  1. Hello to you. My problem was being to inpatient and not reading the voz1.80 instructions carefully. Because I couldn't get Voz to work in every region of Australia I uninstalled it...this was a bad idea, because I didn't UNVOZ (as you mentioned) before I unin. This meant that all my default textures were replaced worldwide by Voz textures in both of my Fs9 installations, and with no easy way of getting my default textures back. But!!!..the good news...I remembered I had a third Fs9 backup on an old external drive ,I set about copying and pasting that over my Vozed installation and all was fine again with my default textures. These posts I have been making about Voz 1.80 are not in anyway a criticism of the add-on ,but my stupidity in not reading the installation instructions correctly. I still have the package on my PC and may have another go sometime . Cheers Andy
  2. Hello Chaps thanks for your replies. The reason i asked about the naming of the two installations of Fs9 was because they both were named Fs9.... C:Fs9 and F:Fs9 I though because they both had the same name, (barring the disc drive name C and F) I thought that may account in some way for them both seeming to be in 'communication . I will give you an example I have used FS global for many years (it enhances the default scenery worldwide. If I run either C or F fs9, FS global displays in both as normal ,even though it was only installed in C:fs9 ,If I alter the name of C:fs9 and then run F: Fs9 It starts but this time displays error messages that the FS global areas are missing, so it looks like F:fs9 does use the C:Fs9 FSglobal textures . Anyway the reason I am asking is because the other day I thought I would give VOZ1.80 a go but !! I didn't read the installation instructions carefully (stupid I know)this resulted in much gnashing and wailing of teeth. When you use voz you have to select an area of Australia you want to fly in ,there are about five or six choices ie Northern territories ,central Australia etc when you have decided on your selection you hit something called the VOZ button and that will switch off the default textures(temporarily) and load the VOZ textures appropriate to your region of Australia. What actually happens is those textures will change worldwide ,but as you are in Aus it wont affect you.. BUT! when you finish your flight in Aus you have to use select the option UNVOS which will switch your default textures back on. If you don't do this then on your next flight you will have Australian textures no matter were you are in the world .Its not a problem as you would only have to restart VOZ 1.80 and again select to UNVOZ and your default world textures would return. The big mistake i made was to uninstall Voz 1.80 before i had UNVOZED (changed back to my default textures) ,so next time i started my sim for a flight i had these VOZ textures world wide (on both C:Fs9 and F:fs9) and with no easy way that i knew of to restore my defaults. A bit of luck!!!! I suddenly remembered i had another backup of FS9 on an old external disc drive and was able to copy and paste it over C:Fs9 and voila my textures were restored as normal. Anyway enough of these rambles ,but that is why i was asking if two separate installations Fs9 could somehow interact ,interfere with each other . It seems they can! Cheers Andy
  3. Thanks Robin I have sorted the problem out and normal splashscreen is back. I don't what the instructor thing was ,but i did find that Fs9 would launch with that splashscreen ,but joystick mouse extra would not function, guessing that instructor would be controlling things . Have had a lot of problems trying to install voz180 correctly, the issue was not with the addon ,but my own stupidity in not reading the installation procedures correctly. Thanks Andy PS only four hours sleep ,up at 4.30 am trying to sort out the mess. i now seem to be getting somewhere.
  4. I have two copies of FS9 installed one in the C drive and another on an external Samsung ssd F: (C Drive is also an ssd) Both are titled FS9. IE c:fs9 F:fs9 I was wondering if its correct to label both Fs9. I ask because I tried to install VOZ 1.80 yesterday and I noticed that although I installed it to C: elements of VOZ also appeared in F: I didn't want that ,caused real problems Hope this makes some sense. cheers Andy
  5. hello all Don't ask me how ,but I have inadvertently messed up my default world textures trying to install VOZ180. Can any body tell me which folders I need to regain my original seasonal world textures from a reinstall of FS9? I cant use my FS9 backup as that has also lost its original textures as well. If somebody in the know about these things can help it would be much appreciated. I would just like the original fs9 textures restored. If you are thinking about installing VOZ180 READ THE INSTRUCTIONS carefully . I did not ,hence the mess I am in. cheers Andy
  6. Hello All RE voz 180 As i suspected i have had some problems getting this download to work. Initial thoughts that the program had a real quality look to its menus and various selection screens etc (more like a payware offering) BUT! i simply could not get it to run correctly. Although this offering covers the whole of Aus this is split into the various regions of the continent ,and only one of these can be selected at a time. I selected the hot interior (Fascinating red like Mars) .This selection did work and I was duly presented with Mars...Great, but unfortunately trying the other regions resulted in crashes. I decided to uninstall for the moment ,but I will go back and try again sometime as the installation instructions were quite long and detailed ,and as usual with me in these cases I just waded in without reading them to closely ,so its a fair chance that it was my impatience that resulted in the crashes I mentioned. Thanks Andy
  7. No I didn't think so . Any ideas on how I can retrieve the original. I have looked in the Uires folder but its not there ,only a similar one with Instructor station bottom right (which now displays at startup) Thanks Andy
  8. Hello All Does the original FS9 splashscreen have the words "Instructor station " bottom right . I am sure it didn't but maybe going a bit bonkers. Andy
  9. Hello Piet. VOZ 180 is a complete texture update for the whole of the Australian continent. It also includes airport upgrades as well. This apparently is the last VOZ version ,and it comes as one large package and installer. VOZ has always enjoyed good reviews ,so I thought I would give it a go. Cheers Andy
  10. Hello Zip The reason the download is slow is because iam not a premium member at FScom. As a basic member ,you are restricted to a slower download speeds (which is fair enough) Anyway I hope you are progressing in the new PC department ,as I see you have no simulator installed at this time. Which ever sim you are going with. ENJOY.... Cheers Andy
  11. Hello All Iam in the process of downloading VOZ 180. This package now comes as one complete item (Its a Biggy 599mb) It does have excellent reviews, but would prefer to hear from the horses mouth (You fellows) your thoughts on this addon if you have it installed. Any problems with windows 10 compatibility or other issues i should take note off ? Fs9 has run so well for so long now i do not wish cause problems that would result in huge amounts of steam from ears , and swearing to horrible too contemplate. Thanks a lot Andy. Idiot! I just got within an hour of a completed download ,decided to pause it close the browser (I am sure i did this before with no problems ) and continue later, but have lost the whole bloody thing.....Magma is rising in the chamber.. Am going to have start from scratch tomorrow and leave the browser open . Hells Bananas Andy
  12. Hello Pat Now that quite interesting I use FSrealWX Pro v2 this is definitely freeware and works well (used it for ages) I tried FsrealWX 3 and this version (at least in my case definitely only allowed thirty goes and then would end I just thought if the OP tried FSrealWX Pro v2 he might have a bit more joy getting that to run (he was having difficulties with FsrealWX 3. I think these various versions maybe causing a little confusion all round. PS FSrealWX Pro v2 is very simple to set up and use.(The OP was having difficulties with his version of choice ) Cheers to you Pat.
  13. Hello Dirk The version of FSrealwx you are running(FsrealWX 3) is I believe payware ,and you are limited to thirty sessions before you have to purchase it. What you should do (assuming you don't want to buy it)is go to the FSrealWX website and if your not already, set up an account. When you have done that go to the downloads section select the 'archive option' which will bring up the option FsrealWX lite, click on that and you will see the option FSrealWX Pro v2 this is a Freeware version (which I use) it is very easy to set up and use ,and maybe what you are after. Cheers Andrew
  14. Hello Jsmr If all else fails, you may like to try this. I use a freeware program called fuel loader, it has many options for the refueling of aircraft. I believe it offers real time refueling ,half real time etc (can't quite remember exactly but can check if your interested. I personally use the instant option which it also offers. PS I think the program may have originated in your part of the world. Not sure if it's available here, but it was available there Av... Cheers Andy
  15. Thank you Robin. If and when I have to move/create another Fs9 copy I will try your way rather than my rather chaotic method of doing things.:) Cheers Andrew
  16. Hello Robin I have used the copy and paste method for moving Fs9 to different drives, but my method is usually of the swear and curse variety until I usually get it sorted. I have noted your posts concerning multiple copies of Fs9 . I would like to do it your seemingly effortless way ,rather than my turn blue and swear a lot method. Just a quote from your post . . "Copy Flight Simulator Files from My Documents to the portable drive 4. Copy the fs9.cfg to the portable drive" Which location on the portable drive. Thanks Andrew
  17. Hello D Thanks for your suggestion , but I simply cannot justify the cost of another pc at this time. Its it's not just the cost either ,my living room is full of 'cutting edge' technology ,cutting edge meaning a large PC ,three monitors ,television ,pc add-ons ,stereo etc etc all this stuff comes with the best bits of cutting edge technology of all wires ,cables plugs. Also deserving a mention aerials ,heaters for winter ,fans for summer ,all this electronic spaghetti has to be tiptoed around just to avoid trip-ups and possible serious :) injury, particularly as I do like to partake of ale upon a flight?. I will see how the new SIM is received in the months after its release . If it works on XBox I may even consider that option .I can add new XBox cables plugs , peripherals to my collection too.....JOY! Cheers Andrew
  18. Hello Mark I am not thinking of updating W10 in the hope of improving Fs9 performance. I can't see how its performance COULD be improved in any way on my PC anyway. It performs wonderfully well. Iam thinking ahead to the new FS flight simulator though, and I suspect? it may require the latest updated version of W10 to run. Anyway all that is for the future. When the new sim is released I certainly will not be rushing out to buy it until I see exactly how its performing in the months after its release. I suspect in my case anyway its gong to be yet another case of not enough horsepower in my present setup ,however! I am not too bothered at present as Fs9 is a joy to use , gives me great satisfaction ,is smooth in performance and is completely reliable day in day out. Cheers Andy
  19. Apologies for double post. Not sure what happened there. Andy
  20. Hello Guys Thanks for your replies. I have a strange relationship with updates. I swear that when my pc and sim are running smoothly ,trouble free ,reliably I will definitely NOT update anything NO Sir.! But as soon as I see there is a new Gcard update from Nvidea for instance I download it of course. Fortunately I have had no problems doing this (The Nvidea installer makes this a very simple and reliable process) Windows 10 is a different kettle of Bananas I have been badly bitten in the past with some horrible update nightmares despite this the little voice in my head keeps urging me ' update update me go on you know you might be missing out on that little extra performance from the sim, that little bit of extra something ,a bit bit more general wahoo all round. I think all this updating concern may be because my thoughts are turning to the new SIM and its probable need for most up-to-date version of 10. Anyway at the moment (probably fortunately ) I don't have enough space on my internal SSD so I can't update anyway . I thank you both for replies . My current set up ain't broke and I can't break it even if that voice in my head keeps nagging me to dare to try?í ½í¹‚ Cheers Andrew PS I doubt the performance of FS9 (my Fs9 ) coule be improved anyway. Its ultra reliable ,ultra fun ,it just works
  21. Hello All I think I might??? have the answer to my question. I currently have windows 10 version 1809. You cant update to the latest version 1909 without having version 1903 (I think that's the number) installed . I am guessing that the reason my downloaded version 1909 is showing as 90GB may? be because it also includes the 1903 update as well. Anyway that means I don't have enough space (75GB)on my C Drive . Anyway 2. If it ain't broke etc If anyone does have anything to add then fire away . I could be wrong (I usually am) Cheers Andy
  22. Hello All I have an internal SSD drive which fs9 is installed on. This drive has 75GB available space left. I use a program called windows update manger (freeware)this programme effectively gives you back control of which updates you will or wont install....very useful.(as you used to get as the norm in earlier versions of Windows) I currently have the feature update 1909 downloaded ,but have elected to 'hide' (not install )it for the moment . I notice that this update is showing in Windows update manager as 90gb in size. As I only have 75gb remaining on my Cdrive there is not enough space.... I decided out of curiosity to try and find out(internet search) how much disc space 1909 requires ,and apparently its about 30gb (in which case I would have enough space on my Cdrive(75GB left). Iam wondering why the1909 download in Windows update manager is showing as 90GB. PS posted here as software bit of forum seems a bit out of date and thought more of chance getting query answered here. Cheers Andy
  23. Thanks Darren I do have fs lite as well. I will give that a try again. I have noticed with the lite version that some Airport codes are missing . Thanks Andrew
  24. Hello Zip I also tried using the weather downloads from within the sim itself (as you describe)when they were available, but I found that just like FSRealWX I was also thrown around the sky at regular intervals. I used active sky 6.5 (I think it was that version) for a long time and had no problems with that ,but it's no longer available or supported. As Tiger mentioned in his post it seems that the payware version of Fsuipc may be the only solution to being thrown about in this orrible manner. I tried for ever and a half to get FS metar to work to give that a try ,but no joy. Maybe I'll have to PAY for a new weather program ....PAY that pains me Sir🙂 Thanks for your thoughts guys. I could of course select a weather theme (of which I have many, but it's not the same as the weather is predictable) Andy
  25. Hello All I have been using FSRealWX weather Pro and also 3 for sometime. My question to fellow users have you noticed wild wind direction changes that result in the plane your flying being shoved around the sky in a most unsettling and increasingly irritating manner. I know that turbulence is a part of flying, but surely not every flight and this extreme magnitude too. As well as this more often than not during the course of a flight the external wind speed will increase as I approach cruise altitude until reaches 99kts (it will actually be more than this) ,but 99kts seems to be the max that FSRealWX will display. In short! Has anyone here at Fs.com experienced anything similar. PS I also experiance sudden dramatic airspeed changes as well, for instance as an example I may go from m75 to 60 in an instant or vice versa. Cheers Andrew
