  1. No expertise here, but would question two things. I don't understand what sounds like you are powering the graphics card from the monitor, or am I misunderstanding? The other thing that comes to mind, is the compatibility between an "old" motherboard and a new graphics card. Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  2. I have used that stick for 2-3 years with no problems whatsoever. It is much more accurate and reliable than 3 previous sticks using potentiometers that became erratic sooner or later. The T16000M uses optical sensors - much better than pots. 3. Very impressive! When is the desert war expansion expected to be published? Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  4. I don't know if this has anything to do with your problem, but I believe you are supposed to start with the Orbx Global Base Pack before installing Vector and Open LC's. Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  5. She looks pregnant! :) Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  6. This is a two hour video, that even I had not the patience to watch through, but its reality is amazing. Go HD and full screen. Each plane is flown by a guy at a computer. The video was produced by the leading Russian flight simulation designer company DCS World. I have had many of their products, but gave up because you have to know as much about flying the jets as the real pilots - too much for an old guy! Hope you enjoy - and skip the commercials! 7. I have had similar situations. If you used a credit card to pay, you can explain and dispute the charge with the bank or credit card issuer, who will then address the seller. In all cases it solved the problems in a few days! 8. Glad to hear I am not alone. I am not a RW pilot (have been flight simming for about 30 years), but I recently bought a great B777 for P3D. It was advertised with super accurate and realistic instrumentation. I could never figure out the autopilot - the manual used 19 pages to explain what it did and why, but I never understood why it was doing things I never asked for and sometimes crashed the plane. Who knows - I may after all not be any more stupid than some RW pilots? :)
  9. Sorry, but I don't understand the problems with WOTR. I have had absolutely no problems with installing and updating or running. Be aware that every official update includes all previous updates, so you only have to run the latest update after installing. Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  10. Great video! Based on my own experiences with helicopters, I say you are doing very well!
  11. Well - Dominic beat me to it! I fly and would recommend the very same sims that he recommends. The IL-2 1946 is still viable, but now somewhat outdated. IL-2 Great Battles series now spans WW2 eastern and western fronts, and now a dip into WW1. I like their series as the graphics are good and the flying is not too complex. It even includes tank battles. If you want even better scenery and realism, you may like the DCS series. I had a lot of that too, but recently gave up as it was becoming more of a study sim - I am getting too lazy for that! Wings over the Reich is an excellent sim, slanted more toward immersion and realism, you may be sent on patrols and never see an enemy, In other words it is realistic. I also like Cliffs of Dover, which has been greatly upgraded, and will soon get a North Africa expansion. I don't think the MSFS 2020 will include combat, and I am not into acro, but you could search Steam's website, as I think I have run across one or two acrobatic sims in their store. Have fun! 12. If you have a fairly current and capable computer, there are a number of excellent sims available for dogfighting in WW1, WW2 and more modern jets.I find current jetfighters leaning towards mainly electronic warfare, which is complicated and - in my personal opinion - less entertaining, so I prefer WW2 sims with some WW1 also. If you will tell a little more about your interests, I can make some recommendations based on what I fly. 11.50 Wow!!!!!

I installed 11.5 in my XP (Steam - no add-ons), and was happy to see improved scenery definition with Vulcan and max graphics settings with 20-30 FPS. However, the pleasure was short, as I started getting warnings of excessive GPU temperature (exceeding 80 Celsius on a GTX 1080 Ti). I have never seen the GPU that hot, in P3D4 with Orbx scenery and Aerosoft FS2 it runs at 50-65 C. XP11 and I still have not had a happy relationship! Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  14. Sorry - I have never seen a commercial "floor stick" advertised, but I would suggest that you state your case on the Cockpit Builders forum page here. Many have built fighter aircraft cockpits using authentic, floor mounted flight sticks.
  15. Looks very good - really adds authenticity to the scenery! Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  16. Looks very promising! I appreciate your updates. Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  17. Sorry - but I don't. Your cuts are much too quick! Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  18. Oops! Sorry about my mistake - your 3-monitor video card load should of course be (1920x 3)x 1080=6,220,800. My 34" 21:9 monitor is 3440x1440=4,953,600 pixels compared to your 2-monitor setup at (1920x2)x1080=4,147,200. I would think that the 2-monitor setup with bezels in the center would be less desirable. Another consideration in monitor choice may be refresh rates, which typically are between 60-144/sec, as I would expect higher refresh rates to increase the video workload. I wish you good luck! Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  19. Your triple monitor setup is seen by your graphics card as a 5760x3240 display load. I use a curved LG 34" 3440x1440 Monitor with a 1080Ti graphics card, that I am quite happy with, and it would ease the load on your card somewhat. You get an uninterrupted display ratio of 21:9, which limits the vertical view a little, but not a big problem. Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  20. I just did - and I am exhausted! Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  21. Bring up the Library view in Steam, right click on FSX, left click on "Manage", left click on "Uninstall". When that is finished left click on FSX and then on "Install". Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  22. Thanks - I think you are right! Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  23. Thanks for your reply. That is pretty much what I expected, but I was thinking that external SSD's claim read/write speeds around 500MB/sec, which would be around 2sec/GB - not that bad? Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  24. Just out of curiosity has anybody tried to run a flight sim program from an external SSD via a USB 3 connection? If so, is it feasible? Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
  25. Try to reduce fuel to 50% in all tanks. If that helps go from there. Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11GB GDDR5X; ASRock Z270 K6 Gaming MB, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM; 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD; Windows 10 Pro 64-bit; 34" 21:9 curved 4K Monitor
