  1. I know this is no help, but I used a Saitek X-52 Pro for less than a year when the Stick part became erratic probably due to dirty potentiometers. I gave up on using it and now use a Thrustmaster T 16000M Stick with the X-52 Throttle in a HOTAS setup. It works perfectly.
  2. I run an LG 34" curved monitor (3440x1440) and could never go back. I don't know your Radeon card and would not know how it would perform, but there are many other people running with 4 GB RAM cards, so I don't think you would be dead in the water. If FPS is too low, you may have to reduce the resolution until you can get a better card. I am doing fine with my old 1080 TI in a mix of settings between Ultra and High, but it does have 11GB of RAM, and I am sure that is why it can still kick.
  3. Very nice video from a part of the world unknown to most people. I guess it would be the perfect places to go if you want to "get away from it all".
  4. Sorry - I did not think (not unusual!) - but I do use a mix of a Saitek X55 PRO Throttle and a Thrustmaster T 16000M Flightstick without problems in ALL my flightsims including FSX, P3D, XP11 and MSFS 2020. This does not answer your question, but I would expect you would not have any problems.
  5. Hi Jeff Sorry - cannot help you, but I would suggest that you post in the "Cockpit Builders" forum here. These guys are much more likely to be able to help.
  6. I didn't know I was lucky to get the top version! I find the analog gauges so much easier to use. Apart from increased functionality, glass gauges are a pain in the a.. to use IMHO.
  7. All the above discussions/complaints sound like an advertisement for Steam. I purchased and installed FS2020 from Steam, and all updates have run automatically and without any problems whatsoever, except for having to move stuff away from the installation SSD to make sure there was enough space available.
  8. Maybe I don't fully understand the problem, but over many years of flight simming I have from time to time run into the same problem with some programs and flight sticks. In each case it was solved by simply reversing the throttle action in the controls adjustments.
  9. Very good video!
  10. My relatively trouble-free journey with MSFS finally ended for the first time. After latest update every flight crashes after about 5 minutes. I have never had any CTD's before, Community folder is cleared, nothing else has changed. I don't think this problem is unique to me, as I see that numerous people are reporting the identical problem in MSFS discussions on Steam. John O.
  11. https://robbreport.com/motors/aviation/flaris-lar-01-very-light-jet-1234613855/ - and it is only $1,5 Million!
  12. I have MSFS on Steam, just ran the update during startup 9.46 GB. Short follow flight ran well - no problems so far.
  13. No - I was not talking about frame rates, but rather overall simulation speed, i.e. cutting flight time. You can use it to reduce flight time on long distance flights by a factor of 2, 4, 8, or 16, but it apparently puts enormous stress on the system. Anyway, that is not your problem.
  14. For what it is worth, I have flown over 100 hours in MSFS without any crashes, until I tried to increase simulation rate to 4x or 8x. Doing that will crash the program in a few minutes on my PC. It may not be your problem, but I suspect, that in this case I need to increase RAM from 16 t0 32Gb.
  15. Thanks - I don't even know if ham radio exists any more with internet and all.
  16. I am using the Thrustmaster T 16000M stick in MSFS without problems. The sim even includes standard button assignments.
  17. In the late 40's, when in high school, I was OZ8JO running a homebuilt AM transmitter with an 807 final on 80, 40, and 20m bands. Got interested in SSB, but never made it because I got too busy with engineering school in the early 50's. Those were fun days!
  18. Thank you! That was a relief, but I have no idea how that suddenly changed - I have never been on that page before.
  19. It seems that the sequence of posting entries have been reversed, i.e. the starting post is now listed last with the latest entry listed on top. Is that intentional? I personally find it annoying!
  20. Excellent video of Stavanger and surrounding landscapes. MSFS still has a little ways to go!
  21. In my Steam installation it is located in Windows ©: Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
  22. Brings back memories of many, many business flights in the 60's from Rochester, NY, to Chicago - forgot which airline, but I think it was American. The entire plane was Business Class, the rear end of the cabin had semi-circular sofa seat, and free cocktails were served by stewardesses (they were in those days), who were all young and pretty wearing miniskirt uniforms. Those were the good old days!
  23. Everybody is looking for "immersion". I can't think of anything being more important to immersion than the environment in which you are flying, i.e. the cockpit and outside scenery. The realism of the handling of the aircraft certainly is important, but probably only to those who have real piloting experience. The scenery in MSFS trumps all other flight sims, and many of the planes and cockpit are on par.
  24. Sorry - I should have mentioned that my XP 11.5 installation only includes standard scenery for North America and Europe.
  25. It is amazing how different people's experience has been. I purchased the Deluxe Premium version from Steam, and have had absolutely no problems other than the known bugs.
