power supply issue is a no brainer The one in the garage is 450W but a buddy has a few and I'm sure he'll have one. If not, more dinero out the door. I have about made up my mind to just peacing this thing together and maybe buy an Alienware next march that will handle anything I throw at it... but as we all know, it'll be obsolete 2 months later... -
Hope this works out

Yeah, I went through the specs and saw that, why I mentioned I can get one if I dont have it in the garage. Once upon a time I had more parts than I knew what to do with! I used some to teach a few kids how to build one and gave them what they built. I'm hoping this 365 will support it. Stranger things have been known to happen. If not, I'll break out the old rotary file set and cordless and make a mod. Then all I'll need is that adapter. What kind of performance do you think I can get out of that? Its 8 Gb and released in july of this year, I'm figuring (hoping) its got the HP to do what I want. At least satisfy my training in better than average and not MARGINAL like that Radeon software shines in REDí ½í¸† just to rub it in! -
You guys were right, that 560 was marginal even at minimum settings @ 2560X1440. I could get acceptable when I rolled back to 1080 but you know, that wasn't good enough. I went snooping around and found this: MSI - AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT GAMING X 8G GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Gaming Graphics Card I paid more than its worth for sure but as it turned out I applied and its going to cost me $36 a month with 0 interest. Soooo, anyone have or had any experience with this card? if I can get medium/ultra custom on it I'll be so happy I'll need a twin! This PWS is 365 watts so I'm going to give it a try. Maybe it'll get me by for a bit. if not I do have a 500 laying around here somewhere I do believe. If not, I'm pretty sure I can get one for very little but most likely no cost. Ok guys... lemme have it!

I know one thing for sure, on downdetector.com there have been major issues with servers and wireless providers for about a week now all over the place. -

PS: Just noticed you are in/from Florala. Destin/FWB native here! I noticed the other day you were in GA and started to ask you about it. If you ever fly in here at KOJ4 you will fly right over my house! But watch out for the Heli's and V22's! Its a fuel stop for Army and Navy/Marines training. The BBQ is very popular when they have it as well! Still playing around with the settings on the new monitor with the under performance video card. Planning on posting when I've exhausted all settings to somewhat satisfy me. Bottom line is you guys were right...LOL -

I went and subscribed to Xbox game pass ultimate since my wife and I love to play online games together. Now I'm saving microsoft reward points and will get the ultimate at no cost to me. I just hope I can get them to send the disc version instead of digital. As we all know, they have been a shady company from the start! -

Kinda makes me wonder if the firmware has some kind of heat protection to preserve the GPU. Are you using a liquid cooler on your card 69NT? If so there goes my theory. -

Seems to be down here to in my area. Will not sync at all. Xbox live is up and syncing fine on RDO so maybe its the MSFS server??? -
Bummer.. for me not you! I can't spend anymore! Congrats on the new card! I can't say anything about cost of anything now! I have spent a literal bundle of cash in the last 2 months. Do you think a married man like myself can spend this kind of money without spending on the wife as well?... You know how it is I'm sure.. "What about me??? What have you done for me lately???"
-
Yes, this machine (according to BIOS settings) will allow to run one on the built in graphics. but is limited to 1 Gb from shared memory. I can play around and see what happens. I do believe I was on a thread about you and another guys VR. I am intrigued to say the least and I do know this card supports it. seems like the VR wouldn't kill me as much on quality, am I correct on that assumption? Sorry, I kinda overlooked this post earlier somehow...

Wow bro, I do not know how this happened but the link to the monitor I never even looked at! This is the one I ordered and will be getting hopefully tomorrow... https://www.dell.com/en-us/member/shop/dell-32-curved-gaming-monitor-s3222dgm/apd/210-azzr/monitors-monitor-accessories I gotta go edit that link! This one is 16X9 2560X1440 curved monitor.

Speaking of hardware, you having that Dell will definitely need to address the issue of upgrading your power supply to take on a more updated and powerful GPU. And that means a bigger case which can handle a full ATX spec PSU for the PCIe cables needed for today's more powerful GPUs. I kinda saw this one coming. I have already put some thought into it and figure next year on a new build. If I'm satisfied with the performance of this CPU even though its not the K edition I'll have this, RAM (add more as well) and this rather small SSD I added (256Mb) for OS. that I can cannibalize. If not I'll research and build once again. Or if I'm feeling lazy get a kick @ss Alienware. I can see this evolving. I have optimism regarding 6 - 8 months down the road actually. I know things look pretty bad right now but believe there will be a rapid change in the very near future. But now the lawn care thing is dying down I'll settle for a bit on what I have. I sure do appreciate that link! That adapter just might do the trick if I do need to upgrade the PWS. Its only metal, after years of sheet metal (structural maintenance) I think I can fashion a suitable mod if need be. I do have some older Dell cases laying around in the garage as well so a Frankenstein machine might be an interesting challenge to say the least. What's that old saying? Necessity is the father of invention? You wouldn't believe the tools and bucking bars I had to fashion for those old 727's and 737's back in the day. LOL, Not to mention the 1 wrench I crafted out for a G3. I ended up selling a couple of those. If I can get my hands on a 1080TI I think I will be Ok. If not, This card is capable of VR I think.

I reckon I'll just have to suffer a bit... If it's to unbearable I can still just use the 21" for now, I sure hope that isn't the case. Luckily for right now I'm still in "training" as its been a while (10 yrs) so I'm having to relearn a lot of stuff. Funny how I dumped the knowledge by not using it. It's not like playing music, I can rely on muscle memory for that in a lot of ways. But in this case it's like forgetting the entire song library!
