  1. Hi, This repaint of a CV-440 comes from the naturally beautiful Maldives. It was uploaded just now so, it should be available within 24 hours. Some info: Air Maldives came into existence in 1974, with the assistance of the Sri Lankan Air Force. Two Convair CV-440 Metropolitans were acquired from Caribbean United Airlines, and it started scheduled services on October 9 1974. Apart from an internal route network, it also flew internationally to Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 1976 it went through reorganization. However, in May 1977, the Maldivian government grounded its two Convair 440s, and freezed its accounts, forcing it to cease operations. A new carrier, Maldive International Airlines, was formed as a subsidiary of Indian Airlines Corporations, and began domestic operations in 1981. However, it was also unsuccessful, and was succeeded on September 30, 1984 by Maldives Airways, a new state operation with ambitious Mideast backing. Pics of its Convair CV-440 Ted
  2. Hi, I uploaded 5 repaints of Air Ceylon yesterday, but only two of the repaints are on the "All New Files" download page (the DC-3 and the DC-8). Does anyone here know why that is? Ted
  3. I just checked the Flightsim download page and, for some reason, only the DC-3 and DC-8 are showing up. Does anyone know why the other 3 aircraft are missing?
  4. Thanks fellas. It was a small airline but with attractive and bright liveries.
  5. ...................Continued The pics above are of the Lockheed L-188 lastly the HS121 Trident 1E. (This was the first tri-holer airliner, which was copied by others later on, like the 727, L-1011, Tu-154, Dassault Falcon, etc.) That's it. Ariverdecci
  6. Hi, I've just uploaded the Air Ceylon fleet, and the planes should be available by tomorrow. I have only ulploaded the fleet on Flightsim, so don't look elsewhere. Some quick info: Air Ceylon, the previous national airline of Sri Lanka, was founded in 1947 by the Ceylon government. It began operations on December 10 of that year with a DC-3 service from Colombo to Madras in India. They began their first long haul flight with a DC-4 from Colombo to London, in February 1949. Their route network by 1977 consisted of flights to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sharjah, Karachi, Paris, London, Bombay, Madras, and Bangkok. They also operated domestic flights. Air Ceylon was closed down, on March 31 1978, by the Sri Lankan government, due to corruption, and severe financial problems. The planes: DC-3 DC-8-53 HS-748 continued...........................
  7. Thanks, Peer, Jans, Kalizzi, lifejogger, David, and Larry, glad you all like them. Some more info on KLM: -KLM was led by the legendary Albert Plesman, founder of KLM and CEO for its first 35 years. He made KLM into one of the leading airlines in the world. -Jakarta was KLM’s first intercontinental destination when, on 24th November 1924, a Fokker F-VII arrived in Jakarta after a 55-day journey. Up until World War II, this was the longest scheduled flight connection in the world. -Except for the DC-1, KLM operated every single type of Douglas airliner from the DC-2 all the way through to the MD11, including the rare DC-5. The Douglas company must have loved KLM. -In 1946, KLM was the first European airline to operate flights between Europe and America with DC-4s.
  8. Thanks Rick. Yes Gerard, maybe you should be good to Peer today haha.
  9. Hey there fellas, Back again. I especially want to congratulate the Dutch members here, the enigmatic Peer, and the ever talented Jans. This year is the centenary year of KLM in regard to the start of operations. It was way back on 17 May1920 that the national carrier of the Netherlands made its first flight from Amsterdam to London in a deHaviland D.H.16 . So, also being one of my favourite carriers, I wish to dedicate these repaints to an airline from relatively small Netherlands which is a Giant in the annals of world airline and aviation history - KLM Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V. Hopefully they will be around for another 100 years more. :pilot: I did these repaints, as it is my favourite KLM livery. Pure classic. The planes: DC-7C(F) L-188C Viscount 803 BAC-111-300 Continued..........................
  10. Thanks fellas. Larry, unless you're a classic airline nut like me I who owns tons of books on airlines, especially the World Airline Fleets 1970s to 1980s series by Gunter Endres (Highly recommended), I wouldn't think many people would've heard of Alisarda. However, I suspect a lot of our European friends here might know of it. BTW Peer, my next series will definitely be pleasing for you. But, I can't say what it is yet, you'll just have to wait.
  11. Hey dudes, Hope you all had a great holiday season. Here is the next set of repaints of a good little airline from Italy - Alisarda form the island of Sardinia. Nord 262 E F-27-100 (200) DC-9-14 DC-9-32 DC-9-51 MD82 Cheers Ted
  12. Great paints, and the photos are just as good.
  13. ........continued F-27-500 That's it for the year. Have a Happy New Year with good health, love (spiritual or physical, lol), and prosperity. Adios Amigos
  14. OK guys, this is the last batch for the year so enjoy it. This is the Air Zaire fleet, with their great classic livery. Here's some info on the airline: Air Congo was renamed Air Zaire, after the Democratic Republic of the Congo changed its name to Zaire in 1971. At the time, the fleet included 2 Douglas DC-8-33s, 8 Fokker F.27-600s, 2 SudEst SE-210 Caravelle IIIs, 6 DC-4s, and 4 DC-3s. In 1972, the carrier put in orders for 3 737-200s, and 2 DC-10-30s, the first of which arrived in February 1973. In October 1973 Air Zaire leased a 747-121 from Pan Am. Air Zaire began services from Kinshasa to Brussels, Geneva, and Rome just a month later, in November. By year’s end, Air Zaire was one of the largest carriers in Africa. In 1974 they received the second DC-10-30 and two new DC-8-63CFs. In March 1975 the 747 was returned to Pan Am as the lease wasn't renewed. The 1970s, were great for Air Zaire, however in the early 1980s, due to the world economic situation at the time, they got into financial difficulties. They sold off a few aircraft to avoid collapse in the face of declining traffic and rising expenses. In 1984, all international routes were suspended, except the Kinshasa–Brussels via Lagos route. Things did not improve much over the next 10 years, and the airline was eventually declared bankrupt on 12 June 1995 by a Brussels court after incurring debts to the value of 1 billion Belgian Francs. The planes: 737-200 747-121 Sud Aviation Caravelle VI-R DC-4 DC-8-63 DC-10-30 continued........
  15. Fantastic stuff Jan. The planes look more realistic than ever with PBR.
  16. Nice transport, the Beverley, and good shots with your new scenery Col.
  17. Quite an entertaining little flight Larry. Not for the passengers:( but us the onlookers ;) I like the livery of Overseas Airways. Pretty attractive. I assume it's Rick Piper's model. Col, don't be so critical of yourself, it's been a while since you lost a plane by fire! Only winding you up mate, I reckon you're an ok pilot.
  18. Haha Gerrard, very funny. Somehow, I don't think Peer will find it very funny though.
  19. Hi Andiroto, enjoy the repaints. Also,I have to say thanks to you as well for your great FSX conversion of the C-133, and all the other FSX conversions you have done.
  20. AH OK Gerrard. I see what you mean. So you are saying Peer is Mike Tyson number 2, right? LOL
  21. Yes Col. It would've been a bit worrying flying in a plane with only bands holding it together. As for you flight on the Dan-Air 727, that would've also been a bit worrying I'd reckon. I prefer my planes firm, solid, and sturdy thanks ;)
  22. Glad to hear from your S/Sgt White. I've got nothing but respect for the aviators who flew on the C-133, which as you know, not the safest plane to be on back in the day. Hope you enjoy flying it on your sim as much as I do.
