I agree! Can you imagine a swarm of Drones over the city by people commuting to work - the potential collisions and the danger of people on the ground getting hit by debris? :)

There certainly have been numerous attempts over the years, but while the idea of a combination drive-or-fly vehicle seems to appeal to most people, a simple and practical solution has been constantly escaping. I agree with daspinall that the drone configuration looks to be the most practical, but it is still hard to imagine how it can be applied to the car-configuration. Recent advances in battery technology will promote all-electric drive systems.

I use a free program called SPECCY, it will tell you everything going on in your PC like component specs, temperatures, frequencies, etc. However, it does not address power consumption.

Thanks for all your informative comments. I must say that I hope Asobo/MS will reach a point where they consider MSFS to be basically complete within the next year or so. This should not exclude continuing, optional updates - or even a Version II to be for sale. But 10 years of required updates would probably break a lot of SSD's or HD's or require new computers!

I know that MSFS is still considered to be in development, but have there been any fairly recent predictions of when development will be considered "finished"?

My MSFS is running well except for a small annoying problem. I have altitude trim assigned to two buttons on my ThrustMaster T 16000M joystick. It works as intended, but randomly I will get a full-right rudder action when using the altitude trim buttons. This results in a sharp right turn and dive for the aircraft, which may be saved from crashing by providing full-left rudder until the rudder goes back to neutral.

 

I believe I have read of similar problems on websites in the past, so I am curious if any of you have noticed or maybe experienced this kind of problem, or know of any causes or solutions?

Thanks for your clarification. I have the same settings, except that the throttle function on my joystick is disabled because of a noisy potentiometer. I have uninstalled the Aerolite 103 and replaced it with Asobo's 103 Ultralight (with 2-cycle engine), which is great for sightseeing and fun to fly!

Can you believe this? I tried moving the 103 folder from the "Official" folder under "Packages" to the "Community" folder. Started a new 103 flight AND THE THROTTLE WORKED! I took off, but at 300 ft the engine died and the throttle no longer worked - end of story. Another attempt to fly did not work - no throttle. I think I am giving up, I liked the 103 because it was great for sightseeing, of which I do a lot in MSFS. Thanks to you all for your interest!

Did you buy it from the Marketplace or Simmarket… and do you have the latest version?

I bought the 103 a while back from Simmarket but haven’t installed or used it in a while. I had previously downloaded version 1.12 but it appears the latest is 1.16 which I have just downloaded / installed.

I’m not sure about the old version but the latest seems ok to me. That is… assuming simply putting it into the community folder worked.

The original version had an installation program (albeit a somewhat outdated looking one) but 1.16 didn’t have that,

Of course you may have bought it from the MSFS Marketplace in which case you should already have the latest version.

Thanks for your comments Steve. I bought the 103 from the Marketplace, and the version is now 1,18. It installs itself into the "Official" folder under "Packages" - not in the "Community Folder". I have emailed Nemeth Designs with my problem, as there could be a problem with the latest update, but no reply so far.

Link throttle to throttle axis 01. That is what fixed my throttle errors.

 

Thanks for your comment - not sure what you mean by "throttle axis 01". I am using the Throttle from a Saitek X55 Pro with a Thrustmaster T 16000M joystick in a HOTAS setup, and I am using "Throttle AxisL-Z" for control with all other functions of the Saitek disabled. But, as I said, the throttle works with all other planes.

I have just cleaned up my MSFS installation by completely uninstalling and re-installing everything. Everything is working fine, except for one item: While all controls work properly on all other aircrafts, the purchased Aerolite 103 Ultralight does respond to all control movements EXCEPT the throttle! It worked properly before the un-re-install. I have uninstalled and re-installed the 103 several times to no avail. It seems to me that the problem must be in the 103 software, since all other planes respond to the throttle. Any suggestions on where to look?

How did the passengers like that trip?:)

My download for Update 7 was 33.4 GB, final space used after full installation was 16.1 GB. It took about 40 minutes on Steam.

I don't disagree, let us just agree that, if the quoted numbers were to be realized, it would be somewhat revolutionary.

I ran the compatibility test for Win11 on the MS site, and was surprised to get the message that my CPU (I7 7700K) was not supported by Win11.
