  1. Its not just MSFS, All kinds of issues with MS today on Xbox live as well.
  2. Gonna be next month before I can do it, just had both grandbabies Bday's and well, I spoil em! I'm sure I'm not alone on that field! I can actually run ultra all the way right now without any skipping or anomalies right now as is. To me I didn't think it would do it but was pleasantly surprised as I flew past mount everest in stunning detail. I think if I use this 21" HP on the onboard for CP panel it might allow more on the card??? Any idea, anybody??? If I remember right, you could do that on the old FSX before I walked away 10 yrs or so ago... Either way Kwatt, a juicy new card is in my future down the road!
  3. I was eyeballing 43" 4K TV's but found this one on sale, plus I do have a Dell account. I didn't realize the 1080 TI had that much RAM in it! If push comes to shove I probably can snatch one on Ebay or something if price and availability doesn't turn around. Though the years I've watched prices go up and down and right now i think they are peaked once again. I remember back when I was first starting out that RAM was like $100 a Mb. a 512 Mb HD was inconceivable and we had a 512 Kb barrier to where I had to do some editing in config sys and autoexec.batch just to run Falcon 4.0... errmm I think I just dated myself in a very ancient way!
  4. I'm running high/ultra, figured I would have to scale back a little. when the price/availability comes down I'll splurge on a new graphics card. Until then the Radeon 4 GB will have to do. I through in another throttle quad and Logitech Saitek Flight Multi Panel - Flight simulator instrument panel for good measure. This is almost an expensive hobby as playing guitar, bass and drums! Edit: I'm currenty running 1600x900... so yeah... its going to work somewhat harder but won't freesync make up some of the difference?
  5. I can afford it, do you guys think it may be worth it? https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-34-curved-monitor-s3422dw/apd/210-axns/monitors-monitor-accessories
  6. This is why I have always loved this forum. I would have NEVER thought or known to do this. I have read a lot before I ever posted upon my return. Tidbits like this is why I have very few problems, so far I have yet to have any {knocking on wood}.
  7. certainly nothing to be ashamed of! I', in the vision of what I want and the reality of what I can afford. the grandbabies Bday wish list was fulfilled today so... no toys for pop pop!
  8. Just filled the grandbabies birthday wishlist, pop pop will be waiting a little bit longer
  9. Are you the guy with the youtube channel that has the very realistic mock up? that thing is B!tchin if you are!!!
  10. I don't have the Bravo yet, but it is in my future. However I have noticed in my update manager the AFC Bridge file update. I can select it all I want but it never gives an option for DL. I thought it might be a scenery file so now I know its not. Kinda glad I can't update it now. One thing I learned through they eyars is if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
  11. I haven't heard of nwanerka. Could you provide a link to it, please so I can check it out, please? He is another user on this forum. He has all the logitech gauges, stacks and AP set up like a real cockpit. He showed the pics on one of my post here VR will be way down the road, I'm starting of like a newb and reacquiring things as I can afford them.
  12. Congrats and glad for ya guy! I have a few questions for ya if you don't mind. How hard is it to use VR and not being able to interact with the rest of the hardware? Isn't it difficult not to use what your eyes see, but your hardware is controlling it? I would be all over the place! I get aggravated every time I have to interact with the mouse in the cockpit as I'm just starting to build up the HW. Now nwanerka has a setup I could really dig. As I'm all about the old school gauges and stuff. The visual appeal and seeing where your looking would be awesome for an up side. I checked out some VR in its infancy and it was impressive but the horsepower didn't seem to back it up yet. I'm sure its really smooth and perfected by now. Happy landings!
  13. I'm going to take a guess and say that when you plugged it back in BIOS turned RAID on or off or changed the RAID configuration.
  14. A good machine is required, and as pointed out the GFX card will be the biggest investment at this point. I had to settle for what was available and affordable to me. As we all know "this to shall pass" and I can upgrade later. I will say with what I have it runs smoothly and I have a few settings bumped up to ultra. Your peripherals will be costly as well but my HC alpha was worth every dime!
  15. ROFL... you are correct sir, I learned and started building in the very earl 90's. Matter of fact DR DOS (Digital Research) was far superior to MS. Thanx for calling that to my attention!
  16. Glad I went with gamepass ultimate, I'll be buying the deluxe premium before long.
  17. I"m on PC, I can't see dropping the coin for a new and improved Xbox. I got the X1X right after release and had to be a second for my wife. she's on her 2nd X1X now and mine still keeps on going. I got off lucky on the PC. All I had to get her was a much cheaper laptop. Hence why I dont have the awesome setup you have, or at least more of getting there. I do have a throttle coming to get me by until I can scrape up enough for the HC Bravo.. I bailed whe P3d came out and bought a Harley. I didn't realize how expensive that was to become. Turns out I can change the oil in my GMC Truck cheaper than I can the bike.
  18. Yeah, thats true. I'm in the same dilemma. I'm using Gamepass ultimate since I got this PC for this sim but I also have other interest like racing and other games.
  19. I noticed most of the aircraft are glass cockpit in the GA aircraft on the standard edition. I checked out the Coronado 182T as well and they all seem to be mostly glass cockpits. Is there a war on old school make you scan and think while flying? If I want the old school 172 I have to get the premium deluxe. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against technology. Am I alone in this? Does anyone know of any plans for payware/freeware for say 182 or 208 old school style? Has anybody tried the freeware 172 FS9/FSX conversion? Is it worth installing? Thanx...
  20. I'm dying to get one! Problem is I bought the video card, mem, HC alpha and rudder pedals (be here on tomorrow hopefully) and it cost a few bucks... I'll have to settle for the $80 throttle for a bit and recoup from the spending spree... But as my sig says, perpetual growth from here! I know they are there, sporty's has them as well. Trust me, I'm drooling!
  21. nooooo... I'm talking about the drivers for your flightstick... my thinking is perhaps there are updated drivers for msfs. The reason I would do the procedure I laid out is to ensure that the drivers aren't corrupted and are a fresh install. If it were MSFS there would be a lot more post on the issue.
  22. Glad mine is still there! Its what I'm using to knock the rust off and get my yoke sensitivity where it should be.
  23. If another USB port doesn't fix the issue, my next step would be going to the website and downloading, not installing the drivers. After the download I would then go to device manager and uninstall the driver AND device. unplug the device and reboot. after rebooting I would install the drivers from the downloaded file and reboot once again. Then I would plug it in, let the drivers install and try it out. As chicagrandy stated another USB port would be my first to do. Hope this helps and good luck!
  24. I'm so rusty after many years of not simming that I am finding myself in "training" to get back some flying chops. After a few flights and very disappointing results I had to ask myself Have you ever flown a flight sim???" Answer is yes, including those at ATL to qualify for taxi for certain airlines (retired mechanic). After a few more rounds and adjusting the sensitivity I have got it just about where it needs to be. Is this normal with the HC Alpha? I don't remember the logitech back in the day being this touchy, for lack of a better word. I ordered logitech pro rudder pedals and they will be here friday, am I going to have the same issue? Also, the trim switches on the alpha are really touchy. I have found no way to adjust them as they are just switches. Anyone know any tricks there? I want the HC bravo as it has a trim wheel on it but I may just get a trim wheel to get by until i'm able to grab one. Any help is much appreciated! thanx!
