  1. They say they've made major updates to the database. Vic
  2. I've been running both now for a few days. All in all, I like what LM has done. There's an overall brightness and smoothness that wasn't there before. Altho I don't care about fps I noticed an improvement in similar situations. Cannot effectively test the effect of weather as HiFi is still working it out. All in all - I rate it a good release. I'm another ex-pilot and I do not consider P3D a "game". To me, a game indicates some sort of contest - whether it's you against the clock or some opponent - I don't see P3D that way. Personally I mainly fly IFR just to keep my skills sharp. Sometimes I take a pure sightseeing trip that I can no longer do IRL - I wouldn't call that entertainment per se but I do enjoy it. Vic
  3. Not correct. HiFi is working to integrate their weather program with V5 and TrueSky. Should be available shortly. Vic
  4. According to LM the new dx12 Prepar3D V5.0 will be released on April 14th. Vic
  5. You ask for help but refuse to give us the info WE need to help you. If you want our help - POST YOUR SPECS as asked or figure it out yourself. I would include your P3D.cfg, DLl.xml and EXE.xml files too please. Vic
  6. The main problem is that the OP seems to think that anything that goes wrong with his flight is LM getting back at him. This isn't the proper place to deal with that kind of paranoia. Ending this one. Vic
  7. It is amazing to me how many times I read in various forums that the new MSFS spells the end of all other flight sims and there will be no new development as users AND developers wait for the new sim. Amazing that anyone really believes this but they keep posting. Developers are still developing and all is moving forward as usual - we just have something new on the horizon but it's just in tech ALPHA folks - not even close to beta - so lets cut down on the panic in the streets please. GPS kills FPS

it's been that way forever. Undocked windows create a big fps hit. No solution other than not undocking them. Vic
  9. Toposim is exceptional and Justin responds quickly to questions, Vic
  10. I have both and love them. I prefer the 35 for short ( Vic
  11. The benches are correct but whether or not it translates as useful really depends on the application. Boot times will be very fast as it's primarily disk reads. As it translates to FlightSim, it's really negligible. The slowdowns in flightsim are usually NOT related to scenery loading or disk reads unless you are talking about a really low end system. So no one's saying they are not faster, just that being faster doesn't guarantee better performance. Vic
  12. You might want to check out cyberpowerpc.com. If you have the skills. your best bet would be to build one yourself but if not - they're a good place to start. Vic
  13. non credo che Simconnect possa essere d'aiuto, ma non causerà problemi in P3D. Ho 4 diverse versioni installate senza problemi. Ciao, Vic
  14. Good reading - http://inspire.eaa.org/2019/09/30/an-inside-look-at-microsofts-newest-flight-simulator/?fbclid=IwAR0dYUMkYaBXH04K2Ua8OopuxV5Ru-SHWBewVEzcqfCKBeLpxdy-hHgXxoc Vic
  15. LOL! How many months do you have for an answer?? Seriously though, just common sense.P3D is not like FSX - you want to tune it for the LOWEST fps you can run and STILL get SMOOTH performance. Higher FPS does not mean smooth performance. For example, on my system I lock my FPS at 20 and I can still have most settings at or near max and it is smooth. Try to set up a repeatable setting that you can test against when you add new things. And, with P3D - deleting the p3d.cfg file is always a good way to reset the sim. Good luck, Vic
  16. Offhand no but I would think the EZCA tech support forum might have the answer. Vic
  17. I agree with Jorgen. That system will work but I fear you won 't really be happy. Sustained CPU speed above 4.5 is a big plus. Vic
  18. There IS a user manual. Actually two, one is the Learning Center and the other is the SDK. If you follow the instructions and delete ONLY the files and folders specified, the core of P3D is still there. You may have to reinstall some addons and restore any changed settings. Using the repair option will restore P3D to it's initial state when you first installed it. Vic
  19. If the sceneries were removed from the library or deleted he wouldn;t get a CTD. His system is corrupt. The simplest way to start is do a repair install as mentioned. You will probably have to reinstall some addons. Bite the bullet - follow Malcott's advice. Also, CRJ_Simpilot is correct - stay away from sleep mode or hibernation if at all possible. It works quite well most of the time but when it doesn't - it's not worth the trouble. Good luck, Vic
  20. I'm still puzzling how the hardware could even cause that. I really doubt that the stick logic can recognize inverted. Does this happen with ALL aircraft? With a few exceptions, most civilian GA will not remain inverted, the wing design makes them want to correct. Military and akro aircraft should be able to maintain inverted flight Vic
  21. delete it. They are stored in the P3d/Modules/Profiles folder. You can edit the profile with notepad and just delete your specific aircraft or the whole profile. if you are talking about the default flight - after load, just set up a new flight and save it as default. not positive what you are asking... Vic
  22. I prefer ASP4 with ASCA for clouds. If you like REX clouds, then you can use them with ASP4 which is still the best weather engine available. Vic
