For some unknown reason (to me, at least), Ground Services have become unavailable...After taxiing to the gate (KSFO, for example) I click on GS, but no matter which service I request it is always "unavailable."...Same story at every airport...I checked the Options menu and Menu Animations is "On." (in case it affects GS)...Does anyone know a way I can get GS back in operation? It's always functioned properly, until now... Also, I've been successfully using the "LVFR AREX-na" add-on (which dresses-up the vehicles) for quite awhile, but removing it from the Community folder doesn't bring back the trucks and equipment... Thanks DavidC2--I gave "Shift-R Num+/-" a trial this morning and I believe it picked-up the pace for my Alaska air ILS approach into KORD...The marker beacons sounded and overall it was a proper approach...Good suggestion...As for the "Shift-Z STATS" program, I'm still working on that; but, it sounds promising...Thanks again for taking the time to help...   5. Many of my ILS approaches seem to be at a crawl-like "walking speed"... I tap the "R" key once, twice--nothing happens--still crawling along toward the runway. This is what occurs about 80% of the time...If I tap it several times the rate may increase so much the landing aircraft is out of control at mock .75...I just wish the sim rate increase in MSFS was as easy to make happen as it is in FSX. But, I can't get that to happen... Has anyone else found this to be true, and is there another way to get MSFS' sim rate to operate properly?...Thanks in advance for all suggestions...   6. I've noticed this, too. Num/ doesn't lower the speed brake anymore on 787 aircraft. I have to go to the Ctrl-4 screen and use the mouse...However, Num/ does raise it...Half success, I guess, better than none... Headline from MS FLIGHT SIMULATOR FORUMS: "Wings Are Now Pink, Since su5" The reason?--Asobo added some new lines of code in su5 that "re-painted" many AC livery wings pink...And, not just wings...Aircraft seats and other plane parts were included in the make-over...Bottom line seems to be that Asobo assumes no responsibility for their actions and has no intention of making corrections or adjustments; even if payware is damaged... Fortunately, I have been able to replace 6 pink Community aircraft so far; with corrected replacements. And, flightsim.to is making additional replacement livery aircraft available, as their mod makers upload them...I have to say it: My MSFS skies are friendly, once again!...   10. Does anyone know of a way to exchange the PINK wings I'm getting on some Community folder aircraft, with the actual airline-painted wings the plane is supposed to have? These planes are flyable and okay otherwise--just a BIT distracting when seen in flight!...Not all AC are like this, but many, and I don't know how to make them all normal...Can you help me?...Many thanks for trying...   11. For Kelvinr and anyone else who will take the time to help me get Community folder mods to properly appear in in MSFS... This is what I have done (Please point out any mistakes, or a way of doing it better.): 1 Enter mod name in Community folder (C:\Users\Lee\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community). 2. In MSFS, open the Hangar and click on "Liveries." All available aircraft/livery show in small individual windows across the bottom of the screen. I put 8 aircraft mods in the Community folder (All are listed as "Installed" / "Community" by Content Manager). But, of those, only 6 separate images appear on the Hangar screen. They seem complete and available for use... However, something strange has happened to 4 of those aircraft. If you choose one them to show full-size in the Hangar, you will see they have wings that are painted with PINK blocks (did they form properly?) They can be selected and flown in MSFS; but, not likely what United, Southwest, TWA, or Lufthansa had in mind when they announced their latest paint schemes... I get almost all of my liveries from flightsim.to (a great source). In MSFS v1.17.13.0, all performed as expected--no problems...Not the case (at least for me) in v1.18.14.0... I have downloaded different liveries of the same aircraft--same outcome...I did get successful planes for PanAm and a nice-looking American Airlines B787 chrome model that have properly appeared and been usable in MSFS... I hope someone can suggest a way for me to get my Community folder to function as intended...All help is very much appreciated... Lee Graves

Most all of my airplane mods are downloads from that great source. If so, here goes... 1.) 787-livery-PANAM 2.) aaMasih Boeing 787 Southwest 3.) Asobo_b787_Norwegian 4.) Asobo_b787_QuantasMardiGras 5.) livery-b787-baw 6.) TheMaharaja_livery-B787-108K_RJA 7.) 787-livery-Delta 8.) B787-10 Delta Airlines 9.) B787-American Airlines chromed 10.) livery-b787-United Dreamliner 11.) aaMasih Boeing 787 LUFTHANSA 12.) 787-10-TWA These are some of the mod titles (exact wording) I have placed in my Community folder. Content Manager says some are "Installed / Community" and others "Not Installed / Community." However, only 2 have been made available and can be flown in MSFS. (I don't have a clue why this happened. One day when I was checking the "Hangar," I clicked on Liveries" and there they were, pictured and available!) I wasn't sure how to "...can you send me through a link to the mods...and I'll take a look at them for you," so I hope the list above gives you access to the details you need...Let me know if you need something else...   13. Thanks JohnnyJohnJohn and Kelvinr for the comebacks... My pattern for getting new mods into MSFS has always been: 1. Download mod (mostly from flightsim.to), 2. Open zip (if necessary), and 3. Install first file (mod title) into the Community folder. This routine produced a new mod in MSFS for me just about evey try (90+%)...This was true through MSFS v1.17.13.0...But, not now, in v1.18.14.0 (at least, not for me)...After activating a flight plan, I would click on the aircraft photo (upper left corner) and be taken to Content Manager, which would show me all available aircraft and liveries, including the one I just entered in the Community folder... That's all changed now, in v1.18.14.0...Following the 3 steps above (and, I've unsuccessfully tried others), Content Manager says any new mods are either "Not Installed" / "Community," or, "Installed" / "Community."..I don't know why one has been installed and not another... Anyway, bottom line is, I have NO add-on mods to choose from in MSFS. My only choices are what's in the Official file...Which is okay, I suppose, but I have some favorite planes, etc., which I would very much like to use in MSFS...And, shouldn't I be able to?... So, what I would very much like Forum users to tell me is: Are you able to activate mods through the Community folder; and, how do you do it?... Again, all help is appreciated...   14. Apologies for a bit too much enthusiasm in my last "MSFS Installation Problem" post...I blame it on relief, after 10+ days of wrestling with MSFS... Now, after using the program for awhile, I've found I'm missing something that has always been there. Eleven Community folder mods do not appear when "Liveries" is clicked on in Content Manager. The latter shows the 11 as "Installed," but, they do not appear... Has anyone else had this happen, and does anyone know how to get the mods back on the screen and in the game?..About the only advice I can find basically says, "Put add-on mods in the Community file and, when selected, they will appear in MSFS."...Unfortunately, I can't get them to do so...Can anyone offer a way to help me get them back?...Thanks for taking the time to help...   15. barn1220--I am finally back in the MSFS skies (Christmas, for me, came early this year!), after a lot of Forum help and a Windows 10 program I should have used after my first CTD. That program is System Restore... I would suggest you use it to re-start Windows a day or so before you had a problem; hopefully, when everything was working properly...That's what I ultimately did--and it worked!...You don't want to wait too long, because the re-start dates keep moving forward, staying reasoably close to the current one...My MSFS re-start version was 1.17.13.0, so I had to update it some 127+ GB to bring it up to 1.18.14.0. As soon as I re-started MSFS, I was ask to download a needed update; which I gladly did...It took about 12 hours (later, I did it again!); but, time well-spent (lol)...   16. Thanks Steve, for getting back to me. My problem continues to be not being able to download and install either MSFS Standard or Digital Ownership programs. When I try, a progress line appears and the word "Downloading" shows above it. A few seconds after clicking to start the DL, it stops and "Error" appears. Clicking on that produces the 0x80070424 error...Removing this is my biggest obstacle to getting the programs on my ComputerA. I have tried many, many suggested ways on the web to get rid of that error; with little success, Once, long ago, for some reason I do not know, downloading actually began and completed!--first for one and then the other program. When started, however, MSFS would not continue through the "black screen" to actually begin the 90GB(?) installation. I tried repeatedly and could not, despite a lot of different ways, get past the black screen... I mistakenly believed I had permanently removed the error, and followed one "expert's" advice to "do a clean uninstall and re-install." Big mistake, I guess. Once again, 0x80070424 showed-up and has continued to do so ever since...The fact remains, however, I should be able to DL and install the programs whenever I want to--they're paid for and other buyers do it at will...What do you think?... Apparently, no one on the Forum seems to have a solution and I regret taking up so much space and time here...I haven't given up; just discouraged I can't enjoy MSFS, like everyone else...   19. Yesterday, according to the Store, I installed and updated MSFS Standard (v1.8.13.0) and digital Ownership (v1.0.1.0). The Store did not put me through the usual installation (90 GB?) marathon. In fact, I was hardly aware the 2 programs had installed, until I checked "my library." It said both were installed and upgraded to the versions above. Are those, in fact, the correct new updated numbers? The only new MSFS additions to my ComputerA I can find are the C:\Users\Lee\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe file (16KB) and the Digital Ownereship file (16KB). Is 1.8.30.0 the current MSFS version (including the latest update?)... When I checked, the used space of my local drive C (1 TB SSD) was about the same as it has been for days (I can't remember the earlier number, exactly). No big GB increase. When the original program began crashing (during the "black screen" start-up) and I uninstalled it, my MSFS files on drive C were seemingly untouched (MSFS Games\Community; IVAO; Official) (166GB). They remain there... So, I'm excited to start MSFS again. But, it's like a re-play of 2 weeks ago: Loading to the "black screen" and then it crashes!...The Task Manager showed the MSFS gpu drawing 90+% of capacity (like it always did in the past) and then quickly dropping to 0% as the program failed...After all the effort, I seem to be back where I started...Very close to getting MSFS to continue loading, before it crashes... The mystery is, what's stopping it from completely loading?...And, where are the MSFS files kept that started the program? The Store did not seem to have downloaded them to my computer, as the original installation did...Were these retained, hidden on my computer? Are they being drawn from Cloud?... I apologize again, for drawing out this thread. But, I'm determined to get myself and all MSFS buyers with a similar problem back in the simulation skies--if it's possible... I hope Steve, The Plainsman, and others can help us...All suggestions and ideas welcomed and appreciated.... Lee Graves
  20. Thanks Steve. for the link. The advice worked for about 3/4 of those responding, afterwards; but, regrettably, not for me...Also, thanks to Disneyflyer for his posts. Were you able to fully download, install and run MSFS? I have visited a dozen or more web sites that said they could help visitors remove error code 0x80070424. I tried their suggestions (except those I thought might make things worse). None succeeded..I'm more convinced than ever that the problem is on the MS Store end, rather than the players. I hope Microsoft people read these posts and determine exactly where the error is occurring and get it corrected for all the MSFS buyers who should be able to re-install when necessary. I also hope this problem doesn't get lost in the XBox frenzy; assuming MSFS on XBox is released tomorrow, as long announced... All suggestions and idea always welcomed...Thanks in advance for all help...   21. Thanks Steve. confirming the need to download and install Digital Ownership. I keep trying to install that and MSFS Standard version, but continue to be blocked by the Store. I sent another Error Report, saying my Win 10 was up-to-date and my computer system already approved. I don't know what else to do... I also called the Store (and MS) support phone number, but they do not seem to be allowing any "live" conversations with technicians--go to the web, they say... No one on the Forum has said they have tried lately to install MSFS. I don't know if the Store is installing now, or not. Are other players being turned away? Or, am I the only one? Anyway, I hate to see this thread drift away from lack of replies. I'm still hoping some MS people will read it and fix things so myself and those with the same problem get some help...   22. Thanks Plainsman--I checked and my Win 10 is up-to-date... When asked, I also added several optional updates; all of which failed to satisfy the Store... The routine, after I click to "Retry installation of MSFS," is for the Store to indicate they are "Downloading," and then about 5 seconds later, say across the progress line (which never shows any progress), "Error - See details." Clicking that message produces the following: "Something Unexpected Happened" and the "0x80070424" error code. Also, a suggestion to either file an Error Report, or "wait a bit and try again." I've done both, quite a few times!... I wish you would tell me what you make of all this? And, thanks again for helping... Lee Graves

Yes, I am trying to download and install the MSFS standard version...In checking the other forums, I found a poster who said the MS Store required him to install Digital Ownership before they would let him install MSFS. I've tried doing that, but was rejected, just like with MSFS. Do you think it's wise to try to continue trying the install both programs? ... I'm being rejected for installation, with (error) "Code 0x80070424" being cited as a reason...I have submitted a number of "user problem" reports with the Store (MS?). The report forms all started with "Code 0x80070424," given by the Store... Any additional suggestions and ideas are always welcomed...Thanks in advance for all help... Lee Graves
  24. Still trying to download and install MSFS, and the MS Store is still refusing to let me do it. This, despite the fact they acknowledge I am a verified MSFS Premium Deluxe owner and my designated computer and Local Drive C (32 GB memory and 1 TB SSD) is rated by the Store as "Status OK." I apologize if some feel I am "beating this issue to death." I just hope some MS people who can help me (and other MSFS buyers like me, who are experiencing a similar disappointment) will read this thread and make it possible for us to start enjoying the program again... I still wonder if I am the only one unable to download and reinstall the program. Has anyone on the Forum been able to reinstall MSFS recently?...I hate to think I'm MS's lone victim (LOL, kinda)... You are right Steve, about the complexity of trying to uninstall and reinstall the MS Store...I think for the time being, about all I can do is be patient and hope Microsoft can get the Store back to providing downloading and installation services to verified MSFS owners.
