  16. Taxying behaviour fix for turboprop aircraft

This PDF document demonstrates how to modify turboprop aircraft to taxi in a more realistic manner.

All tests have been made with Flight Simulator 2004, but the changes almost certainly work with Flight Simulator X and probably with later incarnations of Flight Simulator too.

  17. FS2004 Scenery--Ketchikan PAKT In Southern Alaska

FS2004 Scenery--Ketchikan PAKT In Southern Alaska This is Ketchikan PAKT in southern Alaska (AK), USA, 45 miles north of the Canadian border and 220 miles south of Juneau. It is the closest major Alaskan airport to the lower 48 and most flights from or to Seattle pass through Ketchikan en route. The airport is on the southern side of the stretch of water known as The Narrows and the town is on the northern side, with ferries connecting the two. The town is heavily reliant on tourism (from cruise liners) and salmon fishing. The town side was somewhat modified as part of the three Misty Fjords sceneries with marinas and docked cruise liners, and this scenery carries that onward. Ketchikan Airport had been made in 2006, and modified in 2007; I say "made" though there is in fact no way to accurately make PAKT within the limitations of FS9 as there is a 50 or 60 feet difference in elevation between runway and apron, and the taxiways are actually ramps up from the apron to the ends of the runway. This has a knock-on effect on the floatplane and ferry docks on the water below the airport, as when making the glassed-in bridges that make the link it is difficult to achieve anything that appears realistic, with a 120 feet difference in level instead of 30 feet; this remains pending. This scenery retains the original buildings from the Alan Wright scenery and the modification made by John Hinson. There are now apron lights, new vehicles on the apron (fuel etc), new apron markings and some parking modifications to enable AI with Boeing 737, DC6, Beechcraft 1900, GA etc. plus runway and taxiway signage, windsocks, some car parking, freight items, etc. The far side of the water has been modeled to include another floatplane dock along with waterfront buildings, including the ship repair facility with it's dry dock (actually a floating dock that lifts ships out of the water) and the Alaskan Ferry Terminal wharf etc. The ferry forms a part of the AI, generously permitted by FSAddon and originally a part of the payware Tongass Fjords package, as are some of the AI aircraft also included here. 18. FS2004 Scenery--Connellan Airports

FS2004 Scenery--Connellan Airports. Connellan Airways was formed in 1939 (known as Survey and Inland Transport until 1943) and the 1967 schedules show 114 airports and airstrips served by the airline across Northern Territory of Australia and reaching out into Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland too (including two named Springvale many miles apart!). It operated until 1980 when it was sold to East West Airlines. The airport at Ayers Rock, once their headquarters, has been named after the airline. Of those 114 airports and airstrips, very few appear in Flight Simulator or in any add-on. This package seeks to redress the situation with 81 new AFD files, representing new airports plus a couple of default ones enhanced with parking spots. Most of the airstrips remain in use today serving remote cattle stations and townships but satellite data shows a few to now be overgrown and out of use. A few cannot be traced owing to poor quality satellite imagery and have had to be omitted here. All files are based on satellite data including altitude, and therefore work best with a high quality mesh add-on - they will still work with the default landscape but some airstrips may look a little high or low compared with the surrounding area. 19. FSX Scenery--Los Roques Archipelago And Airports

FSX Scenery--Los Roques Archipelago And Airports. This project rebuilds Venezuela's Los Roques archipelago, adds the Gran Roque (SVRS) and Dos Mosquises (SVDM) airports, and includes AI flight plans, boat traffic, and a custom terrain mesh for Gran Roque. Accurate coastlines and lakes, as well as corrected landclass and waterclass are provided based on the latest available satellite imagery. Although current satellite imagery for this region only exists in relatively low resolution, an abundance of aerial photography was used to add custom features to Gran Roque and Dos Mosquises. Updates were created or rebuilt in a manner which carefully aligned airport data with current satellite imagery, when available. Scenery was created using Airport Design Editor X v1. 50. 4402, SBuilderX 3. 13, and the FSX Object Placement Tool. Scenery objects were added and modified from stock FSX scenery to resemble as closely as possible the actual airports. Thank you to John Hinson and Tiago Besciak for granting permission to adapt their AI flight plans to realistically populate (SVRS) Gran Roque. Requires LOS_ROQUES_UPDATE_1.ZIP. By Carlyle Sharpe.

  22. FS2004 AFCAD2 File For DTKA

FS2004 AFCAD2 File For DTKA, Tabarka/7 Novembre, Tunisia. Microsoft's depiction of this airport is remarkably accurate but only facilities for GA traffic exist. In reality, the airport sees Boeing 737 jets of Karthago Airlines as well as smaller craft of the Tunisian domestic airline Sevenair. This file will allow you and your AI traffic to land, taxi, park and take off in a realistic manner. By John Hinson.

  24. FS2004 Scenery--Am-Timan Airport

FS2004 Scenery--Am-Timan Airport (FTTN), Chad. The entire area is very dry and sandy but for some reason it is depicted in Flight Simulator as green and lush. Microsoft have only provided a runway at this airport and this scenery seeks to redress the situation so that you and your AI traffic can use the airport realistically. By John Hinson.
